You wake up a bit cranky in the morning.

You tried playing the guitar, but kept just flipping it round and round.
You tried playing the piano, the left hand was great, but the instrument was too heavy to hold attached to the waist.
HA HA HA ! The piano trial makes a great picture in my mind.

I've recently found out about the hurdy gurdy, not even a week ago, and it's already climbed to the top of my list of favorite instruments. Honestly, your music is some of the most beautiful I've ever heard.

Oh god, I'm a hurdy gurdist, and it explains sooo much about my military days. when I bored I would air crank for no apparent reason, and even did it in my sleep.
It seems like the instrument you get when you want to play the piano, but also want to tune multiple string instruments every day.

Since buying a hurdy-gurdy, I measure every sum of money in terms of how many hurdy-gurdies it's worth. Like, "why would you want to buy a camper van? Do you realise you could buy twenty hurdy-gurdies with that money?" or "eh, it's not that much money. You could buy, like, a tenth of a poor-quality hurdy-gurdy with that"

New on your channel and already love it. This week I started working on a 1882 hurdy gurdy, so fascinating to explore this instrument from the inside. Can't wait to begin practice and do all these "weird" things with my gurdy ^^

As a guitar and mandolin player, I can relate to what your instrument doesn't like, you don't like. How about when someone says, "I've had the same set of strings on for over a year and they still sound great!" No! no, they don't!

Which is actually fine for a couple of guitar players I know who break a string most every set.

I think I may be a potential Gurdist, despite having once been a Trombonist & more recently, having my way w/ a Chapman Stick & a Megatar... whatever the case, Hurdy Gurdys are totally cool & awesome - just ask Nicolas Boulerice (Le Vent du Nord) or Caroline Phillips (Bidaia)... Have you used a 'singing bowl'? ooh you would like that. Controlling that 'standing wave' of sound is similar to the gurdy :-)
