OH MY GOD!!!!! Superstar is the best, just awesome heel. My absolute favorite wrestler. Could listen to his promos and watch his matches hundreds of times. Somehow gets better each time. Simply timeless. Damn I thought wrestling was real at this time. And as a 10 year old kid, while watching gcw, this was as real as it got. This made me believe. A true LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Superstar.
I grew up watching wrestling and would see a few masked wrestlers get behind the mic and talk but none were as articulate as the Superstar. He knew how to talk.
I just wish some black guy would come out and do it just to drive all the race-whiners, poverty pimps and race hucksters IN-sane. I'd start watching wrestling all over again (at 56) just to see and hear their "anguish."
Nephew. On Mid-Atlantic wrestling Burrhead was severely injured by Blackjack Mulligan, which led to a program with Rufus R. "Freight Train" Jones. However, they had to tone it back some because BJ was getting attacked by fans at the shows.
@@mkl62 I saw an interview with Burrhead and he said he was married to Rufus' cousin and was billed as Rufus' cousin when it seems they had no blood relationship.
@@mkl62 I saw the episode, right after he and RRJ took credit for unmasking Super D (my fav all time wrestler)...which turned out later to be somewhat questionable how all that went down (per radio interview I heard with late Super D/Spoiler Don jardine). But as a kid I was delirious to see Burrhead get destroyed.
Burrhead jones went also by jimmy jones in some territories , was a main event star for billy golden , a star in gulf coast, for nick gulas and the fullers in continental...at one time you could take him to montgomery alabama and people knew who he was, he was that over...great enhancement wrestler in his later years , like a mike jackson , a chic donavan , guys who were in it just because they loved their jobs....and did their jobs to get other talent over....
Political correctness right out the window! Damn! The "Superstar" was probably the greatest "heel" in the history of pro-wrestling! I loved hating him!
Or Bobo (Brazil). Almost sounds like Bumbo (Little Rascals). Plus, in a promo from back then, Ric Flair told Tiger Conway, Jr. that he was going to give him Excedrin Headache #1 and that "I'll have you crying for yo' Mammy, Boy!" How would that go over today?
If Burrhead had been a top wrestling star back in the 70's & 80's there would be a lot of kids named after him now. I only got to see him on tv a couple of times and he was a jobber in preliminary matches. Blackjack Mulligan beat him up and ran him out of Jim Crockett's Mid Atlantic area.
Masked Superstar was one of the most underrated heels ever! Top notch promos and ring skills mixed with tremendous ring psychology.

Look how crisp Superstar looks. Just awesome. He was my favorite as a kid.
Its a shame that burrhead jones is still not in the hall of fame.
Masked superstar was a great heel.
Great gimmick, very mysterious and evil.
Edie was in amazing shape! Best masked wrestler and talker on the mic!
I grew up watching wrestling and would see a few masked wrestlers get behind the mic and talk but none were as articulate as the Superstar. He knew how to talk.
Masked Assassin was quite a gifted talker as well. He and Superstar teamed up with Super D in GCW, you remember that?
Agreed 💯! I understand that he was a school teacher, so it fits. 👍
Damn Eadie looked bad ass! Need more of these guys today.
The Masked Superstar was a friggin beast.
Superstar in great shape. Tough to see him today or even in demolition when physique went south.

I think Burrhead Jones cousin was Rufus R. Freight Train Jones.

I beat a lot of “ his” people lol
I beat a lot of his people. No way you could get away with saying that now
Masked Superstar was one of the best in the world !
Gordon Solie and Lance Russell were the two best announcers.
Burr Head was renamed Big Mistake
I beat a lot of his people? Damn
The Superstar always wrestles top contenders like Burrhead Jones. Unlike Dusty Rhodes or Mr Wrestling 2 he never scheduled easy opponents.
uhh...Burrhead was a buffoon, sir.
Burrhead was a idiot
That man is just baad and cold blooded
Superstar jut manhandled his guy and used him like a rag doll .
Why stop now? Would have Loved to have seen Superstar hook up with the Big Cat!
Darn, for a minute there, I thought Burrhead was gonna win this one.
damn the Superstar was jacked
Obviously Tony g didn’t make it back
We used to call my pop pop Burr head when he had his crew cuts
Burrhead is a racial slur
Political correctness right out the window! Damn! The "Superstar" was probably the greatest "heel" in the history of pro-wrestling! I loved hating him!
The Big Cat as a face? Wild!
Oh yeah , Ernie Ladd worked both sides often

Burrhead Jones a fine jobber.
No way you could say Burr Head today.

I'll never forget the day I saw Mulligan do that on Sat morning Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, c.'74-'75.
