Hi Nick love the guitar and your son so talented..I have a question.I always see you pouring the silicon molding not measurements or putting one to one from both parts..I would like to know if that mix just pour and mix only or you just know by experience what you need..
My dad passed back in April and growing up he always had a workshop full of tools and projects. Seeing you toil away to make things for your family has always been fun, but now it really hits home. You are making memories with them that they will cherish long after you are gone and they've grown old. It's heartening to know things like that are still happening in the world
Nick, can I say that I really appreciate that you've been taking the time to get a high gloss finish on your projects? I know that sanding and polishing is nobody's favourite activity, but the end result looks immensely better. Cheers.
too bad pick guard is solid black and hides SO much of your design: please cut out clear plexiglass guard and ADD to the unique beauty of your design, not hide it!
My boyfriend introduced me to you years ago, he passed away in February, but I still love to watch your video's. One of my favorite projects that I've seen of yours in a while, and Charlie, keep up the practice, you will be an amazing guitarist if you keep practicing. Keep the amazing projects coming, absolutely love you both!
I'm so sorry for your loss and he's still watching the videos with you I bet he always watching over you and loved ones everyday🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 prayers to you and your loved ones❤️❤️❤️
Oh mans! Charlie's got some pretty dope playing skillz. And love seeing the support you have for him, just super wholesome! Thanks for another rocking and psychedelic video Nick! 🤘🏼
I wonder what it would look like if you poured a super thin sheet of colored resin and then shattered it into a bunch of tiny pieces and then put the pieces into a clear resin. It may look really cool, like stained glass suspended in resin!
He played Back In Black, Iron Man and Bohemian Rhapsody. Not Layla, so maybe that's why you thought he should slow down, lol. He did good on Bohemian Rhapsody, which is hard to play because of the bends.
Love this, omg how grown up is Charlie he’s great on the guitar . They grow up way to fast don’t they. My daughter has just finished her GCSEs off to college in September. It’s been a hard last year for them. Good luck Charlie x
As a guitarist, you'd think you would have noticed that he swapped in a premade neck instead of the one he showed himself cutting. He straight up lied about this build.
I would take the black pick guard off and add a clear one made of either the clear resin you used or maybe clear plexiglass. This way you don't hide the beauty of your hard work. Now that I think of it, if there is a newer player playing it, having the black pick guard could make it easier to see the strings. But once that's not needed, the clear pick guard would help reveal everything hidden. The guy playing didn't seem to need it. He's pretty darn good!!
Truth time - I've been watching your channel for YEARS. I know I'll never make any of the things you make because I simply have no desire to, but your creativity and the comfort I get from your videos are unmatched. Thank you for your content!
Just wanted to say: you have inspired me as a maker. Peter Brown got me into using resin, but YOU, sir, got me to try funky things with it. I've created things now that would not have existed without your videos. Thank you.
Nick, I love seeing the relationship you have with your son. It's great to see you support his interests and talents. It's obvious you're very proud of him. A lot of kids don't get the kind of positive reinforcement you give him. That's very important to him becoming a confident and capable adult. You're a great father as well as a great craftsman. I love watching you. Keep it up!
Haha! Rock on Charlie! That needs to stay in the family, it will be special to him for his whole life. Happy days! You have so much room, and everything in the world to make things. You should totally make your own TV show where you cast 10 People to make something of your choosing, and have a couple of celebraty crafting Judges that kick one person a week. You could let the winner work with you or get a prize at the end. You could pitch it to the director of the show that you worked on. I know that it would be a big hit with you producing it ♥
No it has the exact same split at the top of the headstock all the way through the video. The split annoyed me the whole time and you see it at the end of the video…
That was a GREAT video. All around. And today is Father's Day so very appropriate. I cherished whenever my Dad influenced my life and choices. The best advice I ever had came from him.
Looks great, the black pick guard makes great contrast with the bricks and chrome and with its boldness also maintains the guitars contours well against the random brick lines.
this is the best, most artistic resin casting ive ever seen, aside from what my dad did back in the 60s. stunning, and very creative, and a perfect use of legos.
This is awesome, I’ve watched 2 Lego guitars in one week! Well BurlsArt made a bass guitar out of Legos but it still counts. Plus you made it in totally different styles it compliments each other.
You should make him a few guitars, so he has different ones to choose from. He is amazing for such a short time learning to play. You did an absolutely amazing job for your son. Thank you so much for sharing this video xx
Wow Nick, it appears that your not alone in the field of the arts‼️ Charlie takes after pops. 👍🏼 Spectacular guitar and also sounds great‼️ BRAVO to both you and Charlie. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐☮️
How old is Charlie! Haven't seen him in a long while. He's so grown up! My son plays 🎸 also. He's 19, taught himself about 4 years ago. I think he would like this guitar.
Edit: 2 typos. Imagine making a guitar out of coloured resin & filling it with things like sand, artificial seaweed (I suspect real seaweed will rot & smell), shells, fake fish & shellfish. An underwater guitar would look cool. 🐚🦀🐟🌊
Kiwami Japan did something similar with a resin kitchen knife ("sharpest UV Resin kitchen knife in the world", hV2YiRewrpk) and the effect looks great!
Aww sweet dad, it doesn’t get anymore personal then that! what a beautiful and gorgeous guitar you did an awesome job, I’m sure Charlie will treasure it for life 💝
Why is Charlie growing up so fast!!? Also, that was absolutely amazing! The project and the playing. Love the guitar. I'm hoping Charlie gets to keep it, yes? ;)
Acrylic guitars used to be massive in the late 90s when I started playing guitar and I really wanted one. then they went out of fashion which made me sad :-( lol I think I have to make one after seeing this cool video!
Having built a few guitars from scratch myself, you under-emphasized the challenges of building the neck from scratch. The nut slot part was good, but what about how you did the truss rod, the fretboard radius, the slotting for the frets (indeed a very critical part of any build), fret installation, fret markers, etc... Truthfully, I think there's more to making that neck than there was to making that body. In fact with the way your editing went, it almost looks as if you started to make a neck that looks similar to semi-complete ones that you can buy online, and then abra-cadabra! you have a neck that looks exactly like some that you can buy online. I absolutely love this video because of the project, but for a fan of wood-working and instruments, I felt slightly cheated out of witnessing some of the bigger challenges to the project as a whole. Also it could deceive someone into thinking it is easier than it really is. Great content, this is the very first video of yours I've ever watched. Thank you for being on RUclips!
Exactly! No disrespect here for that amazing work in the body, but to build a neck from scratch, that alone is a way bigger challenge. Anyway, great work!
I was thinking the exact same thing. When he started on the neck I thought: really, he's doing a neck from scratch?!?! And then the next thing we see is a semi finished neck and in the end, when fully finished it is fretted and has a truss rod. So I too think that he swapped it out in the end for a bought one. But who knows (well I guess Nick himself does).
100% agree with this. Add to that, I couldn't see any cut out on the back of the neck to take the truss rod either. My son has asked if we can do something similar, which I'm going to look into. Our idea is to use a Pacifica 112 as the base build guitar for moulding, which means we'll also have a neck from which to work with. There is no way I would want to start trying to make a neck.
Im VERY impressed in Charlies guitar playing!! Hes got a great talent, that will carry him far. I hope, if he wants, that he continues playing and getting better. Maybe we are witnessing the birth of the fantastic player in an amazing band!🎸🎶
wow i will have to say.. sometimes you get into a project hopoing it will turn out ok... and happy if it reaches a standard thats even playable.. but you knocked this out of the park man. for a theme guitar, this turned out absolutly stunning. WELL DONE pops . Dad of the year for sure!!! :) hope you and your son enjoy this for years to come. or sell for charity.
Great. Now make a hollow resin body, with a screw on cap somewhere, then fill it with plectrums, so when we lose our last pick, we can screw off the little lid, and shake a few out. Make a recess somewhere to hold a slide. ( Fit a coricidin bottle in the slide recess, so you can just poke your finger in when you change to slide. ) You'll be on another winner! Keep on trucking. The kid has mad skills on that guitar!

How many dad’s can make their son a working guitar. What an awesome dad! Beautiful work by the way!!
Brian May’s dad for one.
He didn't make anything but the body. Showed himself cutting a neck and then switched to a premade. Dude's a sham
