There is something in Coreys voice, it's so honest, like the truth, hiding behind words. And no matter what he sings, it always touchs my soul. I just fucking love you guys
It’s fascinating to see how Corey Taylor can be a dark, consistently growling metal vocalist and also a good and melodic singer, and most of all an emotional and beautiful person.
@yourmother3819 As someone who loves deep diving huge words, and one of deep Faith, I have come to believe he's talking about the manipulation by the elites. They package everything they're planning. Pseudo means manufactured, sacrosanct is religious, so I took that to mean the perversion of something originally Holy, twisted to fit their agenda, which let's be honest, fits perfectly with the rest of the song lyrics. "No one else can see the preservation of the martyr in me". I could be totally off, but that's how I interpreted it😅.
Ironically, too ironically - this was my uncle's favorite song when it first came out. In February of 2007, he went into a coma never to recover fully from it. I saw "fully" because after the episode he had, he lasted another 5 months and during the last 2, he couldn't move or speak, but we knew he was cognizant from his facial expressions and the fact that he could open his eyes. My mother would sing this to him because she knew it was his favorite song and tears would flow down his cheeks. Not to mention cringing when he didn't get his pain medicine (that is another story completely on it's own about how nurses and medical staff routinely abuse their patients in convalescent hospitals. Even though his quality of life was shit, we knew he could feel and see and eventually died from his treatment at this "hospital.") The song, to us, was so ironic because of the lyrics and how we felt he was "inside looking out." It had so much meaning to my mother that I played it at her funeral last year. Not a dry eye in the entire house because everyone knew what the meaning of the song meant to us. Just thought I'd share...

LYRICS:
I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh, God, it feels like forever, but no one ever tells you
That forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head
How do you feel? That is the question
But I forget you don't expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes initialized and folded up
Like paper dolls and little notes, you can't expect a bit of hope
So while you're outside looking in, describing what you see

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass

All I know is that it feels like forever, but no one ever tells you
That forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head
How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins, contaminating everything
We thought came from the heart, but never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises, null and void instead of voices
Before you tell yourself, it's just a different scene
Remember it's just different from what you've seen
I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever, but no one ever tells you
That forever feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

I remember seeing Stone Sour and Avenged Sevenfold on a tour right after Slipknot had lost Paul and A7X had lost the Rev... the emotion was real, truly powerful.
I saw them in Madison Wisconsin too
Cory, I was at All Hope is Lost 2009 Inglewood! I dropped down to standing room from top deck. You went through the crowd and said, "MOVE MAGGOTS!" AND YOU JUMPED ON THE SOUND BOOTH NEAR THE HEINIKEN booth! We all made a hole for YOU! Bro! Marine Corps for life!
God I forgot how much I like this song (felt it when the band kicked in)
Был очень удивлён, когда узнал, что эту песню поёт Stone sour, Кори очень талантливый!!
