    I had these on my 335i E92 6MT and they were really good. I couldn't believe the grip for the price and how quiet they were for the aggressive tread pattern. Rain is a different story though, they get a bit sketchy if there's a lot of water on the road. Nice and predictable at the limit on the track too but they won't last very long at those high temps.

      Fair enough in the rain they are a 6 out of 10.

    Been running these on my 335i e92 for years. 275 rears and 235 front. Gone through 4 sets in the rears and 2 sets in the front. Awesome value for performance and life. Had Michelin pilot super sports before and burned through them like butter. These last me longer.

    My experience on 500whp rwd 340i is Firestone indy 500 are trash 5/10. Bad grip, breakaway, and shoulder wear. LOUD.
    Go for Falken azenis fk510. Very grippy and progressively breaking tire and quieter. 9/10.

    Man, I can't believe they are shipping the RWD models with square set up 225s and those crap Turanza all-seasons! I know you can get Michelin PS4S, but none of the M340i I saw on the lot had them. I also went with Firehawks on my M340i and they are a huge improvement and an excellent value vs. something like the PS4S.

    I use Petlas Velox Sports. They are branded as budget tires because of the price, but they are made by the largest company of Turkey that supplies airline and military tires with NATO standards. They are cheaper than premiums and give pretty good grip (soft compound). They look like Michelin Pilot Sports bevause of that. They wear out quicker for the same reason (just like other soft tires), but the good price compensates that. Most of the time I’m not abusing the tires so for a good price I get Michelin pilot sport like grip. Not sure if they are available in the states, but they are here in Europe.
    That ‘slime kit’ is a starter pack on my BMW too!
    Keep the vids coming, cheers.

    As always great info! I'm kinda waiting for my run flats to loose a bit more tread. They are original to the car but I've only hit 56k on them and they show now signs of wanting to give up. Here in northern Virginia the roads are awful and the Bridgestones pick up every little bump and crease in the roads.

    I run 255 front and 275 rear federal 595rs-pro and they're by far the best performance/$ you can get since they're basically track/autox tires but cheap. Hard to loose grip on my custom tuned FBO E90 335i. And on corners the grip is unbeliavable. Would rate 4/10 in rain though.

    Really? I didn't know the USA didn't have the "X" drive option on the 340. I'm from Canada and it drives me nuts that almost all the cars seem to come with "X" drive. I don't want it and as they keep on selling so many of them that way it will be almost impossible for me to find a used one in the years to come that is rear wheel drive only. I guess they think everyone wants all wheel drive in Canada because we have a lot of snow in winter but that's just not the case. At All .LOL.

Ill be trying out Michelin Pilot Sport 4s very shortly to see how much better they are, and then depending on how that goes, either switching back to the INDY 500s or finding a new tire to test.

    I'll have to check these out next time I'm due for tires. I have Hankook Ventus 12 Evo 2 right now, and they're good, but not quite enough grip for me. I tend to lose traction in lower gears of accelerating out of a corner. Not super reassuring!

  • @lukefarmer5391

    Run flats are useless. You will still destroy a rim on run flats and they are twice as expensive. I do love my pilot super sports. They even work great in the rain and when weather is cold, even though they are a summer tire. Plus discount tire sells them for cheaper then tire rack. They are also supper predictable.

      If you are going up North where there is snow in the winter, you need winter tires. "All Season" is a marketing euphemism for "Not a very good Summer tire nor an adequate snow tire." Lots of compromises which do not work well at either extreme.

      @machtschnell7452 4 года назад

      Absolutely the best in quality, materials and wear without serious degradation. Tires are the only part of the car that touches the road, so do not skimp on them. If a set costs $200 or $300 more but stops 12 feet shorter from highway speeds and keeps you out of the trunk of a Prius that just pulled into your lane going 45 or 50 mph, it is worth the extra money by far. There is no reason to skimp unless you do not value your safety nor your passenger's safety.
