    Wow!!! In all the many videos I have seen on You Tube over the past few years, this one is by far the best!!! Being able to cut a nice circle like this just solved a major problem for me., I love that I don't need an expensive worthless tool to do this and that I can do any size, etc. I just subscribed and I am going to go and watch s many of your other videos as I can too. Thank You so much!!! I hope you will be making more videos soon!

      @@dioramaworkshop You are very welcome. I cut some foam core in the past and I did learn to get nice clen crats, but gluing them with hot glue to make open boxes from them was not as nice. I need to try again with other glue - like a PVA or other glue. I was making some bins to keep parts in for my crafts.

    Thanks Frank. I tried a few other methods to cut a large 29cm diameter foamcore circle for a photo project, and failed miserably every time. Your method was so sweet and I got it sorted first time. The key as you have demonstrated is the length of the blade. I used a standard craft knife first of all with a small blade, which I use for lots of other miniature craft projects, but for foamcore it was more difficult to turn. Cheers my good man. You rock!

    do you have any videos to show how to do scrollwork
    like a scroll saw? i’m trying to cut a guitar shape out of foamcore

    • @dioramaworkshop
      @dioramaworkshop  2 года назад +1

      Not currently, I have never tried to use a scroll saw on foamcore, I would think it be too violent and rip it to shreds. Are you using a template to trace ? Is that why you want to use the saw ? I personally would do it freestyle by hand with a NEW sharp blade to round the curves and give me clean edges all the way around. I will film a video this week and post it before the weekend on how to cut curves freestyle including your shape. Maybe that will help you with your project. Frank.

    2:50 That blade isn't used up! The score marks are meant to be broken off one by one. You can make that blade fresh another 4 times!

    • @dioramaworkshop
      @dioramaworkshop  3 года назад +5

      Yes you can snap the blade at the gap marks, but I cut with the knife lowered close to the table to get better smooth slices. This method touches 3, 4 sometime 5 sections at same time, thus need to replace entire blade.

    • @dioramaworkshop
      @dioramaworkshop  2 года назад +1

      Hello Iris, I like to work with the bigger standard blades... 2mm from bottom to top. The smaller half size I find too bendy and tend to curve itself, does that make sense what I am trying to say ? hope that helps you out. Frank.

    your not holding the circle cutter the correct way,i use mine all the time and it works perfect,it seems you are messing up on purpose for some reason because its so easy to use and it does not skip around as you did its your faulty use of the tool.
