That Deadzone is a killer! You can also mess with Linearity on the steering settings to get a little bit of a more responsive feel as well. I might do a more in-depth settings video since it seems a lot of people seem to like the counter steer assist.

Will putting deadzone to 0 make it feel closer to Horizon 5?
I use traction control - Sport since I don't drift and it's useful after you end up with 2X the horsepower.
ABS on too but otherwise everything else off. Exactly how I race my car IRL 😁
@@_TrueDesire_ It will make it feel more like a responsive car. Can't compare it to Forza or NFS... Different handling models. The Crew has always used a deadzone and its just a delay in steering input.

I set the wheel settings to custom! and thats what worked for me from precise because around the deadzone area on custom the graph for the wheel is longer near the deadZone it which gives in a little bit more travel in the wheel so its smoother?
Dead zone to 0 is a big thing for drifting, especially to connect the drift
Why no drift assist?
You are a life saver the dead zone steering does the trick makes the game 1000000% better ❤❤❤❤

Currently looking for realistic steering settings for controller. Sometimes I just wanna cruise at slower speeds and it just feels like the car turns too much on curved roads
I've made some adjustments here and there but also tune each car in its pro settings menu.

For full screen •
1. Open Geforce Experience control panel
2. Click Home
3. Under Games and Apps • hover mouse over Motorfest • click details
4. Click custom setting (wrench icon)
5. Select desired settings (resolution & fullscreen)

I like counter steering because in a shallow drift I can let go of the thumb stick and it'll do a perfect high speed power slide with min speed lose everything else is off thoe lol
As far as a drift car goes, counter steer assist is actually pretty viable, I've found out.

No matter if you set dead zone to 0. It still has a huge dead zone on XBOX at least. Still gotta move the stick 1/3 of the way before the wheels start to turn.

@IITimTim Maybe your sticks have drift. Go into deadzone settings and see if the controller naturally shows input. If it does, move the dead zone up to match so that when you actually press over it initiates steering.

@@KingdomTwelve If you are in the controls menu and watch the linearity action as you move the stick you will see a gray section before the white area which is the actual movement of the wheels. This gray area cannot be taken away. It is like a second dead zone that is idiotic as there is a separate tab for the dead zone. Why in the world UBISOFT thought it needed 2 dead zones is crazy.

All i did to make it great was turn down the force feedback. That and take off all the assists. Game is very fun. I've spent over 24 hours on it already.
I set my g pro to 10nm and the feedback to 9.5 feels amazing

Just started playing, I feel what you’re saying. It takes a bit to get used to but I like it. On the ps5 the controller feel also adds a lot. I find you have to have a bit more finesse with the gas and brakes

try to change the tire adhérence, rear-10 front -5 , it Will get more like a simulation when you"ll drive a propulsion. For drift cars, change the rear front brakes, 62 front
and front camber -25
rear camber -10
then you cant change all front rigidity to -2
rear rigidity to +2
it gonna be almost like drifting in assetto or grand turismo. A bit harder but funnier. thank for the video
I've tuned 357 cars so far. Each car is different. But as a general rule per class, some things stick.
Ive tuned 525 cars🤣 take me few months🤣 Ive tried to have the same feel as assetto ,dirt 2.0 and grand turismo. But the thing, theres a little something , Maybe in the program of the game that makes it an arcade games but I can play "almost" as a sim race, when im not multiplaying.
This is actually my very first racing game ive ever gotten like deadass so i know im probably just completely ass at being a racer in these games but i am terrible at braking on the corners without spinning out. Do i just need to free-drive and practice? Any settings that can help me time my braking, drifts? Sorry if it sounds like im a complete noob but i honestly am since ive never played a racing game like this.
Make sure you leave ABS on. That prevents your brakes from locking up. Also, try to brake in a STRAIGHT LINE. That's a big deal with racing. But yea, practice, pump the brakes sometimes instead of full on mashing them.
Suprised to hear you say that the handling/driving is more sim than arcade, this certainly isn't sim handling in my opinion. The deadzone did make it better so kudos my man
Its not full sim, but coming from NFS where you literally drive on rails... It's def more sim. Plus you can change suspension settings which give you the freedom to completely change how your car drives. Want to slide more? Take off traction from the front and rear tires and stiffen up the rear 👌

Play AC, Or F1, then see if you think The Crew is a sim. The crew is a Vehicle based RPG. It's an arcade game. I wouldn't even call it a simcade. Have fun cruising with friends, and showing off rides. Sim racing is so much more serious. No corner cutting, invalid laps, penalties, performance affecting collision. Tire degradation/tire compounds. No nitrous. Pit stop strategy.
The Crew is my favorite game to relax and drive with friends in a semi competitive nature. I hate when people compare to Forza Horizon as well. The two are nothing alike. Personally I prefer some deadzone. Great video.
I kinda wish the Shifting for bikes was B and A or O and X, makes for way better shifting and resembles a quickshifter.

To be honest I did this and it kept screwing me up on quad racing so I had to keep traction control and drift assist on comfort because when npc try to pit you you spin out and I put those back on and npc can’t touch me lol

If you don't play manual, TC is better for dirt racing.

I think some people like you forget about people with disabilities like me there has to be difficulty settings So why do you say you don't know why it's a thing
Yea, didn't mean it that way. It's great to have them, but for them to be on as an expert difficulty setting doesn't make sense.

Do not turn your dead zone to 0 if you have a miniscule amount of stick drift it will mess you up and you may not know that you have stick drift until you turn it to zero
30 years and have never had drift on any console BUT my Nintendo switch. But that's a common problem. But yes I would hope people can read the graph and see for themselves and make adjustments.

Go into your controller settings on the console and turn your controller sound off. I'm on PS5 and hit the home button twice then toggle to it from the bar.

Can someone explain the reasoning behind the traction being off? When I turn it off my tires spin and the acceleration feels very slow launching from it.
TC cuts power to reduce wheel spin. Hence why I said if you can control your car then turn it off, you will be faster. Don't go full throttle at the launch and feather or ease into the power. Racecar drivers dont full throttle constantly, they ease into the power.

You can adjust each cars pro settings, add more negative camber for corners, soften the dampers and such.

I could do that yea. Basically wanna keep your revs high. Pay attention to how the car shifts when playing auto and mimic it.

It auto shifts at the highest revs anyway, there’s no advantage in manual
@kilosiq8104 Facts. Only cars you need manual on are Agera and P1. Gotta shift into high gears for the corners. Otherwise I whoop ass in Auto all the time.
@@kilosiq8104 actually there is. starting in second gear is a massive advantage in any race in this game. it’s similar to the second gear start in nfs unbound but they removed the ability to do it. jumping straight to second allows the wheel-spin to open up so much faster

I got a driving wheel and I tried to find ways that I like to steer but the force feed back is too much and I have it down to 20 but for some reason my wheel still moves way to much is there a problem with my wheel or is it just the setting have it on?

That is odd. Turn all of the dead zones on steering, throttle, and brake to 0. Then try moving the linear setting on steering to 0 as well.

@XVNRX Nah, I wouldn't want every game to be like NFS. The Crew has really good simcade handling and it's improved 10 fold since TC2. Feels really good.

I have an updated video with slightly tweaked settings.
Whenever I turn corners in a race the car drifts on me and spins out.
Some cars will do that. I make pro settings for every car to fix that.
