Great video-the hub centric ring thing has haunted me over the years. Before buying my Evora I had an MR2 turbo that I tracked. I had multiple sets of wheels/tires, all aftermarket (and quite a bit larger), and all using hub centric rings. I noticed two things: first, it was easy to forget to put them back on when doing brakes or changing out tires. And I usually wouldn’t notice until I got it on the road to an event! Second, if I hit a pretty good bump the wheel would shift “temporarily” on the hub and I would get that wobble. It would usually go away after a few miles, but happened all the time. Lug nuts were to torque, wheel and hub surfaces were clean before putting the wheel on. But bumps would still upset the wheel on the hub.
I’ll be curious to see if you find this to be true, as well. Could be it won’t show up on your Evora, but let us know how they work out once you have some miles them.
Love the videos, keep ‘em coming!

Absolutely. Good point about the bumps. I could imagine if you did a curb on a track could definitely set things out of whack. The Evora also uses fairly low wheel bolt torque. I was surprised to see that it was only 77ftlbs. That's barely more than the Miata I used to have. My Corvette used to be a hundred foot pounds.

@@GoodmorningGoodnight Makes sense with what you said about wheel torque. On the MR2 I bumped the wheel torque up to 95 ft lbs in an effort to keep the wheels from shifting. There was always the risk of overtorquing the wheel nuts, but decided to take the chance. That, and remembering to put in the hub centric rings, seemed to fix the issue (most of the time). The Evora, with the really low torque spec, will be interesting on your car to see how it does. This is not really a big issue, and I don't mean to over emphasize it, just something to keep an eye on. BTW, my 2 sets of Evora wheels are both OEM (a set of the 19-20" forged for the street, and a set of the 18-19" forged for the track).
Oh, and just a thought with your plastic hub rings, if you used a mallet to hammer them into place, would they break?

@@cadefields-gardner6534 The plastic hub rings could probably be tapped on or modified to get them to fit better. I just am frustrated that they didn't fit right out of the box. Decided to go with the metal anyway. So not giving them much thought at the moment. I originally was going to link to both the plastic and metal ones. But because the plastic ones were out of tolerance I'm not going to give them more business.

Does Greg carry these in black or do they only come in silver ? Would be awesome if diameter of the stock logo fits directly on the wheels.

Greg can also get them for you in black. I think he runs black on his car. I chose against black because My car doesn't have the black pack, so I'm going for more of a lighter look. The question about the center caps. I haven't looked at that. But maybe I'll check that out later.

Was your front wheel wobbling in the post alignment footage?

11:48 I’m not trying to be a nitpicky RUclips turd. I have watched all your videos, thank you for making them and I hope to join you as a fellow evora owner one day soon.

@@gxlbiscuit I kind of see something in the video but ultimately didn't feel anything bad. I decided not to go back to that shop as I had issues with my rear camber getting loose on track (documented in another video) and am learning the dark art of alignment myself these days. Camber plates help but I need more experience. So moving forward I'll be doing my alignments myself because... Well... No one loves my car more than i do. And I want to take care of it myself when I can.
Welcome to join the Evora community. You'd find it's a welcoming and intelligent group of people who want the best from their cars.
Prices have really climbed for any Evora since 2020 and remained high.
      Good luck for your search!
