  • Ten years after they filed for divorce, God led Karen Phillips and her husband to reunite. Her story powerfully demonstrates that even though the devil is in the business of division and destruction, we serve a God who is able to fully restore that which is broken.

    I'm not sure if I missed something in the testimony, but important info was left out so that I know what God brought her through to make this a testimony. I will read Nehemiah and Shelly Quinns book. I agree that if money was the problem, no divorce was needed, and someone should have gotten a job.

    Sharing a testimony is really brave, as it requires opening up emotionally, mentally & spiritually to retell the past, present & future of God's leading as we understand it. It requires vulnerability, while reflecting the hope & joy of the Lord. That said, when parts of our testimony are left out, or when there is a restrained telling, satan isn't robed of glory. Instead, the means that God intended to warn, encourage & teach the listeners is lost. People glean from the stories of others pitfalls to avoid, steps they can take to strengthen their relationship w/ God & w/ others. They may also learn how to process their emotions in a Godly way, while continuing to trust God & his word for healing refuge & strength. Though difficult, it is so important to come to terms w/ these things so that God gets the full glory that belongs to him through restoration.

    We serve the God of the impossible. There is nothing too hard for Him. He can change your will to be like His will. It doesn’t matter if your spouce marries another person because that is an adulterous wife or husband. God can sever that relationship and restore the covenant marriage.
    But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
    Heb 11:6
    Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” Luke 1:45
    A man’s heart plans his way,
    But the Lord directs his steps.
    Pro 16:9
    The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD,
    Like the rivers of water;
    He turns it wherever He wishes.
    Pro 21:1
    for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
    Phil 2:13
    Praying for all the prodigals. God is willing and able. Glory be to our God 🙏🏼

    I went thru about the same thing. Our first marriage didn't go very long. Can't remember how long our divorce was. We got remarried and got 18yrs out of it then. We had a good or better second marriage when we got on the same page. But later on we divorced again. The first divorce he asked for it and the second one I asked for. Somehow, both times we lost the spark of the marriage. I've wondered if we could rekindle it again and I don't see we can anymore. I'm wondering about remarriage now. That's my thing now, is remarriage.😢

      You must stay connected once you are joined in marriage. You can only filed for divorce one your spouse have committed adultery. God, however, prefer that spouses stay married. It is a vow you ought to honour. There is no such thing as "the spark has gone'

      She also stated there were other things that were going in the marriage those first ten years that she doesn’t want to glorify. This is a beautiful story of how God can restore what the locust has eaten. Very encouraging. To God be the glory. 🙏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
