This video was filmed 8 weeks before UFC 292 where Sean O'Malley knocked out Aljamain Sterling to become the new UFC Bantamweight Champion. In this feature I follow Sean and Tim Welch around Arizona for 1 week while they prepare for the title fight.
This weekend Sean put on a masterclass and striking clinic in his rematch against rival Marlon “Chito” vera at UFC 299. SUGA defended his title coming away with the unanimous victory. He landed a brutal flying knee in the second round and somehow Chito kept coming forward.
Sean has other notable wins over Petr Yan, Pedro Munoz, Eddie Wineland and of course the former champ Aljamain Sterling.
Chito Marlon Vera has notable wins over UFC Hall of Fame fighters Frankie Edgar and Dominck Cruz.
Next Sean will be looking to defend his title against Merab Dvalishvili or move up in weight to challenge Ilia Topuria to become a 2 division champion.
In a fight that he controlled from the opening round, O'Malley (18-1) outclassed Vera with his quickness, precision striking and footwork.
The champion threw 344 punches, landing more than 50% of them. He was the more active fighter throughout, hurting Vera (23-9-1) with shots to the body, knees to the face, and countering nearly every one of Vera's connections with one of his own.
It was O’Malley’s first defense of his bantamweight title after stopping former champion Aljamain Sterling 51 seconds into the second round at UFC 292 last August.
UFC CEO Dana White called the performance a “clinic" by O'Malley, who is fast becoming one of the biggest stars in the sport. White added that the card was the fourth-highest grossing UFC event ever, with a gate of $14.14 million.
“He's on his way,” White said of O'Malley, who some believe has the star power of Conor McGregor. “He's the biggest star ever in bantamweight history. You can say that right now.”
Vera handed O'Malley the only defeat of his career nearly four years ago by landing a leg kick that caused O'Malley's right foot to go numb in the first round of UFC 252.
O'Malley has often downplayed that loss - the kick shut down the peroneal nerve in his lower leg, causing temporary loss of feeling - and vowed to dominate in the rematch.
"That one feels good getting that one back," O'Malley said. "I’m guessing we can all agree that I’m undefeated still.”
In this documentary we get a look into the mind and lifestyle of Sean as he prepares for the biggest fight of his life.

you can just tell by the way tim talks about sean that he loves coaching him. they are both so blessed to have each other

This is a better insight to Sean and Tim than even the UFC embedded team did. I just watched the UFC embedded & it was pretty frustrating how much they focused on the past. Not showing what Sean does in his day to day life. I feel like it didn't give a good insight into the work they do and the people they are. This actually shows who they are and what they do. Stuff the main media doesn't show. Keep up the great work man just subscribed.

Thank you I appreciate it. The ufc guys don’t follow them around that much. I was personally hanging out with Tim and Sean and training with them too so I got a better inside look

@@stuartcooperfilms it's great to get this inside look that you provided. I really appreciate it. So many people don't realize how focused and committed these guys are. I respect that you trained with them and give us a inside look. I'm really excited to continue to see Sean's evolution. He's easily one of the most entertaining fighters I've ever seen. His potential is still growing and it'll be fun to watch no matter what.

Great video, and as far as the UFC embedded goes they need to sell the fight so whatever that means..

This little doc about Suga Sean is probably the best I have seen because looks like he's himself, likeable and puts his guard down. Unusually relaxed in company of you and Tim here. Iv'e often been very critical of his gimmicks and acts. It's not a nice thing to say, but there is always like he is not being honest when distressed, but you did an excellent job here. I follow the sport and when there are honest Interviews with the fighters where they don't care about viewers opinions like this comment, I can change my mind, relate to them, and get behind them. Both Sean and Timbo look like a miracle team and very relatable.
