- While doing some exhaust work Doug decided he needed to hear what his YXZ sounded like without a muffler.
Then he decided to bounce it off the rev-limiter 9 thousand times.

I have a Yxz 1000 and I put the empire exhaust it is sweet with Packard performance flashed ECU works really good. We need more videos of the Yxz NOT THE FARTIC CAT LOL

Being that it's a 998cc triple, I'm sure this motor is just an overbore on the FZ09 and XSR900 motor that's in a basic case with the divorced trans.
I don't care what some say about the clutch, if you understand what the trans is doing when you shift... you'll keep it going up for a long time.
Comparing the RZR to the YXZ isn't even close in simplicity and design. I don't want a transaxle, I want the YXZ everytime. Easily swap out the diffs for Toyota's IFS and you've got a beast after that swap.
It’s actually about the same engine that’s in the RX1

north of grand rapids area. i go up to silver lake alot. and been to rocks and valleys once this year and twisted trails. rocks and valleys is better though
And that ladies and gents is why they muffle the yxz, sounds like a wet fart :) cant wait till Yoshimura brings out a sweet Bolton!

Ehhhh more on that later. Probably a Graves.
Graves makes a decent one. Also look into Alba Racing.
I think it's more of a sound issue and Graves isn't too loud. I'll let Doug answer though....
I know Alba makes a good piece too. I personally like the look of the Graves muffler though. Just a style preference.
There ya go. I just saw tonight that evo powersports makes a slip on for the yxz and it looks BA. Not trying to stray you away, just thought it looked cool.
