Whenever I think about Green Arrow's trick arrows I think of the one time where Sal and Joel were asking the question of who would win Red Arrow (or Speedy or whatever his name is) and Hawkeye. I died laughing because Joel said all you have to do to win is tie a heroin baggy on the end of the arrow and shoot it at his Speedy's feet

I loved Longbow Hunters because it wasn't a traditional story. It doesn't flow like a setup-middle-end. It meanders a bit, which gives it a lot more of a realism. And I really, really loved the parts of them discussing bringing a child into this world and how they decided the best thing to do was to not have a kid
If you settle down and have kids at 43, you're dealing with a teenager as you approach 60. Ollie is out of his mind.

Shado's actually a big deal in the New52/Rebirth Green Arrow continuity. She was a lover of Robert Queen, and her daughter, Emiko, is Ollie's illegitimate half-sister. At least, as of Ben Percy's run starting around the DCYou era. Ollie and Shado have a much more antagonistic relationship now.
All that is mushed up in arrow series

Grell is the ultimate Green Arrow writer. Nobody has been able to top his run.
So the best episode of Arrow AND a Back Issues episode about a cool Green Arrow run on the same night? This is so fantastic.
Dinah normally has the short black hair, with a long blonde wig she uses when doing Canary work. At leas that was the case in Chuck Dixons Birds of Prey, which would only have been a few years after this story. I'm sure that has been changed since then, but short hair makes sense with her whole close quarters martial artist style.
She just dyed her hair and let him grow permanently around the Gail Simone run.

I've just come home from a shitty day of school, stressful week so far. And this rolls in..a Back Issues episode. That's usually enough to get me out of the wendigo woes, but A GREEN ARROW EPISODE?! My pants are a tightening. Especially since this is my favorite era of the character.

Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't Ollie flat broke at this point? Dinah opened the florist shop so they'd have some kind of income to continue doing the superhero stuff, but if I remember right that's why Ollie takes the money. Also I remember reading somewhere that Dinah loses her canary cry, for a time, because of this story (ptsd trauma and such) but that could be incorrect as well.

I dug it. I watched every episode every Saturday on KidsWB. Mr. Freeze was legit.
Lots of fun fight scenes in the early episodes. Still love that first fight against Penguin #afewtricksipickedupintheorient.
What's the concensus on The Batman vs Dracula? Cause I'm still holding out for a Batman and Dracula: Red Rain adaption.

Nice thing about this vid is you can tell it is a story that Sal really had something to say about, you know he wasn't counting on Green Arrow for widespread views.

So weird to have a DC story take place in a real city. I would've also loved for Green Lantern to appear and say he wanted to visit because Seattle is... the Emerald City.

Ollie really shouldn't be allowed to have kids. This attempts at parenthood have over all been a failure.
Caitlin Brewer well Ollie did have kids and he was a great dad before the reboot, you're forgetting that he did raise 2 adopted kids on his own and Dinah raised an adopted daughter so they know how to be parents, they just didn't want to have their own kids because they thought their enemies would kill them.

The Longbow Hunters was awesome and kind of one of the things that inspired the CW tv show. It was cool as was the comic run that came from it. He latter uses the money to open a youth center.

I enjoyed Young Justice, however I don't think it's as good as bruce timm's works or the Original Teen Titans, but I still think its pretty cool. The way I view Young Justice is that it's a great Homage to the Pre New 52 Universe (Ironically as the New 52 began Young Justice was cancelled not to long after) also it was a little too serious at times and other times too goofy but overall pretty fun.
Did anyone else hear the cat(s). I was thinking where is that strange sound coming from until I remembered that they have a couple of cats there.

The original Black Canary (currents mother) did not have powers. Her daughter, I think, gained powers later in her history, too. Grell may have been more used to the mother's bio.

Sal talked about "The Batman"YESS!!! FINALLY. BTAS is great, it's amazing, it's transcendent, whatever, but damn I love The Batman. Probably my favorite incarnation of the Batman mythos.
I think that was the first Batman cartoon I ever watched. Didn't watch it a ton but I liked the character design.

Grievousish that was a movie. The Batman Vs Dracula. And it's probably the darkest thing from the show. (And probably from a cartoon in general ) joker literally bathes in blood until he's completely black and looks like a vampire demon.

I'm confused. Everyone says that Longbow Hunters is their favorite Green Arrow story but everybody hates the show Arrow because Ollie kills, or did.
And by "everybody" I mean "a few people I talked to."
Mercy's Little Show well he killed and dealt with dark stuff but his personality is still the same. arrow from the show is just like batman in personality so thats why people hate it.
