Hey welcome back bud, u have some of the best information out there on getting started as an owner operator, I’m looking for a new ford transit or Mercedes sprinter and 100% there’s no deals out there, 60k-70k! For either one
Glad you are still around Allan because I missed your videos but family and running your business needs to come before making videos so I pray that your efforts were successful. As someone who has been making baby steps towards getting into this industry I have found you channel to be a wealth of great info. The one thing I wish I could find regular info on is market rates for this sector of the industry. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one that would enjoy regular short (3-5mins) market reports a few times a month.
Alan, Thank you for the truth. Thank you for the education. Thank you for validating what I have decided is the way I do something. You be you. I'm glad you're here for us.
Hi allen, good to see you back, I'm the semi truck driver that met you at the petro in Perrysburg last summer. I spoke with you on the phone last winter to let you know I was interested in buying a van and putting in on with you. Well I bought a 2023 Ford 350 extended transit about a month ago and paid sticker price, that was here in detroit. I have since brought it down to reds custom designs and had him do quite a bit of work on it. I'm still in my semi, figure I'll keep driving it until things get a little bit better.i'll be in touch then, good luck to you

Anybody on the spot market right now is a bottom feeder especially general freight.. I’m still hanging in there but carriers have to stand there ground right now. Squeeze all the juice out of lemon.. these brokers are holding us to the flame right now because they can. You are right volumes are way down and too many mc. God bless everybody and only the Strong and low cost is gonna survive this storm, unfortunately.
As far as these van people it’s very possible that they make the money they claim. Some are with a courier and use five different delivery apps that operate 24/7. Most are working 18 to 20 hours a day.
Hey. I like your videos. I have a question about picking a van vs. a straight truck vs. tractor. Seems like tractors would be best for load availability and lifestyle. Being OTR in a sprinter has to be rough. Why go that route? With no logs, seems like youre getting no protection against being run ragged. That wouldn't be so bad if the money was better, but it seems to be a bit worse. Am I missing something?
I work a Sat/Sun/Mon job. Can I work as a owner operator cargo driver Tue-Fri and be profitable? Also make sure I’m back home by Fri so I can work my weekend job? I’m afraid I will get stuck on the road and not have a load back. I’m scared of taken that risk. I will likely have to do OTR, because I don’t live in busy area.
Dallas is still okay but don't go anywhere else in Texas! I just sat for 3 days in Houston before dead heading back to Dallas and got something in just a few hours up there. Also I wouldn't say that things are a whole lot better at the big carriers. I know somebody that left XPO recently because he said he just couldn't get any work. Personally I'm with what I consider to be the best of the big carriers by far and I'm still struggling mightily. It's doggy dog out here for sure and there's no end in sight. I was on the verge of adding a van or two of my own and searching for drivers, now everything's on hold for the foreseeable future. Much like you I'm not going to hire somebody and set them off in a cargo van when they're only going to make $4-500 a week living on the road. What I still turn the profit? A little. Would a driver go bankrupt trying to work for that? Unless they were homeless to begin with for sure.
Hey Allen. I am about to sign as a independent contractor with a company located in FL and they said they give consistent loads at $1-$1.30 for loads that are good areas and .70-$1.00 for bad areas. Should I sign with this company and give it a shot this summer. I am about to get a Mercedes sprinter 2017 used at 32k mileage and for $34000. It is a diesal and extended high roof. What are your thoughts on the rates with the company, and the van I am getting in a few weeks. As well as the PNW(pacific northwest). I am located in Portland and going to be going all over hopefully. They do offer much more for box trucks and straight trucks. Please let me know.
Missed you Pimp. My wife said whatever happened to “the van guy videos?!” Also ever in the Chicago area. We got 2 extra rooms with a private bathroom and bed. If you wanna shack up for a few days when your on the road.
Allen. It’s good to see you back brother. And yes, rates out here are garbage, which tells me that someone’s pockets are getting lined, because mine aren’t. Anyway, good to see you man.
As a cargo van driver. I can confirm. My pockets are staying stuffed daily for the last 2 months I've been doing this. Fuq brokies doing jobs less than $1per mile. And the people telling others to do the same.
One thing I’ve always liked about you Allen, is that your a genuine person both on and off camera/social media. Only had the pleasure of chatting with you on the phone once, but your advice is always sound, honest and for the better good of the person your giving it to. Can’t say that for ALOT of the so called “Gurus” out here taking advantage of those less knowledgeable to benefit themselves. When you started ranting about certain players in this game, 2 people came to mind lmao. I’ll give you a clue both are from cities that Start with “C” and their names are both 5 letters long and ironically start with “J” 😂😂 I know you know! Anyways, thank you for what you bring to the industry and thanks even more for being the one who genuinely wants to help people. You are and always will be the GOAT to many of us out here.
Go into Canada and back. You can charge more. That Expedite travels guy said he made 5k last week. He’s been around a long time, so I think it’s legit. Also Expediting America has videos on here. He’s doing very well. He pays this dispatch service that finds him good loads.
@@EverythingApax I am working like a animal as a stat courier and occasionally use Miller’s Express sprinter to do shuttles. I got shit canned at my other job. When they cut my pay $1000 a week to bring on board two new drivers they expected me to sit around the house for a call to cover a local route. I just didn’t answer the phone one day and they fired me from the night run. I lost $2k a week plus $400 every other weekend. Now I have to work all night for $1.68 a mile because it’s .94 cents loaded from 7am to 10pm. I still do a few day runs from 4pm on, but try to do majority of miles after 10pm. This far only one $2,100 check and one $1,100.00. About 5 just under a thousand.
So, is this a bad time to get into expediting? I am very interested in doing this, and I do not need a full income. I just really enjoy being on the road, and yes I would like to supplement my income. I am located just outside of Nashville, TN. I would love to be able to expedite around the SE, NE, and Mid-West. I would love to hear your thoughts on my situation. I do enjoy your straight talk, I am not the type to sit around listening to BS! Looking forward to your reply…
If like trucking, the market is oversaturated in vans and freight volume is low, just like he stated in the beginning of the video. You need direct customers. I parked my truck, and am working as a driver for a carrier with direct shippers. It is no different in this van freight. If you want to get into this, wait until the market has collapsed, and then get in. I would not right now. You would be better off doing handyman work or something like that in your local area.
Finally we hear it from the horses mouth. You right rates shitty loads few and far between. You got to be creative with it. I had to get a part time job to keep up. I used to get 1800 from Wisconsin to Laredo depending on the time u cam barely get 12 or 13
I think if you are a Christian ✝️ you will always have loads and will be blessed. God Jesus blesses his children ❤ I have seen lately that the Christians are staying very busy with the good loads and rates ✝️🙏❤️
Warn us on the breaks...dont leave us hangin

😏 If you know you know! Lol. I truly appreciate everything you said, and I take pride in doing what I can to help.
Van is expensive in California
Should I buy or wait
If you need a driver I’m looking to drive for a fleet owner. I have one year experience otr I live in Indiana.
U r honest man
Go into Canada and back. You can charge more. That Expedite travels guy said he made 5k last week. He’s been around a long time, so I think it’s legit. Also Expediting America has videos on here. He’s doing very well. He pays this dispatch service that finds him good loads.
I'm familiar with both. Thank you! How are things going for you?
About 5 just under a thousand.
might be a good time to refinance one's rig, eh?
😲
It’s been a slow man, we don’t make shit
Lmao, are you paying attention on what’s he saying? No is the answer and he is not the only one saying this ! Browse RUclips not just his channel!
@amargacanica1042 you're 100% correct. Go and search out more information.
EVER TRIED. EVER FAILED. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better. - Samuel Beckett
That is the attitude we all need. Thank you.

Why do you think it's so bad now? Inflation?
Our entire country is screwed right now. A large number of corporations are down by 50% in sales.

High ethics are treated like poop in the pot in American business nowadays. Why is that?
Atlanta died off this year
