I am a young Catholic still learning a lot about my faith. Could you make a video explaining relics and what is meant by first class and third class relics? I’ve never really been taught anything about this.

    • @jakesasak3448
      @jakesasak3448 2 года назад +14

a First Class relic is a part of a Saint, like a drop of blood or some of their hair. a second class relic would be something a Saint owned such as a piece of their clothing, and a third class relic would be something that touched either a first class relic or second class. So my Rosary which I touched to a first class relic of St Maria Goretti's bone, would now be a third class relic.

The Catholics use the crucifix to remind them of the sufferings of Christ. Not just His sufferings on the cross but also the suffering He went through during Passion week. Passion week begins on Palm Sunday ends on Good Friday. The crucifix also reminds Catholics of the Resurrection

Hi, Amber! I don't have social media, so I wanted to write this out to you. I am so happy I found your channel! I recently came back to my Catholic faith after the passing of my devout Catholic grandma. Your videos have helped me so much to become closer to my faith. I went to TLM at St. John Cantius, celebrating St. Joseph's feast day. I finished the 33 Days to Merciful Love and went to confession at Saints Peter and Paul (the last time I went to confession was six years ago). Thank you so much for your informative videos. I also find it very cool that you're local. God bless!

    Catholic Must Have For Me:
    1) Icons of Christ and the Theotokos. Icons has an important theology within the Church. They are windows into heaven that makes present a higher reality than our own. Icons defend the incarnation of Christ. Our God who came down and became matter in order to redeem matter.
Analogy of icons: imagine a family with a glass door/window. The dad is outside placing his cheeks on the window. The kids on inside of the house kiss the dad through the window.
If you ask the kids: who did you kiss. They will respond:. I kissed dad!
    2) prayer books. Prayerbooks are so important to the devotional life, they teach you how to pray, and can give you a consistent set of prayers that you can pray everyday.
    3) Chotki - Byzantine Catholic prayer rope. Say the Jesus prayer!

I got my miraculous medal a long time ago from my grandmother. I'm not sure how long I wore it when I first got it but I do know I took it off for a while (probably around a year- or more), and then as I got older I became more catholic (at the time I think I was around 12 or 13, I'm 14 now) I put it back on. So ever since I put my miraculous medal on I haven't taken it off. I did once or twice but I always put it back on right after.

Great video! I recommend a picture of Divine Mercy ("Jesus, I trust in you!") I bought my picture, had it framed & that weekend was Divine Mercy Sunday. I took to my first Latin mass. I kind of felt foolish for walking dressed up to church with a big framed picture but Jesus is worth it.
True story: on the way walking to a church I've never attended, never been to Latin mass, & walking with a framed picture, I encountered what I believe was a demon possessed man. As we crossed paths on the street, he maliciously cursed obesities at me. He wasn't yelling but very hateful & confrontational. I didn't back down but kept walking & praying. When I got there I was in the foyer praying when what I thought at first was an old lady, asked me where the bathroom was. I said I didn't know & it was my first time there. When she smiled at me it was as if she transformed into a young lady... stunningly beautiful. I'm shy & I regret looking away. She sat behind me & I could feel her smile. After mass there was a blessing with sacramental oil & I blessed my picture. I have only missed one Latin mass but I went to my regular church (I go on Saturday night & Sunday morning Latin mass.) A few weeks ago I got enough courage to ask the lady's name; I wondered if she was an Angel as well as I didn't want to pray for her as "That lady." Thank you to anyone that read this & please pray for me & pray for Gina, the Lady. God bless & pray The Chaplet of Divine Mercy!

I did the exact same thing! I bought a missal during a book sale and it had all the holy cards still in it - I couldn't bring myself to move anything and I kind of keep it as a display piece almost. I was meaning to buy a missal when I converted, but my aunt and uncle got me a subscription to Magnificat and I used that for quite some time - easier than going through a book, just to have it laid out already for you.

To be honest my foundation is above all the Triune God and the Incarnate Christ present in the Eucharist, the ultimate object of the Catholic Faith and the One authors and perfects our faith. I try to understand and live by the teachings of the Catholic Church in communion with the current Bishop of Rome Pope Francis and the faith defined by the 21 Ecumenical Councils( Vatican II) being the last. I strive to keep the commandments of God and the precepts of the Church. I at least desire to confess frequently and receive the Eucharist frequently and worthily. I believe in being accountable to an orthodox and mature confessor and spiritual director who can prudently give me direction to discern what is essential for me at different stages of integrating my life to what Christ calls us to. And last and most important surrender to Him with childlike faith.

    MARY'S APPEAL
    For the Immaculate Heart Triumph
"Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death."
"Make and distribute my green scapular as soon as possible, if given with confidence, there will be a great number of sinners converted, especially those souls who do not possess the true religion. They will receive many graces, to help them in finding and keeping the one true faith. Those who die wearing my sacramental green garment will be given a peaceful and happy death, and shall not suffer the eternal fires of hell.
Furthermore, I shall Bless on Earth, every heart who makes my green scapular wear it or spreads devotion to it, for it is My Immaculate Heart, therefore treat it with profound honor and respect. In addition, all who wear or keep about themselves my green scapular badge, are agents of my Immaculate Heart. Hence the evil one is powerless to harm those souls who clothe themselves in my love."
BRIEF BENEFITS - Green Scapular compared to the other Sacramentals
    - No enrollment needed just a simple blessing from a priest for any soul to benefit
    - One can give away to anyone in and outside the faith... even hidden from the individual and also please say the prayer.
    - Help a souls eternity especially those who are obstinate to keep it hopeful for everyone
    - Great blessing if worn in regards to wearing it but not a prerequisite to obtaining grace
    - When you feel your voice is not heard or one worries in regards to their eternity... heaven gives us hope for them in this sacramental
    - additional benefit: add Both Style Miraculous Medals for the purpose to give strength and signal graces to help souls when worn.

@@yankees4551The same way The bible mentions holy water but it doesn't say that the devil is afraid of it. The devil knows how to detect when an object has been dedicated to God or blessed. Sacramentals or blessed objects dont feel right for the devil. They feel uncomfortable.

Catholic coffee? What? Really? I’ve been a priest for 34 years, first time hearing about Catholic coffee! Sounds like a marketing ploy. Not impressed.

Not even the Bible says the Bible is all you need. Speaking of the Bible, come to Mass! We Catholics read from the Bible more than anyone else.

It took an authority outside the Bible (the Catholic Church) to decide what writings should be in the Bible. BTW, she said the Bible in part 1

Every Catholic home should have at least one Bible. Our Missals are 80% Scripture and most Catholics read in them several times a week or daily.

What evidence do protestants have that Catholics don't read the Bible? It's as if protestants have been spending time in Catholic masses and or homes.
