I drove past Blocks 29 and 31 Toa Payoh, tonight (15 Aug) and noticed that there were no lights in the buildings. Seems like they cut off the power for them. Might be demolished by the end of this year.
Lift A is still operational as usual, Lift B has it's doors pried open slightly, but the indicator still indicates the floor, block and lift as usual. Lights are not turned on. Lift C indicates it suffered a power failure.
I think the block is still open. As I mentioned in the description there were no gates installed at the stairwells when I visited. The block is probably closing sometime next month.
@@weireanfilmslifts2401 I don’t know. There’s no signs around the block which state the official closing date as with most HDB blocks getting closed for demolition. Just go by the end of this month to be safe.
@@weireanfilmslifts2401 I just visited today, and it appears that the blocks only have a few more days left before they’re fully closed. I suggest you visit by this Sunday. At Blk 29 only the all stop lift (Lift C) is in operation with both stairwells locked by cheap gates, and at Blk 31 only lift A is in operation with 2 of the 3 stairwells locked.
i missed the old 1 door fujitec elevator so much

April 2023 is over!
Wow, this has the indicators replaced, Toa Payoh is known for their lifts having their original indicators up till their death.
Don't forget about Block 56 range there
Block 91 and 96 Otises have theirs replaced too.
Rental blocks to be cleared? I wonder where they shifted the resident to
I think they can choose which rental flats they want to take up provided there’s vacancies or they can buy a HDB unit.
Has it closed down yet?
