Like Raterus says, "if it were that easy". Mine had the same gray adhesive material around both ends of the hose. LG does this because they use cheap parts and KNOW that this will fail eventually. I replaced the hose on mine after one year. The replacement lasted about three weeks. I bought this machine because it had great reviews. In hindsight, I should have left this POS sitting on the showroom floor at Home Depot !!!
