Taos is a city and artist colony in the US state of New Mexico. My sister lives in New Mexico and they tend to pronounce it "Taos rhymes with House" not "Taos rhymes with Chaos" lol.

Carmakers sure do love coming up with interesting names that aren't relevant to the vehicle whatsoever lol.

I heard that the Taos is a very low score in reliability due to problems with brakes, electronics and transmission. Do you know if this is true? I am planning to buy one but I am a little bit concerned, what do think? How about warranty.
I am living in Virginia, USA.

It's possible, an outlet like Consumer Reports would be the best source to validate anything like that, as they take data from owners along with their own rigorous testing to see what issues might exist with a vehicle. We only have these vehicles for a week at a time and can't say how any of them are on a long term basis, unless it's one of the vehicles we've purchased our selves.

I have the 2023 VW Toas and I really enjoy it, the only thing I have a problem with is there’s no compartment for your sunglasses.

A lot of automakers are skipping that, I have one on my S-Class but not on my C-Class. It comes in handy!

I drove it and I really liked it. Unfortunately my wife did not like the bolstered seats.

It is a very nice deal for the price! I think the Tiguan had less bolstering!

@@technicallycars I don’t disagree that it’s a good deal for the price. I really liked it.

I have the AWD 2023 Taos and I think the exterior looks more like a baby Atlas instead of a Tiguan

Interesting, the Ontario press fleet Taos is the exact same color! Our review is in the works. Good higway car, but man the gearbox is clunky in city driving...

Probably easier for VW Canada to build a few identical vehicles for the fleets to keep things simple. I found Chrysler had the most logical fleet builds, build a 'hero' vehicle and use it for all the marketing, press cars, and first deliveries to dealers, that way everyone keeps seeing the same vehicle over and over reinforcing it in the minds of the consumer.

It’s a front wheel platform that has an all-wheel drive option.
