    If you put them in a strainer after the ice bath and dry them completely you can then flash freeze them and vac seal them in portion sizes according to your needs. That avoids any additional frost over time. Just pull them from the freezer and pop them into a steamer (from frozen) and they literally cook in 5 minutes.
    A great video Jennifer for anyone! TFS and stay well!

    I really like and appreciate this. Thank you Jennifer. I hope Miss Sheila is okay. I realize I said this on your last video, but it's worth repeating, at least one more time. I loved Steve and I'm oh so sorry he is no longer with us, however, I'm super glad you ladies decided to allow for "comments." I'm as sure as I can be that you'll get nothing but positive feedback. Does blanching kill bacteria

    • @CookingwithShotgunRed
      @CookingwithShotgunRed  Год назад

      Blanching can help clean the surface of vegetables and can kill bacteria, molds and other organisms existed on the surface of vegetables. Blanching stops the enzyme action. This will help preserve the taste, color, and texture of the vegetable. Blanching helps get the vegetables prepared for long-term freezer storage.

    WHY. ? ! ?
    Hi, It would have been great (some might say obvious) to explain WHY you need to do all that work and all that energy use, rather than just put them raw in the freezer.
    Thanks

    • @CookingwithShotgunRed
      @CookingwithShotgunRed  7 месяцев назад

      You would blanch vegetables if you plan on storing them long than 2-3 months.
