    Thanks for the advice on timing!! I think most people are so excited to go out and buy that machine without considering is it worth it with their current situation!! Thanks again God bless Chase!!!

    My LGS is kind enough to resurface games for me for free. Even if I bring them scratched up games for trade they will run them thru the machine instead of flat out turning them down. Granted, I’m not really a reseller, only to the point of helping to finance my collection. But I’ve picked up tons of great tips from you guys and others, which has helped me build a collection at a fraction of its total value. So even as a collector I really appreciate your channel. Other reseller channels are more about entertainment over education. You guys have a great blend of both aspects. So keep up the great work and thanks I guess lol

    Chase, I really like these videos. I feel like watching these brings your operation really down to earth for us, and ultimately led me to have enough confidence to buy a huge collection (granted, in several trips) priced at over $5000 (40% of value) to resell and so far, its going great, even as a part time reseller. I've learned a lot, fried a Sega Game Gear, repaired dozens upon dozens of consoles, and even got to add a Pikachu N64 and controller to my collection. From one Michigander to another, thank you for all you do for the community.

    Been really tempted to upgrade from a JFJ Easy Pro to one of the Elm machines like the Eco Pro 2 but I just keep struggling with the "subscription card" model that limits how many times you can use the machine.

    Hows your success rate with PS3, Wii U, XBOX 1 and PS4 discs..., I also own a eco pro 2 and to be honest I just polish them with the pads and really don't see a difference, either they work or not,

    I hope the Eco Master is simpler than the Azuradisc Advantage machine I had (15 grand but 100 at a time). you needed a degree in engineering from MIT to keep it operating smoothly. My Advantage came with enough supplies to do 10,000 discs so I got my money's worth but I wouldn't do it again. good luck with your machine

    So i did the same thing; I held onto the messed up games and then eventually got a JFJ easy pro. The issues I'm having now is that the easy pro works, but only like 7/10 of the discs end up working. Some of the discs don't even look bad, its just that the JFJ doesn't buff out the really deep scratches or laser burn. Would you recommend still holding onto them and eventually getting a better machine, like the eco master, or do you think the JFJ is enough and some discs are just too far gone. Thanks!

    • @catrpcrew
      @catrpcrew  2 года назад

      The JFJ is what I started with and does a good job for the price. That being said, if you are In this thing for the long haul and want to grow, it would be worth getting a large stack of nice games and saving up for the eco pro or the auto smart. They do an amazing job

    Tried the Eco Pro 2 and felt like I still was getting quite a bit of swirls on PS1 games so worked with them to return and purchase the EcoSmart. My volume isn’t that high so I don’t mind manually changing the pads. No card to renew, just pads to buy. Paid just under $2k. Email them using the contact on their site and ask for Ralph!

    I want to upgrade from my JFJ Easy Pro to the Eco Pro2. I have a backstock of a few hundred games that need resurfaced because of how inconvenient the JFJ Easy Pro is to use. I'm thinking my plan is to use the JFJ to push through most of the backstock to fund the Eco Pro2.

    • @MrJohnSmalley
      @MrJohnSmalley 2 года назад

      Love the advice about having a backstock of games valued over the purchase of the disk cleaner. Thats exactly what I did with the JFJ Easy Pro. I had easily $500 in video games that needed resurfaced before I bought it.

    It's funny I started doing this business part time during 2020 and the COVID Pandemic. Originally I just sold games where I manually cleaned the disc with some Glasses wipe pads, which obviously didn't last really long because it does nothing on really scratched games. I realized quickly after making money that I had to move into something else. I then moved on to the JFJ Easy Pro, when I eventually started to net $1000+ in sales per month, I realized quickly I needed another machine because the JFJ has a lot of overhead when it comes to cleaning and maintaining, and when I started getting a stack of games it really started becoming a pain.
    So then I moved to a EcoPro2. I only net about $30K sales per year, however I have a full time job that I won't be quitting. So for me (As you stated) it doesn't make sense to pony up for an expensive machine like that and the EcoPro2 definitely does well for my needs. Another thing about these ELM machines is that these things are completely bulletproof and last forever with very little Maintenance. If you go online you'll see people that own these machines for a Decade+.
    Great video, and great advice.

    Keep an eye out on ebay....I've picked up a eco-smart first for about $350 (this is the one you manually change the pads) and a few years later I chanced it and bought an autosmart (dont need to change the pads manually the machine does it on it's own) and while it works... I need to tweak it a bit, or send it for repair / maintenance to do as good of a job as the other...when it is working I'll sell off the other one to pay for this one and then some!

    Wow, I had no ideas that disc cleaners were so expensive! I was thinking about getting one, but $3-$4k is way out of my budget.
    So is it just better to wait until you make enough to make it worth getting the $3-$4k machine? Or are there any sub-$1k disc cleaners that worth it?
    I have a reseller friend that got a $250 cleaner. The next closest one that I know of is a 1 hour drive away at the closest game store.
    Do you think it’s be worth giving the $250 cleaner a try or should I steer clear until I have access to a better one?

    • @catrpcrew
      @catrpcrew  2 года назад

      Up to you! The 250 dollar one is likely a JFJ. Those are Bette than nothing and can fix some scratched games. There is also the eco pro 2 that runs for closer to 1000 and does a pretty good job

  • @rossman272

    An alternative solution that I shared on the discord. Check with your local game stores. They may have an eco resurfacer. 2 of mine locally do. If I resurface 3 or less games they don’t even charge me. I take high dollar games to them and use a jfj to buff only. I more than meet the criteria for buying the machine but sometimes you can save a lot by networking. But hey I have a box guy too…. (Inside joke w/ chase) 😂

  • @deadlybossbros5222
    @deadlybossbros5222 2 года назад +2

    Would have to disagree here a little bit. When starting out with reselling I invested in a jfj easy pro. This machine took away from so much production time it was unreal. I had 100s of discs waiting to be cleaned which would normally take days. I called elm a month or two back and currently they are taking trade ins which include machines that aren’t theirs. I traded in my jfj pro and they gave me 200 in credit. I bought a refurbished eco pro 2 with gamecube attachment and extra pads, which are washable so another big money save. I was able to clean every disc I had in one after noon and cleared 2k in sales that following weekend. I will never go back to any other machine. If you are new to reselling do not put yourself in a money sink of bad resurfacers 300 might sound cheap but broke several high dollar games on me. It’s worth it in the end to spend the money on something nice that will dramatically change your business. Approaching 20k in sales this year as first year.

      Refurbished eco pro 2 extra pads and gamecube attachment with trade in for jfj. Whole set up costed 1300 bucks

      @ChaseAfterTheRightPrice 2 года назад

      I think we generally agree. The only difference is when to buy one. Your circumstance was a bit unique since you bought a cheaper machine in the eco pro and already had a significant pile of games to clean. I think if the pile of games is significant and your sales are trending up, it definitely makes sense to get one even if sales are below six figures. Nice job and great purchase!

    • @SuperKMx
      @SuperKMx 2 года назад +1

      I agree with you. The only investment I made other than stock and packing material at the start was in an Eco Pro 2 with the Gamecube attachment. I would recommend it as the first thing to buy when starting out. Less than $1000 here in the UK for a refurbished unit. I would have had a lot of stock coming in that would have been worthless without it. Plus it gives you the ability to buy slightly rougher collections at better prices because everybody else looks past them because they have no way of cleaning them up.
      Also, they hold their price pretty well so if it all goes wrong... :D
