Yeah but that's why Ike Bowser and Rob are at the top. Ike has good aerials for landing, Rob the same but also up-B and projectiles, and Bowser has the command grab, downair/down-B as mixups, and the contant light armor to get out of multihits on the ground. Heavys that can buck the trend a little end up being good. If whirling fortress was just slightly less easy to mess with in the air bowser would be high end of high tier. As it is he's still tournament viable. Just watch Leon go to town on someone for a bit.
@@hotsauce8780 It's mad good. It's his primary combo starter and can lead to up air strings or back air on ledge, as well as being long lasting as hell and having a huge hitbox, so I'm not surprised people spam it. I also use it sometimes to condition shielding so I can punish with grab.
Was playing random characters with a friend and got bowser, thought I was going to lose and was surprised at how good he is and how well his moves work together. Easily the best iteration of the franchise probably the best heavy ever too. Maybe dedede in brawl is his only competition.
Riley Grill glad to know I'm not the only 1 who loved Brawl Dedede, then he just got worse each game, but Ultimate Dedede ain't that bad. Smash 4 Dedede definitely was the worst 1
I figured out how to use K Rool against projectile users like Villager. What worked for me was shooting out a cannon ball and using it as a shield as you approach. It's not impossible to defend against projectiles with K Rool.
Top tier is too high, if either dair or aerial whirling fortress weren’t garbage he could be considered, but no as is his recovery and landing are too awful to ignore
minecraftian 1045 While Bowser Bomb definitely has it’s applications (mainly it being the best thing he can get from a jablock and some wacky ledge spike shenanigans), the aerial variant of the move is absolutely worthless unless you’re spiking offstage with extra stocks to spare. Of course if it weren’t for the million years of reaction time the opponent has when Bowser uses it in the air, it might have actually been a decent landing tool.

I feel that it does make sense when you use armoured Samus to fight oppenents, which counts as heavy. Whereas, when she's not with her suit on, then the character is light.

Average Joe its the truth, Zero never had any bond or liking towards King Dedede and he often shoves him down to the bottom tier in his rankings even tho Dedede is clearly a mid tier heavy who’s still very viable, look at his last tier list videos and you’ll see why I fucking hate Zero and I think he has a personal hate towards the character

Also wish Krystal and Isaac could be playable too if we are talking about Assist Trophies, Starfox needs a new rep that isn't a Fox clone while also representing the franchise wider than just 64 and Golden Sun is such an underappreciated gem too so Isaac would be a great start to give it more recongnition.

Best tip for anyone outside elite is to play more defensively; let your opponent do the approaching and try to punish him for it, move around in such a way that you're able to punish his next approach. (You can do this by making assumptions on what move they're gonna throw out and position yourself so you can punish it where you think it will whiff. For example you can predict they're gonna dash attack towards you and jump back a little pre-emptively so you can punish with an aerial if they actually dash attack. If they didn't dash attack and stayed in their zone, nothing is lost as you can just land free of charge. But if they did dash attack (or grab or other forwards moving attack) you are now in a good position to punish them. This strategy works well because the risk is low but the reward is high if the opponent falls for it. Set it up many times and in different scenarios and you're opponent will fall for it eventually.)

I consider myself an aggressive player - I never give my opponents enough time to breathe. It works for me: I have Yoshi, Ganon, Mario, DK, Bowser, Dr Mario, Link, Samus, dark Samus, Sonic and c.falcon all elite smash...

I could get the whole roster in elite by losing a match with every character, simply because my placeholder is far above the elite threshold. Player skill is determined by how far your best character is in elite, not by how many you have there. Telling someone to "really understand how to time your moveset" and to "play OFFENSIVELY/ not give your opponent space to breath" isn't very helpful. That's why I gave a concrete example of what he could implement to improve his play

really like when you do these kind of videos, i’m trying to get better at smash and just know everything that all the high skill players do, and just casually talking about everyone and their play styles and what’s good and what’s not just really helps and i hope you do some more stuff like this!
Ridley and Toon Link are two characters that are... okay, but despite that I have no idea how to deal with them. They're so unbearably explosive and I get destroyed every time. Doesn't help that the bastards always leave after one game too

Neutral b, take a while to charge, and not the fastest projectiles, make sure to not get hit by the first one or you will be taking ~40% and the ridley gets a free follow up if depending on how close you are. he also has no way of dealing with projectiles, so the links actually screw him over. his side B, if the ridley player is worth anything, should not be thrown out too often if ever. the ending lag on a whiff is 30 frames. use that punish window. also at 0%, ridley has a down throw into skewer mixup so be very wary of it, there is a 3 frame window for you to escape so your best option in to airdodge away if you think he is gonna go for it. but if he reads your airdodge, you gonna take a skewer anyway. ridley can also be gimped pretty easily if he is recovering low, but if he coming from the side, if you have a projectile, use it, or get on top of him. dont try to gimp him from in front of him, you would get hit instead. his dash attack is very unsafe on shield as well. downsmash after skewer covers 3/4 options, so just roll away if you think he is gonna down smash. of course this could be read too and lead into another skewer. make sure you know how to tech. not many ridley players do this, but i tech read with upB. it can start to kill at 90. theres a lot more but just know to dont respect him too much. he loses hard to combos and projectiles but if he knows what he is doing, he will control the space around him with his huge hitboxes.
Me too man he dissed king dedede and he called R.O.B the best heavy but, he isn't even a heavy. Also how he said that ridley wasn't a heavy that got me a bit triggered. What was it that got you a bit mad dude
The way you screw with campers with ridley is to charge neutral b and then side-b while they're shielding or up-b for a mixup that's about it works surprisingly well
For those wondering: Piranha Plant is Ledgetrap: the Character. You get the opponent to ledge, you stand perfectly still, and strategically use your moves to completely trap and oppress your opponent to death. You play like a plant.
feel like Zero didn't give K Rool enough credit here. While he can struggle against projectiles, he does have a reflector and 2 projectiles himself, plus as long as you can get in once or twice, you can kill with like 2 moves and armor through everything else
Man, Zero test playing characters while giving in depth analysis on them is still better than me with total focus and my main... maybe talking while playing is the secret LOL
The ridley v g&w is tough but you basically spam fire balls and try and catch him jumping or using the key with up smash. It's okay if he fills the bucket, you can just keep using fireball once it's full and it forces him to approach. Especially on battlefield its about controlling the center of the stage. Up smash works through the left and right platform. Definitely doable
I didn't actually know Piranha Plant was also such a heavy character. Piranha Plant appeared among other heavyweight fighters in the recent Heavyweight Tournament. I guess that plant pot Piranha Plant is in must be rather heavy.

Plasma breath against Chef is not a good option. You'll just get self-damage since the projectiles interrupt the move.

Ganon is the true definition of heavy, he’s really slow but his moves hit HARD

really like when you do these kind of videos, i’m trying to get better at smash and just know everything that all the high skill players do, and just casually talking about everyone and their play styles and what’s good and what’s not just really helps and i hope you do some more stuff like this!

Ridley and Toon Link are two characters that are... okay, but despite that I have no idea how to deal with them. They're so unbearably explosive and I get destroyed every time. Doesn't help that the bastards always leave after one game too
@@wealthforthecommoners3146 dont worry bro, i gotchu. ok, so here are some of ridley's weaknesses. Neutral b, take a while to charge, and not the fastest projectiles, make sure to not get hit by the first one or you will be taking ~40% and the ridley gets a free follow up if depending on how close you are. he also has no way of dealing with projectiles, so the links actually screw him over. his side B, if the ridley player is worth anything, should not be thrown out too often if ever. the ending lag on a whiff is 30 frames. use that punish window. also at 0%, ridley has a down throw into skewer mixup so be very wary of it, there is a 3 frame window for you to escape so your best option in to airdodge away if you think he is gonna go for it. but if he reads your airdodge, you gonna take a skewer anyway. ridley can also be gimped pretty easily if he is recovering low, but if he coming from the side, if you have a projectile, use it, or get on top of him. dont try to gimp him from in front of him, you would get hit instead. his dash attack is very unsafe on shield as well. downsmash after skewer covers 3/4 options, so just roll away if you think he is gonna down smash. of course this could be read too and lead into another skewer. make sure you know how to tech. not many ridley players do this, but i tech read with upB. it can start to kill at 90. theres a lot more but just know to dont respect him too much. he loses hard to combos and projectiles but if he knows what he is doing, he will control the space around him with his huge hitboxes.

The way you screw with campers with ridley is to charge neutral b and then side-b while they're shielding or up-b for a mixup

feel like Zero didn't give K Rool enough credit here. While he can struggle against projectiles, he does have a reflector and 2 projectiles himself, plus as long as you can get in once or twice, you can kill with like 2 moves and armor through everything else

The ridley v g&w is tough but you basically spam fire balls and try and catch him jumping or using the key with up smash. It's okay if he fills the bucket, you can just keep using fireball once it's full and it forces him to approach.
Especially on battlefield its about controlling the center of the stage. Up smash works through the left and right platform. Definitely doable

I didn't actually know Piranha Plant was also such a heavy character. Piranha Plant appeared among other heavyweight fighters in the recent Heavyweight Tournament. I guess that plant pot Piranha Plant is in must be rather heavy.
