As has been addressed by many folks, we apologize for the audio! We are going to work on getting a better mic for future demos, thanks for all of the constructive criticism everybody! Glad you all are here to help!
When it comes to takamine guitars, I feel that a really good set of strings is important. I was given a takamine guitar as a Christmas present several years ago. I had played an ovation guitar before then. At first, I didn't like my takamine guitar. It wasn't until several years later that I had a set of Elixir medium gauge nano web coded fospher bronze strings put on. Man what a difference in the sound. I also had the action brought down a bit, because for some reason, my takamine had a high action from when I got it. It isn't as good as a guitar as my martin d18, but it really has a very good sound. I play classic country and traditional gospel songs. It works very well for that. I don't use a pick when I play, just my wright thumb and index finger. If anyone is looking for a beginning to medium priced guitar, takamine guitars work very well.
Same goes here.. I got fender n takamine acoustic. At first i don't play much on my takamine for so many years until i found the elixir string.... Now if i want to buy another guitar for collection, definitely takamine is the choice...
While my strings are old and shot on my takamine, I'll have to give those Elixir strings a shot (and I agree the action needs to be lowered). We'll have to see how it goes, thx for your suggestions.
Greetings. I play a Takamine EAN30C and I love it. I had one in the early 1990’s but stupidly sold it. I bought another one in 2012 and glad I did because they discontinued the model shortly thereafter. It is a steel string guitar that looks like a classical guitar. I play mostly finger style with my fat fingers so the wider string spacing is just what I need. I won’t make the mistake of ever selling this one, it will be passed down to my son who has coveted it for a long time. Cheers.
I liked the number 3 the best. I had my instructor, the major acoustic go to guy, another employee and a couple customers try it. This is going against three other brands that were more expensive. The first comment out of all of them was it’s smooth. I bought it.
To me number 3, the $449 guitar had the most noticeable improvement in sound over the model before it. Actually probably my favourite sounding of all of them.
Takamine's quality has always been superior compared to guitars with similar or even slightly higher price range. I have one of Cort's gold series models and while it sounds divine (being all solid with a torrefied top) the aesthetics are a little sloppy, some rough edges on the finish, messy fretwork, very small uncovered sections where the bridge was attached. I also had to sand down the saddle as the action if too high out pf the box. None of these issues were present on my GD51CE when i bought it. I already gave it some dings but it still looks newer compared to my Cort. Kudos to Takamine!
Thank you very much for this video. This was really great to see and compare quality of tone in different woods. 1. Maple Wood - Muddy sounding, one can hear this approach of tonality in 1st two guitars. 2. 51CE Takamine is spruce-walnut combination: There is good resonance that can be captured from walnut back. . 3. 91CE - It's a catastrophic combination of using walnut + Maple wood combination - Hard to have a clear distinct difference. The tonality are distorted . . 4. 1000 USD guitar - Great Harmonics with cedar wood. Good in a closed room concert or so. (Not my thing), maybe in future (Harmonics) become my thing, then this would be important ❤
I'm currently saving up money for a Takamine DG93 CE. I sold my other Takamine guitar to purchase a Yamaha FGX830 CE guitar which is a very nice guitar as well. One of the reasons why I sold my first Takamine was how heavy the case was and the guitar itself was heavier then I wanted. I won't have these problems with the Takamine DG93 CE.
I´ve had a Takamine for like 5 years now, and i they are not the easiest guitars you can play, strings really do make a huge difference with this brand but when you get the hang of the instrument it´s just magical!
Besides the great guitars I want to appreciate the demonstrator for playing more like some grunge stuff. I have never seen someone choose this style but I really like that. Thanks for that.
The EF341 the best acoustic ever and greatest stage guitar, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Johnny Cash etc.. called it the best to perform with and I agree
Hard to guage the difference when the playing style keeps changing every guitar. Maybe consider a short 20-30 second peice that you repeat with each guitar
All the takamine's guitar model that i heard in your guitar sound demo had fretbuzzing sound, maybe its too much low action or maybe the struming is too heavy, thats my comment, keep safe
Your ears are good how's your knowledge? I have a Takamine FP360SC , looking for value. No marks no chips anywhere front back and sides. Not new but very well kept. It was my father's and now I have it. The internet is all over the place for value. I just wonna find the guitar a good home. I just want to know what I have really.
I got a gs 330 s made in Taiwan, anyone got any info on the Taiwan one? Apparently this is rare because it was only made year 2000-2002 according to some forum.
I got a takamine g series and I didn’t like the sounds of the 12 strings so I decided to change them out for elixirs pairs instead of the one thin string one normal string so I had two of the same string as each pair sounds a lot better and much better for genre of music I play
I have an EF360s-tt It’s a Dreadnaught body. The sound is spectacular, real thunderous bass. I am wondering whether to trade it in as the neck is so big. I had to hunt for a capo big enough. Does anyone else have any thoughts on the neck size. I avoid playing it but maybe I just need to get use to it. Any thoughts?
The distict sound and built in pre-amp. A lot of famous guitar players have had a love afair with that guitar. Pete Townsand, Noel Gallager used thr same one in his infamous Oasis Uunplugged session. And so on
so pleased with my gd 90 ce zc which comes with a nice gigbag sounds great looks great and easy to play it took me few levels up in few months cause you want to play it more .But to be honest I tried one of the cheapest of the line (gd 10 ce ) that was the most comfortable acoustic I ve tried in my life. I m planning to buy a gd 10ce too
Thank you for all the info, Maybe play same songs and different variety like finger picking, if you strum every guitar so hard, they all sound the same.
Amazingly the first three guitares sounds better than the more expensive one....but perhaps the guitare player should have played the same partition on all ?
The sound reproduction is inconsistent and muddy. Reviews from other channels sound much better from the same manufacturer. The GN51CE was the best sound of the bunch next to the EF431SC which I KNOW sounds better than it does here. Understand I'm not trying to be mean, I'm trying to help. I have excellent hearing, not as good as when young but pretty fricken good.
I bought a take mine made in Taiwan . I put daddario phronzor string and in the bridge bone pick . Sound like a Martin . They don’t make them anymore . Mine is 2005 . Now I heard theses one and the sound is terrible . The Taylor’s are the best .
I have an old lady EG332C back from 1994 and i am willing to buy a P2D or P1D or P3D i cant decide yet just for the efortless playability.Once Takamine always Takamine.
Why Takamine never built a solid body electric guitar? With the company's great reputation in acoustic guitars I think it will score well among the solid body names competition..🇬🇾
Just bought the CN93CE and it's a beautiful sounding guitar. Your demos sounded awful and your step 4 has the wrong description. It reads: GN93CE and it should read: GD93CE
really can we play actual music not just strumming, this does not high light any of the guitars great sound its not the audio its the the type of music that was chosen.
As has been addressed by many folks, we apologize for the audio! We are going to work on getting a better mic for future demos, thanks for all of the constructive criticism everybody! Glad you all are here to help!
Any condenser would have sounded better

Elixers definitely go Hand in hand with takamine guitars
I love my ltd96
Yes you are 100% right

The GD93CE is my pick for great sound and affordability. Affordability always comes into play when you suffer from guitar-acquisition-syndrome (GAS).
I liked the number 3 the best. I had my instructor, the major acoustic go to guy, another employee and a couple customers try it. This is going against three other brands that were more expensive. The first comment out of all of them was it’s smooth. I bought it.

The 549 one right?
This here doesn't include the real high end takamines, and you have custom shop too.. My TF430SS with cedar-onvangkol is great :)

I have the EF341SC, and I love it.
It's my number one acoustic!
Show off
What strings do you use?
I have same model. Was curious where they sit in the top of the range takamines? Any recommendations of best strings to use

I got GN51CE-NAT and replaced it with light gauge elixir strings. Worth every penny. Sounds more crisp and sound much better.
My first Takamine is a GJ72CE-NAT. I Love it!! Great sound and just a beautiful guitar! Enjoyed the video, thanks man!
I'm currently saving up money for a Takamine DG93 CE. I sold my other Takamine guitar to purchase a Yamaha FGX830 CE guitar which is a very nice guitar as well. the ef341sc is my dream guitar

i discovered some song of my youth, red hot chilli peppers , i love it
The split saddle gives the guitar great range it's good from heavy to soft music. 👍
The EF341 the best acoustic ever and greatest stage guitar, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Johnny Cash etc.. called it the best to perform with and I agree
They played them because they are black, they look good. The cedar with rosewood models are WAY better.
I have a black one but not overly over the moon with the colour. I think black is too dull and disent really show out the grain of wood.
@@frankstephenson1746wow there’s an OPINION! The world is full of black guitars… they chose THAT ONE for a reason! And it has a Cedar Top…
I have an EF-340. Still in great shape.
Same. Bought mine in 1979.
I´ve got an EN-115, with abalone and glitter. Bought it 1980, as far as I can remember. Palisander back and sides. Stereo pickup. Sounds great.
The last chords u play at the end of the video r pure pleasure
I've had an En30c since 1991, it's a keeper😊
Do you recommend buying a Takamine ED334C?
All sounds terrific
I have an EAN40C and it’s freaking amazing!!
Same man it's such a lovely guitar
I have a beautiful condition F400S, it's wonderful.
What a song to pick for the last guitar!
I have got one for my daughter
takamine fp350 sm/sb 1993 and looks amazing
Hard to guage the difference when the playing style keeps changing every guitar. Maybe consider a short 20-30 second peice that you repeat with each guitar
I really my Japanese made (circa 1990's) N10. Beautiful looking dreadnaught with nice sound for a small size.
Are yamahas acoustic electric better price range? I like Mike daws style and don’t know what guitar to get with 1000 budget? Anyone?
Yay you did the legacy
#3 sounds great....
All the takamine's guitar model that i heard in your guitar sound demo had fretbuzzing sound, maybe its too much low action or maybe the struming is too heavy, thats my comment, keep safe
Should do top 5 Pro and signature series models
Is it me or is the third one the best sounding price wise???
Wow!! Takamine guitar one of My favrouite
Unfortunately your audio quality seems poor and doesn't do the guitars justice. Only the last model sounds just OK
I have the GN93CE. Its my No:1 practice guitar because its too gorgeous to leave the house.
Same, I play solely only Latin American music
You skipped over the GN20ce & GD20ce which I think are a better choice than the G30 series as the G20 has a satin finish solid cedar top
My NP15c sounds magic with new Elixir 12-54s or Martin Phosphor Bronze Light strings. Cedar top, Rosewood sides
Would've loved if you played the same few strumming, picking patterns on all of these guitars for a better comparison

GN51CE=NAT vs GN77KCE?? thanks
Hacen Envío para Kentucky??? Me interesa una Para el sábado
I just got a data Fe I love it
GN51CE is good and worth it.
How about the EF360SC model? It doesn’t belong to top 5 Takamine guitars?
I have a 1981 ef360s; I bought it new. It has mellowed, 40 years old. There is no better guitar. Sound is incredible plugged in; or mic'd.
@@DrHorse2012 I agree. Mine is 2012 model
Only if its a 1994 Takamine PF-360SC I have one and its amazing. A must get.

Eyepennies by Sparklehorse!
What about the P1JC ? $1G +/- CDN.
Bar chords to review the resonance?????
O melhor de todos aí é esse japonês preto ef341 excelente!!!!!

I love the. Takamine GF15CE
All these tunes are different and my phone doesn't have any audio how the hell am I supposed to tell the difference
Takamine GN7Ce,is my new baby after i bought and lost my Ibanez
I've got a F400S 12 string, from 1971... that sounds far better than any of these. I took 6 strings off, and it's amazing... very Martin like!
I have Takamine GD71CE NAT. It's nice guitar
Is there a non-electric acoustic-only version of gn51ce?
There is! A GN51-BSB. Doesn't have the cutaway but is non-electric. The CE in that model stands for Cutaway and Electric. Hope this helps!
My favorite is GX18CE-NS
all guitars seem sounds the same maybe your audio output is bad. thanks
Why you did buzzing !!
The Gn51 sounds the nicest to me
Kinda wish you would do a G-series review. I didnt hear what you thought of each.
