Thank you for your articulate review. The majority. of other reviewers are trying to review this movie as if it’s a normal drama film. The intellectual approach seems to have split reviews down the middle where the film can go either way good or bad. From an artist look at it. I look it as a beautiful piece of work not necessarily trying to pick it apart to get some kind of clicks as a reviewer but just enjoy it for what it is. The man is painting with film. Unfortunately, some of my favorite films are box office flops like Babylon or Clouds Atlas. Personally, just tired of these commercial remakes. thanks for your honest review without any kind of a weird bias.
I walked out crying, and I really enjoyed it. The woman behind me said she loved it. A young kid gave it 3 stars, and his father gave it 4 stars out of 5.
I want to know about this young kid who gave Megalopolis a 3 star review. He should be protected at all cost and someone needs to get him blogging on Letterboxd Thanks for watching and if you enjoyed my review I hope you consider subscribing for more
The film is an avant-garde master class in hyperreality expressing the inevitable reality facing all civilization(s) based on the binary Human 2.0 paradigm. It was meant to be divisive, because it is an expression of binary mechanicity's modus operandi by which humanity is divided and conquered. I, too, once had ambitions to be a filmmaker like Coppola, holding a mirror up to humanity. But as it turned out, that stage was not meant for this presenter of Truths. Now, I step out onto the world stage with not just a mirror to humanity's Heart of Darkness, but an intra-dimensional atomic microscope into the very Truth, Nature, and Analogous Ultimate Methodology by which we can SEEK Self-Evident Experiential Knowledge of Human 3.0. That is, at the end of the day, what Megalopolis is about...we cannot double-down on the same foundations of our mechanical nature to establish the New Golden Age. ruclips.net/video/7djDy7kdPg0/видео.htmlsi=7AaQGIUPofsaSWRn
I watched it earlier today and enjoyed it. I did not really understand the criticisms of it being too complicated, disjointed, or convoluted. I thought it was pretty straight forward storyline with Shakespearean type characters (mostly static archetypal characters) with a lot of David Lynch dream/drug sequences. In fact, I thought the movie was probably too simplistic/optimistic in its conclusion and the plot resolution was too idealistic. But the movie does a good job setting up how a society goes from "normal" to almost collapsing. I agree with your assessment that the movie lacks prospective in that it is largely told from the POV of an optimistic Caesar whose dreams and aspirations are the driving forces. I would love to see an alternative ending or the same movie but from a different prospective ala Flags of my Father/Letters from Iwo Jima style.
I didn’t have a bad time watching this movie. For the most part I enjoyed the experience; however, by the end it left me hollow. But I respect your take! Thanks for watching and I hope you consider subscribing for more reviews!
@@BenFriedman916 I would agree with the hollowness in part because the ending was fairly cliche...he raises all these stories and issues but then provides a fairly meh conclusion cause he wanted to end it on a specific tone/message.
i realized half way through the movie that i just didnt care. there were no stakes in this movie for me. i didnt care about any characters, any of the "plot"....
I just got out of the cinema, and have to say, for me, you’ve really hit the nail on the head!! Couldn’t agree more!! And on top of everything, yes unfortunately Adam’s role got extremely monotonous
Yeah 100% agree with that. It wasn’t that I thought Driver gives a bad performance. I think he gives as good as he was given, it’s just I found the character to be one note.
My favorite scene with Driver is the scene where he goes crazy out the party. I wanted more of that wackiness from him. Either way, thanks for watching my review and if you haven’t yet I hope you consider subscribing for more!
Honestly I think if you try to turn your brain off it may hurt the experience, I think it has too many ideas to just turn off your brain while watching. Rather, how I would describe the best way to view is don’t go in with any preconceived notions of what this movie is or isn’t about.

Sounds like The Room all over again
Hey how many times did you watch the film ? If it's okay to ask
Just the one time, for the Early IMAX screening

Seems like the kind of movie if I don't think too hard about it, I'll really like it

A rambling commentary. I got almost nothing out of it.
Damn, even the description about this being the fall of Rome from modern perspective or something sounds so boring.
To each their own, to the film’s credit, I thought that was a cool device to frame a story around
That's interesting 'cause to me that sounds fascinating as hell. And I'm not even that much into Rome (more of a Greece and Egypt kinda guy).
Appreciate your unboasedview, unlike many others looking for click bait, well done
