@@spoonunit03 I don't say "The studio version is lame". And not all bands sound better live, for example "The Warning" sounds better live than studio version because you can appreciate the harmonies of the voices, which doesn't mean everyone has to like it. God bless you a lot, greetings.
That was their concert in 2009. They had over 60,000 people in a soccer stadium in Argentina. The crowd was jumping all together that they set off the seismic station there in Argentina that records earthquakes in south America.
Normal capacity is 60.000... for a soccer game. Add in the entire field full of people and the fact that the entirety of the gate security essentially gave up trying to keep people out. That stadium was flooded to WAY beyond normal capacity. All they can say for sure is that there were well beyond 100K people.
Saw them live once in the 70s with Bon Scott when I was a teen the last time I saw him was 1983 during the flick of the switch tour Kick-Axe open Fastway middle with ACDC headlining one hell of a good show I was in the middle of the floor 10 rows back so pretty darn close when they shut off the cannons during for those about to Rock we salute You 21 shots when he says to the 21 gun salute my body was sore for days
God bless those Argentinian fans giving AC/DC the greatest mosh-pit in rock history. I heard there were around 200,000 crazy 'Acer Dacker' fans and every one of the tracks the band gave them was absolutely off the chart. The greatest live hard rock band in history for me. 🙋♂
At another channel, someone did some research and they said that the unison jumping caused an earthquake that damaged local buildings. 100k+ people jumping in unison, gotta be amazing to experience.
Didnt cause any damage to anything, other than the soccer field they were set up on, but it did register seismically at a station that follows that stuff 100 miles away. 🤘🤘
Argentine are famous for having amazing crowds. They are just going nuts and nothing i repeat NOTHING can stop them. Ive been living 2yrs there and had the plessure to attent a couple of concerts. Its been the greatest experience when it comes to live shows.
Aileen, delighted you have finally seen this, one of my all time favourite live tracks - btw, the modest sized crowd was over 75,000 - have just seen it was over 200,000, I stand corrected😉 👍
Whenever I watch these reactions to this song, I love watching the surprise as the song builds up with the crowd chanting along, and then,Brian Johnson comes roaring in. He’s actually had more struggles with his hearing, than his voice. In fact, he had to quit the band for years. He couldn’t hear himself well enough and risked what he still had. But thankfully, medical technology progressed and he was able to rejoin the band.
To answer your question, Thunderstruck was released in 1990 on AC/DC's album "The Razor's Edge" and this performance was on their "Live at River Plate" video released in 2011. (Concerts filmed in 2009)
Those "ah ah ah ah ah " and the first "Thunder" at the start ? THAT'S THE 75K+ crowd ! And AC/DC, for the last 40 years, have always sounded better LIVE than in studio versions.
This song came out in 1990. In early ‘91 a car accident put me in the hospital. The nurse assigned to me was a huge AC/DC fan, and every time for my checkups she’d put it on Thunderstruck and we’d jam out!
I’ve seen them more times than I can count. I started seeing them with my dad when I was young then on my own I caught them three or four times and then I had a family and me and my son have seen them multiple times and then me my son and my father have seen them all together as well. Always a good time!
This was in Argentina 2009 at River Plate where the Big Football games are played internationally. There were hundreds of thousands there over 3 days of this concert and the vibe was so high, the stadium "shook". The best crowd ever. The whole concert is legendary.
There were 200,000 fans that attended the concerts over three nights. Figure about 70,000 in that arena, all jumping at the same time. If you watch carefully the long-view shots of the stage from high up, you'll see the camera start to shake after the jumping starts. It measured on seismographs in the area.
I took my wife quite a few years back to see them in Vancouver British Columbia Canada. It was both our first time seeing them live. They did not disapoint the energy was awesome.
I saw the video title and knew we'd get some wonderfully excited Aileen "babble" for this one ♥ And that crowd! Argentina loves AC/DC, for certain, and people from all ages! Honestly, Aileen, if you want to check out a great AC/DC live performance, you've got to see them play Let There Be Rock from 1978 at the Apollo Theatre in Glasgow. With their previous lead singer Bon Scott and Angus is on fire with his guitar.
I hope you get to some Bon Scott with AC DC..❤❤ Bon was the singer for most of the 70's for ACDC.. Ride On, Ain't No Fun Waiting Around To Be A Millionare, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, TNT, Let There Be Rock, Sin City, Highway To Hell, Whole Lotta Rosie, High Voltage, Jailbreak, Shot Down In Flames, Big Balls, Night Prowler, Girls Got Rhythm, The Jack, Walk All Over You, Touch Too Much, If You Want Blood, Riff Raff, Gimme A Bullet, What's Next To The Moon, Up To My Neck In You, Kicked In The Teeth, Rock n Roll Damnation, Down Payment Blues, Squealer, Go Down, Dog Eat Dog, Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be, Crabsody In Blue, Love At First Feel, Rocker, There's Gonna Be Some Rockin, Love Hungry Man, It's A Long Way To the Top, She's Got Balls.... So many good ones, and more from the Bon era of ACDC... Hope you react to them all... Bon was a superstar... RIP Bon.❤
Not too shabby for a bunch of old dudes!!!!! AC/DC played 3 straight nights at River Plate in Dec 2009 to a total of 220,000+ ppl so says their official web site so that’s 73,000+ a night!!!!! Brian Johnson the lead singer was 63, Angus Young the lead guitarist was 54 and the rest of the boys were in their 50’s!!! Legendary is all I can say. These Argentina fans are the best on the planet and they appreciate good hard driving rock and roll. Just look at all the different ages in the crowd. It transcends generations. Unbelievable!! So says Austin Tx!!!! 🤣🤣🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸😍😍😍🥳🥳😎😎🍸
Oh I don'tblike the voice of Bon Scott...for me it just sounds terrible. Like Mickey Mouse on Helium and a whiff of Crack. Personally I prefer Brian Johnson as vocalist. But thats just me...

What I love about this video, when the song really kicks in, the crowd is that big, when they start jumping to the beat. There's a slight delay from front to back cos of the big distance There's almost like a Mexican wave going from the stage to the back as they start jumping.

Brian joined AC/DC in 1980 so he was 32/33 and Thunderstruck cane out in 1990 so he was in his early 40s. This live was in 2009 so Brian was 62 years old belting it out 🔥 A really great live of theirs is from 1996 in Spain, very high energy ❤️
The secret to Brian Johnson's voice is a pack and a half of cigarettes a day and either a case or two of beer and some whiskey thrown in. Funny thing is his hearing went out before his voice. As to when they were younger. Well, watching Angus (lead guitar), is exhausting. He's had to be given Oxygen before on stage.... While rocking out. Phenomenal band. Request by them... " It's a Long Way to the top" and one of the funniest songs "A whole lot of Rosie". The first request mentioned is with their original singer, and they rock out with bagpipes.
“Through the mist of time” from their last record pwr up in 2020. It’s a tribute to brother Malcolm young who died in 2017 and their former singer Bon Scott who died in 1980. And just their career in general!
As a long time lover of your reactions, I would give much to sit beside you and watch them live. I can just imagine many iterations of “stank-face”. Saw them for the first time in 1980 and they got better each time I was lucky enough to see them live. Keep up the great work. ❤️
I went to the black ice tour in brisbane Australia, soon as they started this a thunderstorm rolled in, the clash between to 2 was magical and something I will never forget
This show actually set off earthquake detection equipment!
whole lotta Rosie was there!!
Everything from River Plate....classic!!!!!!!!
We respectfully disagree on at least *one* thing

Totally agree. The River Plate concert was one of a kind!
