  • A lot of critiques I've heard about Buddhism are that it feels like you're disengaging from life. And I believe many people are initially attracted to this path as an escape from life. But the real result of Buddhism, or spiritual awakening in general, is not about sitting perfectly for hours on end with a silly little smile on your face, disengaged from the world. in fact, it's about engaging life in full presence. Eyes wide open.
As Jean-Luc Picard would say: "Engage!"

    What is Spiritual Awakening?
Spiritual Awakening, sometimes called enlightenment, is simply realizing our true nature: the felt sense that we are the cosmos, and the cosmos is us. When we are connected in this way, we become a channel for the universe to flow through us. It liberates us from our cramped personal identities and we become capable of immense compassion, total freedom, and profound peace. This union with Everything is the central teaching of all mystical traditions. But actually living this truth can be difficult, destabilizing, and even frightening - especially if our ego mind is not ready to let go.

Appreciate the video! Very thought provoking. I think it can also be a complicated topic, for example I notice there’s a part of me that has a tendency to be defensive so acting off that is helpful to neither the world nor myself. Seeing the defensiveness come up, I feel it’s best to accept the situation and learn rather than to react. Of course everyone is different, as I said I appreciate you bringing thought to this, I agree that we should use our voice when necessary and walking through the world ignoring it and isolating can also be harmful. The part about life having no meaning while also counting is great too, the paradox of everything being perfectly imperfect :) thank you man! Much love 🙏❤️

Disagree on the conclusion. What 'spontaniously' comes up can be strongly driven by a false sense of self, that feels honest and sincere, but is not that at all.
