You are a lifesaver! I am in the process of reupholstering the seats and upon reassembling the seat, I couldn’t understand why one of my wires (the one closest to the door) didn’t quite reach the hinge! Then when I looked at your lever (internal view) I noticed that I had threaded the steel part through the wrong hole! Mystery solved!!!! Also, it’s much easier to detach those wires when the car seat has had its covers removed (as in my case) and you don’t have to bend them! I should have made a RUclips video, but way too much swearing! Thanks again from Australia.
Were your seat struts in good shape? My recline release cable seems to be fine but I ordered new struts to install. Thinking of just doing the cable now too while I have it all opened up
Thanks for watching. The struts were tolerable, but ultimately need replacing. I agree, since it’s open, refurbish what you can. Hope you’re project goes smoothly!!

A nice cleaning and greasing of the seat mechanism does wonders.
I completely agree!!! So often overlooked. It’s nice now driving with a seat that has both hinges working. Thanks for watching!!
