In this video, I will discuss some temporary visa options with work rights that may allow you to extend your stay in Australia. If you are on a graduate visa, student visa or working holiday visa, these are some visa options that may be available to you.

In this video we will not be discussing the different permanent general skilled migration visas (Such as Skilled Independent, State or Regional Nominated). We will also not discuss student visas, partner visas, or being added to your partner's visa.

The Employer Sponsored Temporary Skilled Shortage Visa (TSS) - Subclass 482 - The TSS visa is the most common visa used by companies to sponsor employees in Australia. It is a temporary visa that allows employees to work for a nominated employer on a full time basis.
Training Visa (Subclass 407) - The Training Visa (Subclass 407) allows you to work for your sponsor in your job whilst undertaking in a structured training program. Although it is a training visa, most applicants must be paid, and there is lower entry requirements for this visa compared the standard TSS visa.
COVID Stream 408 Visa - Temporary Work Visa - In response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, immigration announced a new stream of the subclass 408 visa, specifically for temporary visa holders who are stuck in Australia with a visa expiring. This visa may allow temporary visa holders to apply for a visa to remain in Australia lawfully and can come with work rights.

Hi! Nick, currently I’m on Bridging-A and waiting for my student visa. My previous visa was 407 training visa. Please suggest me can I work full time until my student visa grants because my bridging visa-A has same condition(8102) that of my previous 407 visa.

Hello, thanks a lot for your video.
I will be applying for the temporary activity religious substream visa shortly. One of the visa conditions I know is that you cannot extend your stay in Australia by extending the visa.
Please, I'll like to know what other possible options do I have to stay in Australia beyond the time given by the temporary activity visa?

If there is a no further stay condition on your visa it is extremely difficult to get this waived.

Thanks for the great information, although some questions regarding the covid 19 visa extension. Suppose I am currently holding a COVID-19 Pandemic event visa and working in the food processing sector. Is it possible to extend the COVID-19 Pandemic event visa in total more than 12 months?
If only possible for a maximum of 12 months, In that case, is this total max 12-month duration will be counted from the first covid visa application date or the visa grant date?

We can’t go for a TSS straight from student visa
As in we need to have a skill assessment done
And skill assessment needs work experience (payslips etc)
Even training visa 407 will need 1 year experience
