Great video subscribed light and would love to see everything also the format is perfection THIS VIDEO HAS MADE MY DAY THANK YOU SO MUCH 👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🎼🎵🎼🎼🎼🎹
@@blashuvec Yeah for sure! I'll do a video on using hardware vs software inserts sometime with more details on the possible configurations, and more shots of what is happening on the DAW side. You can do inserts on the board or in Pro Tools, depending how you are using the console. As for routing, it's actually deceptively simple because of the half-normalling on the patch bay. If you send something out of say, "output 11" on PT, that comes up on "multitrack output 11" on the patch bay, which will automatically send to to the Line input of Chanel 11 on the console. As visualized at 1:48. At 7:15 in the video I briefly demonstrate how that "automatic" routing can be changed by manually patching the signal coming out of the computer on "Multitrack Output 3" to "Line Input 13".
sorry to be offtopic but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my password. I love any help you can give me
What is the advantage of having a half-normaled patchbay? Why would you want to keep the unprocessed signal and where does it go when it's split? Does it blend the compressed 1176 sound with the unprocessed signal because it goes into the half-normaled line input? Thanks for the great video!
Actually i bought acoustica audio gold and tought this would be great informative thing cause that plugin has so many "weird" knobs what you cannot find in nowadays plugins. I find this very informative and pleasing 😎🔥 nice job and beautiful console! U should really mic that little speaker 😂
Not really. It's been completely recapped and other than staying up on exercising all the switches and knobs it's relatively maintenance free...knock on wood!
Ive been looking all over the internet for resources to study vintage neve operation. Cant tell you how grateful i am to find this!
Awesome! Glad it’s helpful :)
I was always curious about that tiny speaker! Now I know. Thanks man. This was a really cool overview.
"Let's start by putting an 1176 compressor on the snare. Who can argue with that?" Dig it!

Thanks for this console walkthrough. Very informative, thorough, and no "BS" video. Great work! :-)
Good vid. Keep up
Speaker dying « the Neve tone » 😄
Cool-sounding song.
awesome!! more of these please! especially the routing!!
For sure! What sorta routing stuff you interested in seeing? Things with the patchbay?
@@nofunclub2604 maybe routing the console to PT? and then including inserts maybe? or does the inserts happen on the board?

Hey do you video on how to configure the console for an API 2488? How to set it for record mode?
We don't have an API at the studio unfortunately
Is this a difficult console to maintain?
