Duck: I've never seen (insert any reference) before Average viewer on your channel: 9:09 oh..... come on...... Still though, this episode remains as a classic and this series still rocks
To get away from this childhood trauma, may I suggest checking out a more calming NC review next week. Try his video on Bridge to Terabithia; nothing scarring in that film what-so-ever.
04:05 Kyle's memories start flooding back. Hopefully the memories of other cartoons that have been repressed will come back from this jolt to the neurons~ Also yes, this episode traumatized me. After I had my first sleep paralysis experience at 4, I became afraid of the dark and my imagination kept imagining things outside. Like the giant Abiyoyo from that one episode of Between the Lions. Or in this case, King Ramses.
If you haven't seen it already, the Courage Episode "The Mask" also has a Dark Toons" episode dedicated to it, which is disturbing in a...realistic way.
I forgot the episode name, but The Great Fecilie was probably the most unnerving ending wise for me since it was the last episode of that season as well as ended with Courage playing with what could be considered the corpses of Muriel and Usterse.
I personally didn't find Ramses scary at all when I was younger. Buuut, seeing him just standing there all episode was hella unsettling. You never know if he was going to lunge at the audience.
I swear I'm the only one I know who wasn't terrified of this episode. While my friends were having nightmares, I literally had a dream about me king Ramses, Donald Duck, and Arthur the Aardvark (Don't ask IDK either), sitting down in all having tea together.
While im still a little bitch when it comes to jump scares and other stuff. Courage the cowardly dog did get me more into...creepy kinds of horror i guess. Ones that don't just rely on jumpscares are my favorite and creep me out more and i love things like that. M3GAN was a decent example but I can't think of much else at the moment.
I still say the Weremole episode was the scariest Courage episode. To be fair, it was a time I had nightmares about a wereduck and a were- I think it was a tasmanian devil (the real one, not the Looney Tunes one). Freaky Fred was... creepy but not scary. With that in mind: then "Night at the Katz Motel" is the scariest for me. I'm not arachnophobic, but DAMN I still shivers at those that were in that episode
When I saw the ghost again years later I was surprised to find my memory had played tricks on me because I thought he was a lot more obscured by fog and more in the distance.
Yep, that haunting droning moan like voice of death itself, the unnatural uncanny valley CGI movement, that skeletal face & tendril like hair that move like it has a mind of it's own. My 5 year old self is wetting himself in my subconscious as we speak 😂
I'm pretty sure Doug hasn't seen Courage prior to reviewing these episodes. I recall he did a series of videos in the past talking about his experience with cartoons growing up and he said that towards the end of the '90s (I think he mentions Hey Arnold as an example of this era) he lost touch with cartoons and wasn't watching them much anymore.
Tbh I was never scared of this episode. In fact, it was my absolute favorite! The episode I was scared of though is House Of Discontent. The episode with that gaint white floating head with the black eyes! 😱
Hey duck! Love your content! I was wondering, if you have any interest, could you react to scp related content? If you are but don’t know where to start. I could give you some pointers
@@theduckgoesmoo great! We’ll just in case you wanna look into it, here are the channels I recommend, thevolgun, the exploring series, and Mr illustrated are your best bet when it comes to learning about scp, if you don’t mind staring at images the whole time. Channels you should probably stay away from are scp explained (that one isn’t that bad, just clickbaity), Dr. Bob, detective void, and the rubber, especially the rubber
Definitely thinking Batman Forever next week. More Dark Toons in October would be cool, but you definitely would enjoy his review of Tales From The Crypt, Demon Knight. (There's a Hereditary reference!)
Those Dark Toons analysis videos are great and really interesting. One of my favorite series on Channel Awesome, Perfect is a TERRIFYING episode if you have never seen it and it's- no pun intended- a perfect choice for a video releasing near or even ON Halloween. It's the last episode of the series and it's about Courage facing this teacher that represents what he thinks of himself, particularly his imperfections. And that nightmare in the third act of the episode 🥶🥶🥶🥶 The Mask, another Courage episode, is also really great and creepy but it's also a lot more darker and serious than most episodes about confronting/dealing with trauma especially in abusive romantic relationships. That was so intense and important that they split it into a two-parter and to my knowledge the ONLY two-parter in the entire series
Fun fact, the song used for the 2nd plaque was created to be one of the most annoying song they could think of. After the episode aired, it wound up being a very catchy one by the audience instead.
This episode never scared me when I was a kid and was quite surprised after I've heard so many people were terrified by it. There were other Courage episodes that scared me much more.
The voice of King Ramses' is John R. Dilworth, the creator, writer, director, and producer of Courage the Cowardly Dog himself.
Well he gave himself one of the more creepier characters ☠️
"King Ramses' Curse" became a Bonus Cartoon for the VHS Release of Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders 23 Years Earlier.
😊😊😊
"Who voiced that?"
The voice for King Ramses is the creator of the show, John R. Dilworth

Didn’t Doug cover one more Courage episode on Dark Toons?
We can save future Dark Toons as extra video for the Halloween season of October. Let's get back to some actual Nostalgia Critic.
Wow...people were actually SCARED of King Ramses? I am surprised 😮
Everyone is scared by different things.
Duck, what would happen if you got the slab
I’d ask what the offer was
I’m pretty sure everyone here has seen this episode and had nightmares.
Except my girlfriend apparently
@@theduckgoesmoo cause apparently she’s made of stone.

i think the official playlist has 51 videos for dark toons
Oh wow that’s great news!
I did not realize *HE* was here 😢

100%
THE PHARAOH'S CURSE
Probably the 3rd creepiest Courage episode to me. Right behind Freaky Fred and Perfect.
I forgot the episode name, but The Great Fecilie was probably the most unnerving ending wise for me since it was the last episode of that season as well as ended with Courage playing with what could be considered the corpses of Muriel and Usterse.
What about "Not a farmer" ghost?
For me it was the most scariest one, when I was a kid
The original pharaohs curse xd
4:05 Hahahahaha, you may have been traumatized by this as a kid Kyle, but I just enjoyed the ride man. Ah those were the days 😏
I might be a twisted kid back then cuz I wasn't scared at all, I just laughed every time courage screams or laugh.
I personally didn't find Ramses scary at all when I was younger.

WHAT'S YOUR OFFER
Larrywinwood top 10 most wanted death battle
As we wait for Toonami and Kids WB, the Bridge to Terabithia review would be great before Nostalgia-Ween
Are you gonna do more dark toons for a while I want you to look at his review of the pest
I loved this show as a child, I watched it everyday. Maybe you're just weak sauce.
Duck sauce?
I always loved the "KING RAMSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!" part of the song.
When I saw the ghost again years later I was surprised to find my memory had played tricks on me because I thought he was a lot more obscured by fog and more in the distance.
This traumatized me too
There was nothing this particular type of creepy out at the time and the internet wasn't a thing really so this stuck in everyones heads
Yep, that haunting droning moan like voice of death itself, the unnatural uncanny valley CGI movement, that skeletal face & tendril like hair that move like it has a mind of it's own.
My 5 year old self is wetting himself in my subconscious as we speak 😂
This was one of the only episodes to scare me as a kid. Good to know I'm not the only one.

Day Two Hundred and Twenty Nine of asking for a reaction to Max0r's MGR inaccurate summarization.

That's a... way to pronounce Ramses.
King Ramses still creeps me out every time I watch Courage the Cowardly Dog.

If this episode scared you as a kid, you were soft and weak 😂. That shit was hilarious, not scary.
Alright. Now do Darktoons- Organ Harvest
Fun fact, the song used for the 2nd plaque was created to be one of the most annoying song they could think of.

This episode is nostalgic to me, cause I remember having a nightmare with King Ramses after watching the episode.
This episode never scared me when I was a kid and was quite surprised after I've heard so many people were terrified by it. There were other Courage episodes that scared me much more.
Hello
I also was never scared or found courage the cowardly dog creepy but this episode always creeped me out and only this episode any other and I'm fine
Please do
Batman Forever - Nostalgia Critic
