We are stacked with playmakers, if everyone stays healthy im going to say Deuce gets 500 to 600 all purpose yards. IMO Davis is our RB2 film proves his vision power and can hit it for 30 or 40 at anytime. Deuce like you said can help us out of the backfield receiving or sweeps. His size low center will make him hard to see and tackle amongst the oak trees
Luepke “might” also make the roster and his contribution could make it interesting. He is listed as a “fullback” but in college was a gadget player for about 3 or 4 positions.
@@louhendren1047 I'm thinking we have Pollard at 1 Davis at 2 Luepke and Deuce filling in the last 2 spots with packages for them this yr and possibly bigger roles next yr if all goes well
@@troyreynolds7943 , that appears to be the case before camp. Camp will determine whether our predictions are on point. Last year “before”camp I would have expected or anticipated K. Turpin breakout. I’m looking forward to seeing it all play out
I remember a comment from Emmitt Smith said about his offensive line “I could hide” (behind). Which he used to his advantage. This should also apply in the case of Deuce on running plays. Yet agree that the majority of his positive plays should occur in the passing game.
I love when u see guys like deuce flip the narrative an use their size to an advantage. They use to tell him he was way to small to succeed but never let that discourage him but imbrace it to get better. Not just his speed an invasive ability to be shifty he has great vision an uses the o line to blanket him where defenders to even see which way he's going until he pops out the hole hard then he's gone. He should be great i have high hopes for this young man. I could careless how tall someone is or this or that, u can't measure his heart, courage, or determination thats what really counts
Deuce Vaughn is a factor in the games! That he can be a great addition! Watching him in High school and college, he was amazing! Just hope he is a winner! Turpin has a contract for 2 more years! We fans want another Super Bowl Championship!
@@rapslove9873 idk man.. I love his highlight reels but if you watch a full game , he gets rag dolled now and then. . The NFL will be a leap above that level .. I'm cheering for him for sure. Maybe if he can add 15 lbs and keep his quickness
Once in the open field, he will slice and dice. Doesn't matter what level, he is just soooo talented. They will want to get him the ball early and often.
I think he would start if he could pass block better. He is what the chiefs thought they got with edwards hilare who is to slow for the nfl. He was def the steal of nfl draft.
Tony Pollard and Deuce will be the 1 - 2 punch we should have had with Zeke and Pollard. I think Zeke simply got somewhat stale with the Cowboys, but he may have somewhat of a renaissance year with the Patriots, since his mentality and attitude seems to have undergone a change. I have 2 cousins who played with the Weslaco Panthers High School Football Team, both getting their time to shine at RB1. They were a little shorter, but when they got the ball, they moved like mercury. I see this in Deuce, and I've noticed that it's easy to lose track of him in the mass of the O-Line, and he, just like Emmitt Smith, can find the right creases to allow him to slip through and go supersonic to the end zone. Expect to see multiple TD's this season with his name on them!
Yep. Pass receiving threats like Deuce and Pollard have to be on the field often. Plus our TE whoever that will be. And our strong D to keep the score low. Fingers crossed this will be the year!
The NFL has turned into a passing and speed game. They need turpin in the slot some and Vaughn coming out the back field on screen pass plays and run plays. Along with pollard and Lambs speed . They going to be dangerous!!
Unless someone gets injured, I don't expect much his rookie season. Use him occasionally on third downs & punts. 300 all purpose yards & 2 TDs, which is good for a rookie.
Deuce gone have 6 or more tds he gone be like a man trying to catch a rat in his house that boy special one of the reasons Dallas go to the bowl dak really don't have to do much
I disagree, I think theyll use him more. And hell definitely be used as a gadget player along with Turpin. I think were gonna have Thunder and Lightning, and the previous Lightning (Pollard) will be Thunder despite being fast, and lightning with Vaughn. I think your underestimating him.
@@k29king1 I think they definitely need to give him a chance. The 49er's playoff game showed us how much we need a second runner. Once Pollard got injured we became one-dimensional. Add to it Cowboys have never been a type of team that can go deep in the playoffs without a very solid running game.
He's built like a tree stump.. did you ever try to move one of those? I feel his size and strength are superior to those lengthy wide outs! It will be harder to hit someone bursting through the line.. that will be lost in the shuffle! I want this guy to make a name for himself! Big time!!!
If there is anything we have learned about the draft is that it doesn't mean much which round you were drafted. If anything the later one was drafted the bigger the chip on the shoulder there usually is.
Deuce looks like natural receiver anywhere on the field, not just as a dump off pass. And I think you're too negative about "gadget players". Hybrid RB/WRs are very valuable. They're a sweet spot in the NFL. Pollard and McCaffrey are more the ideal, but Deuce is at least in the ball park. A big lumbering RB w/o receiving skills can be as much of a gadget in today''s NFL.
They might only have an idea for gadget plays right now, but if he gets out there and shows everyone he can do his thing at the NFL level, that is going to change real quick. We had a short dude built like a tank just like Deuce when I played linebacker and I would rather have tackled any other player on the team. His power, speed, and low center of gravity made him difficult to tackle especially if head-on. He would get so low all you had as a target head-on was a helmet and shoulder pads coming at you.
@DoubleMove Vaughn being drafted in the 6th round says more about how the NFL is viewing the RB position than about Vaughn. The FA period backs this up. Even the Draft backs this up as most RBs didn't start getting drafted until the 3rd & 4th rounds.
I can agree with that, the devaluing of RBs is at an all-time high, but the height and workload did hurt his stock. Even with bad RB value, he would’ve been a top 100-125 pick if he were 6 foot tall. I think the stature scares teams away because it’s not common and we don’t see a lot of guys like him even in the conversation in the NFL. Regardless, it’s a 6th round pick and any production is a big W. It’ll be interesting to see how the team uses him
LET ME SAY THIS, BESIDES POLLARD, WE REALLY DONT HAVE A SOLID #2 RB RIGHT NOW AND AS A COACH I WOULD EASE HIM IN THE LATER ROUNDS TO FINISH WEARING DOWN THE DEFENSE AND THEN ON OCCASION POP HIM IN ON A 3RD & 2 OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT
Deuce doesn’t need to be the #2 back to make an impact. His forty times are comparable to Tony Pollard and his stature makes him even more elusive. He hits the second and third levels of the defense before they even know he has the ball. He can spell TP and rack up big gains, all while leaving the bill of the carries to Malik or Ronald. And McCarthy knows how to punish a defense that tries to stack the box by hitting Vaughn on a curl route against a linebacker or a safety. Teams will rue overlooking Deuce in the draft!
The cowboys need a good second back. Pollard can't carry the full load. Maybe this kid can help. He looks like he has a lot of quickness and cutting ability so should be interesting.

I think hes the goal line rb and is going to get a lot of touches. Pollard could end up losing his job. He can't run like Deuce Vaughn imo. Ronald Jones and Malik Davis got no shot. Vaughn is a great goal line runner and I think he is going to take Zekes roll and Pollard will continue the roll he did well in. I know hes small but hes powerful. I still see Pollard starting cause Vaughn not a good pass blocker but Vaugh is going to get a lot of touches.
My, it takes this guy 4-1/2 minutes to finally say Deuce will be a pass receiving threat. Which is totally obvious. Deuce should be dynamite if he's used often for quick passes. Nothing else to say is needed.
deuce is not MM typical body type football guy. so I expect to see a very predictable 3rd down back role, possibly in two back sets with a healthy Pollard.
i want to believe that mike mccarthy is different lmao 😂😭 if this was jason garrett/kellen moore calling plays, i could tell you EXACTLY how it’d go lmao
Deuce Vaughn has the same skill set as Tony Pollard. They needed a replacement for Zeke not a Pollard clone. And where is all this talent fans are talking about? The offensive FAs are old rejects.
