No. It's already too congested with freight and Brightline inter-city. Local (intra-city) rail needs their own tracks.

For about the same miles as West Palm beach to Ft Lauderdale the Long Island Rail Road charges $277 for a monthly pass. For about the distance WPB to Miami the LIRR charges $415 for monthly pass.
When their ridership decreases their prices will have to come back down to reality
I am certainly in no manner a businessman, nor well educated in train travel management nor finances; I am though an avid train traveler, and have scores of trips on European trains; this price is a profoundly poor decision. Retired in Gainesville, FL

2 4000 hp locomotives for 4 passenger cars is ridiculous! Buy more cars, be more effective and don‘t rip of the customers!
I’m sure it will go down soon when Gas prices went up they lowered the fares to $10. I believe that they still should invest in transit.

Sorry, the trains are so busy and so many customers we have to triple the fares.
Ask Brightline why it's not adding trains or adding cars to its trains, but it did not return calls or emails.
Local leaders offered tax breaks, and helped Brightline get state and federal grants to get the project started.

They are supposed to have 10-car operations at some point. I don’t think it’s ready for that yet, yeah the package was a good deal but it seemed to good to be true, especially for how frequently someone would travel, they’ll eventually reconsider and have something good again

It’s a private company, just a few seconds of googling would get you that info.
A google search for 'brightline government funding' will enlighten you. Multimillion-dollar net losses and lawsuits . They will never pay back any grants the people will be stuck funding this for years to come.
