    Jordan, you are the most respectful and gracious host I have ever seen on YT. You not only give 99% of the talk time to your guest, you truly seem to be a sponge yourself soaking in the knowledge like you are listening to like lessons from your a beloved family member. Speaks volumes about your character!💙 New subber, new fan!

    As a Registered Nurse and esthetics student, I never liked the idea of micro needling. I think it’s too invasive. Happy to hear Nerida’s perspective on it.

    As a skincare enthusiast and esthetician with a goal of working under a derm, I find Nerida inspirational (40 years in the biz! 💖) I just sub'd to her channel. I actually just found you (Jordan) through a comment on a Dr Dray video. So glad I did! Much love from The City of Trees 🌲🌳😊

    I love derma rolling and have been doing it at home since my first facial 10 years ago! I’ve noticed significant improvement in my skin concerns… I’m 56 years of age and love it! Of course, we have to be smart… When it comes to taking care of our skin care needs.

      Kellyvbd yes and as long as you don’t go too deep all should be ok. But we both have seen awful cases of scar tissue build up 🤦🏻‍♂️

    yess!! oils are such a fad now.. i appreciate them in the winter when it's so dry and central heating is on, but unless you are dry, there's really no need for an emphasis on oils. and whatever "benefits" they have are so muted, it's better to go for actives. oils are a godsend for my nails though, if you wear nail polish, use oils on your nails in between manicures. loved this and it was so nice seeing nerida speak. i personally love chemical sunscreens but in particular, the newer filters, i find to be the best but i don't mind a mixed filter one as long as there is no white cast.

    You two are definitely on the same page on so many things! Great questions, great answers. And I just realized why I have always steered away from sunscreens.....they leave my face so irritated and raw. But I now realize I was using chemical vs mineral. I’m going to try a good mineral sunscreen. Great tip. Thanks for all the great advice (as usual). Xo

    This was AWESOME!!! When is number 2 coming out? I want to LEARN MORE!!! I would LOVE to hear some actual product recommendations from Nerida - specifically a great mineral SPF product. I live in FL and have been using SPF since I am 19 (am 48 now) but suffer from clogged, bumpy skin, especially on the sides of my chin (does that make sense?). I'm pretty sure it's from the spf that I feel i have to use every day.

    i’m confused about the surface dryness. i didn’t know the name of the texture on my skin, and surface dryness is 100 percent what it is. but my skin is dry all over so i’m always adding and layering hydration, and never cleanse with anything harsh. i’m not sure what to change to fix it. but at least i finally know what that annoying texture is!

    • @jordansamuelskin3550
      @jordansamuelskin3550  6 лет назад +1

      Daniele Burt if you are generally dry you can look at internal things as well to help lubricate from the inside out. Xo

      I think you have to use acids, enzymatic peels to get rid of surface dryness so that the hydration can reach the fresh skin. You don't need strong peels just regular light peels

    I appreciate this video so much! May I please ask one more question? She emphasized that you have to wash cloth when you do the first cleanse. I wonder if people with sensitive skin have to do this step too. The cleansing oil I am using can emulsify with water so no need for a cloth. Do you think I should use cloth too just to make sure?

    • @jordansamuelskin3550
      @jordansamuelskin3550  6 лет назад

      Ckdia Snnx hi! No. If you are a true sensitive skin. Don’t use a cloth. Unless you can find a fluffy one :) xo

    Another informative video as always! I have a few questions - what do you suggest for treating sun spots on the body? I’m still n my mid 20s so I don’t have a lot, but I’d like to tackle them before they get worse. Better yet, what’s your skincare routine for the body in general? (AHAs, retinol, etc) Also, what sunscreen do you use for the body? Do you have any recommendations for a zinc oxide body sunscreen (can be mixed mineral and synthetic but mainly zinc), one for everyday use and then maybe a water resistant one? Thanks in advance!

    • @jordansamuelskin3550
      @jordansamuelskin3550  6 лет назад

      Bethanie Li hi! Look into Paula’s choice body products with Retinol and one with AHA. That’s a great start. Also LED full body light beds as well. For body SPF I usually just use a cheaper neutrogena chemical spf so will have to look into mainly zinc ones. Thank you for watching. Xo

    Great very informative video! I have been someone obsessed with diferent oils but with time realized that my skin was still dehidrated.... so i just got your hydrate serum and i am hoping its what helps my skin. But back to oils.... what oils are good for skin that is sensitive and acne prone? What would you recomend for someone that lives in the extreme cold weather of minnesota?

    • @jordansamuelskin3550
      @jordansamuelskin3550  6 лет назад +2

      Angelina Adelica hi! Hydrate will be your best friend. I don’t love oils for acne prone skin. Not every skin needs oil. For you I would recommend more gels and humectants.

    Hi Jordan! I had a quick question: so I am currently on Accutane and experiencing the typical dryness. I was wondering if Accutane dryness is actual dryness, dehydration, or both? I’ve tried looking this up but have come up short. Thanks!

    • @jordansamuelskin3550
      @jordansamuelskin3550  6 лет назад

      Alessandra Cappello hi! Probably a little bit of both. You will want to keep your surface hydrated with good humectants as well as staying hydrated internally. X

    Incredibly interesting video, with more questions.
    New topic of suntan lotions, I use everyday, I'm a outdoors person and a cyclist. Realise how important sun protection is, but want to use a reputable brand. So, I use Nivea as it's injunction with cancer research. So it must be a great product?
    I have no irritation complaints, but as a cyclist, it makes me sweat.
    So from what I gathered a mineral product would be better?
    Any recommendations? I live in London.
    Xxxxx

    I think the at-home dermarollers and light treatments aren't regulated for consistency and efficacy like the professional ones are. A person at home is also just not properly trained to use these machines. Seems like a recipe for disaster 😲

    Another thing: extraction! So many estheticians dont know how to do it properly, either they do too little or even worse do too much which result in scarring, pigmentation and inflammation..... 😭
