"She was controversial due to her face mold" .... It's to blow out cakes??? Like that's the shape a mouth makes to blow out cakes??? Some people, man.

And I'm fairly dirty minded too.

I said the same thing when I learned about it! It's so silly and, honestly, gross to see a children's toy, which is celebrating birthdays, and take it... there...

Honestly, every time a doll that has a gimmick with some kind of hole in its mouth gets judged, I'm not surprised. As someone with 5 sets of Storm Twins and 3 sets of them being OOTB, I have gotten very used to the occasional person questioning why Veronica has a hole in her mouth. Honestly, I feel like that Barbie's gimmick is more cute than inappropriate for what it is.🖤💜

I was born in 1991. My parents bought me this Barbie in 1998 for my birthday. I still have the dress. Uhm, I am sooo happy that most 90s babies were innocent and sheltered as kids. Like, I didn’t understand the controversy about this doll until you said it.
And someone online literally just told me that my parents were bad parents for sheltering me. No. I just told him or her that I was actually grateful for that. Your video just made me even more happy about being raised like that.

Your new Anna doll is the Jcpenney version. Back in 2008 Disney Store struck a deal with Jcpenney where Disney Store would produce non-articulated "budget" versions of their Disney Store dolls just for Jcpenney to sell in a new mini Disney Store section within Jcpenney stores. So what you get is the Disney Store face mold, and body, but you don't get the extra things actual Disney Store dolls come with like elbow, and wrist articulation or the white strip in Anna's hair or painted on golden detailing on Annas black boots, no fabric detailing on the dress, and no glove for Anna, Belle, or Cinderella. That said your JcPenney Anna doll should have come with her cape.

Thank you so much for identifying her! I'll have to see if I can find it secondhand somewhere. I didn't know about the partnership, so that's awesome to learn about :)
