  • My first tutorial and it is more of a conversation than it is a tutorial. Hopefully you beginners are able to gain something from this though.

Hey there. So, I also got the chetki from aroundsquare but mine are nine beads long and I see yours are eleven. I mean there was an extra pair of beads in the pack but how did you get eleven? Was this custom made and do you think I can still play with it like you do if I have just eight beads long? P.S. When i mean beads I mean the wooden once.

Thank you for making these videos!! Just got baptized in to the Orthodox Church recently and looking for different styles of prayer ropes/beads to keep in my hands (just quit vaping/smoking, so having these around always is amazing way to keep my hands busy and my mind focused in prayer :)

wonderful start tbh, I've gotten too used to how this transition works with begleri [it is more of a roll/switch kind of thing] so this ladder style makes a lot of sense to me for the style of chetki.

Hi, and gl to you)) Dunno how to say...but in Siberia the "free thread distance" on this particular flip rosarys is considered way too big))) is it poular outside Russia and CIS?

Yes. The west has taken the traditional eastern form and has changed a few things. Chetki has now become more known around different regions and I have seen many styles from many countries now. It is quite awesome how a simple rosary has transformed into a fun skill toy becoming more and more known

Interesting because the man who made the chetki in the video has recently started making his own chetkis much tighter with less "free thread distance" and says he likes to play with it better that way.
