Haha, I spent most of the episode screaming internally for you to remember the connector on the base has storage space... Still, nice concept... and nice driving. I'd have crashed the rover at that speed.
Adjusting to the new 2x2 wheels might be an idea aswell, im not sure if they are cheaper in cost, but its worth a look, Also, anything within 5km of a trade base has no ore, atleast thats what ive found in every game ive played. Buy iron ingots from the station, sell steel and interior plates and buy iron ingots. This way you can make what you want. rather than have a crap load of steel plates with nothing to do with them. Small tubes are back at your crash site, 2 conveyor junctions and the cryo pod. should be enough to do the base connector. Edit, Everything i said you mentioned after id wrote it, i really need to watch the video before commenting, LOL
I wanted to remove the possibility of just shooting up to get stone from an asteroid hence the [Nerf] mod. The jetpack is really only there to allow me to 'rotate' for block placement.
Nice job using the gyro to get your rear end up enough to pop the wheels on. Not the first thing I was thinking, but definitely way betterer. You're an absolute maniac driving the pod. I'm still waiting for you to put some of that loot in the LG connector hooked directly to your pod. Painful... but maybe you'll get there, I'm at 1:07. You keep scrolling past it in the inventory menu. 8000L begging to be filled!
I haven't actually tried it but I often had the idea of dragging a drill behind the rover, mounted on a free moving hinge it would scrape up the ice you travel over. But as you point out, there's no shortage of ice on this moon. It might be a cool way to make roads though. More interesting is, you found a Nickel ore deposit, there must be stone around the edges of it or even underneath it. Edit, I tried respawning a couple of times using the long range ore detector mod, I found Iron, Nickel, Cobalt, Silicon and Platinum, so I am reassured that most of the regular ores are under that ice, the surface is marked with creamy patches wherever there is a deposit.
Sadly not a drop of stone - however once past the survival kit stone is less of an issue. Iron, nickel & cobalt is brilliant, just hope i can find some silicon !
Hey! Love the vids! You could save a lot of components if you changed the base's connection. Put a rotor on it's side, grind the head off, add a small head then turn rotor lock on. With small armor block you can fine tune connector height and distance from the rotor, and put a connector on the desired spot. Only thing you have to weld is a small grid connector and the rest is just a few iron plates. I use this trick within every early game. Also I often do it with hinges. With two hinges (second converted to the small grid), and using build vision set the min and max angle to set the hight of the connector. Hope it helps!
Hello. I watched some videos doing these, but these were console gameplays shown. Tried to do it on PC, did not work. Can somebody confirm if this works on PC as well?
@@matyasapati3181 Yes, it works. I only played the PC version and been using these for years. It's tricky at first, but as you experience it it gets easier.
@@Chronos-Sensei I will have to hand mine some to get started, later i hope to be a little adventurous with the new AI blocks (if i can figure them out !).
@@MozoTyce1 i did watch #1. And even if it was just 3 parts, it was still all that was left of the "crash" of your ship. Plus it had all of the components you were lacking. Liking the series so far

Thanks Cedric, i usually remember eventually but i do also get 'brain fade' occasionally !

Lol not a problem - i appreciate all and any comments thx :D
Just found your channel love the content have a good holiday and new year
Hi and welcome 😃
Glad you're enjoying it, Happy 'season' to you also 👍
Personally I always just put like 4 Hydrogen Bottles in my inventory. Respect for you walking so much.
Tho you could also do it. But ice may not be enough there 😅
Also, I Wonder if you dig deep enough, if there may be stone there. Since most planets have a solid core out of rock, tho I’m not sure

@@Chronos-Sensei methinks ice may not be in short supply !!
@@Chronos-Sensei Never having tried it, i'm sure there is none. The meteorites 'look' like they're leaving stone but there's none to mine.
Little late to mention this now but there is stone on Europa, small veins of it like other ores otherwise deep under ground...
Oh really ? I've never seen any so it must be very scarce. Have you found some or is it on the ore map ?

Lol yeah i can be a tad *slooow* sometimes, mind is on other things i guess :)
Love driving on Europa (and the moon) low gravity is so much fun !
@@MozoTyce1 Lol. Yeah you looked like you were having a blast driving that thing. I would have been terrified.

I've used the hinge trick before but for early game your rotor idea is a good one thanks
👍

Component heavy add, nose drill. Pick up meteors, prime mines, get ice.
Not a bad idea altho' i'm not good with drills on rovers and it would slow down my travels 'cos i just know it would hit the ground after a jump !
@@MozoTyce1what about the stationary ones later on with a piston?

I'm curious why you didn't go back to your crash landing and strip that for the parts you needed to get the Rover in proper condition.
Err there was no crash pod, you'll see at the start i had just a cryo pod and two conveyor converters (see start of episode 1 😉)

Where is the mod lists buddy
Hey, mod list that i started with is in the playlist description, i'll be changing the mods as need be through the episodes however :)
