So coincidental: just a few days ago, a co-worker mentioned he's starting the 75 Hard Challenge. (I hadn't heard of it - I live under a rock, obvi) Then, here you are talking about your own experience with it. Congratulations for completing the challenge. More importantly though - congratulations for identifying what you need, finding a process to get it - and then going for it.

It’s good to see men opening up about real things. I’ve personally been fighting some “seemingly random” anxiety. I’m realizing that I have been stuffing my emotions with food and entertainment. It’s wild that simply talking with a professional has helped to get my head straight and begin to be honest when I’m not doing well.
    Keep the videos coming homie.

I've never heard of this challenge. It really sounds like something I should go for. Retraining into healthy food choices, habits, good use of time. I am interested in the blood work video. Ive been checking my blood work trying to work through some things. I love how this was filmed infront of the pond.

Yup, those 30’s are a real eye opener!
Honestly, I could see the weight creeping up and am very impressed, not only by the fact that you have lost it, but that you have allowed the life style disciplines into your life to eat better, etc. and improve your health. It’s a wise and grounded person who understands the connect between healthy food and healthy being. I also agree that 50% of the success of this type of undertaking, is having someone to share it with.
Trust the advice that what you do early in life, will come back to haunt or heighten your quality of life much later on.
And…any experience or knowledge that has sincerely directed your life for the better would make great topics for this channel.

I can’t believe I am just now finding out that you have a personal channel! Anyways, I feel like I found this video when I really needed to. I am thinking of starting the 75 Hard Challenge, and I love the way you explained everything and shared your personal journey. It’s very inspiring. Wishing you all the best in your future projects. Keep doing what you’re doing, you have a gift!

    Eric,
Again, thanks for sharing this and for focusing more on this channel.
This video really spoke to me: my doctor recently told me that my blood pressure and cholesterol are through the roof, and my liver enzymes aren't great. I've been needing to make a change for a while. For example, today I had leftover pizza for lunch and then spent 5 hours editing a video that I told myself "would only take a couple of hours." The 20 minutes per day on the treadmill goal is a distant memory.
I can see myself completing this challenge, but worry that I'm the type that'll be "whew! glad that's over" and go right back to my old habits. It's also a struggle because my housemates (aka parents) are set in their ways, and get surly even when I say "hey I'll just eat my own thing and you do you." I think the "it's on doctor's orders" finally got through to them though!
Sorry for oversharing, and conversely thank you for sharing so much!

I got diagnosed with diabetes on January 17 2024 it was devastating to me because I have always loved sweets.. But decided to get my diabetes under control and 5 months later I have lost 31 ponds by changing my eating habits.. Most important eat breakfast!! I have noticed that I stay full until lunch time with no need to snack.. Cut all my sugar intake.. I switched to splenda for my coffee.. Drink Lots of water.. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables .. I watch my carbs and I don't eat passed 6:30 .. I wish u all a happy and healthy life 😊 thank u for the video.. It's always so nice to see someone succeed with something that's very hard to do for us all

I’ve attempted and failed 16 days in. Im ok with where I stand. I understood going in 75 days of consistency, routine, habit forming, self discipline all would be gained through completing the challenge. However, waking at 5am for the 1st exercise while it rained, pains in the feet, wobbling through the neighborhood felt unnecessary. Nothing gained but resentment and hitting snooze button more often. The exercise sucked. The commitment great. Still felt like a failure starting off the day deciding each morning is this life changing and worth it. But my evening gym exercise was super and look forward to it. Reading cool. Getting a jump on the water consumption is key or you’re screwed trying to finish at 11:30 at night. Then you still get up every hour to piss. Everyday the challenge for mundane more of an annoyance than anything else. Like my son said who made it to Navy Seal buds training “ I’m hard when i need to be. All my exercising that got me to training was 90 percent evening workouts.”

Hi Kevin. Very interesting video. Congrats on completing the challenge. You look great. And I bet you feel even better. It's amazing how our emotions effect our decisions without us realizing it. Or maybe we do realize it but we still suppress them. Our wounds don't go away. They get buried until we are healthy to deal with it. Oue bodies know. The pain-body. Eckhart Tolle explains this and what it is. It's very interesting. Take care. Congrats, too, on Epic's next chapter. Will be a great 2024 for you. All the best. ✌🎉💕

Well, seeing how your latest ‘change’ video on Epic Gardening was comment bombed 😅 I will comment here.
Good for you all around! Especially pulling yourself away from gaming!! I seen a guy turn into a zombie-totally disconnected socially and honestly don’t know how he was functioning-thankfully my niece didn’t get involved further.
I was guessing you were getting close to 40 and sorry to hear about the early loss of your dad. Rightfully so you have concerns about your health.
I’ve lost both of my parents now and a sister last year. I now know what my MIL was thinking when people they knew were passing away-she would say, “Getting scary”. Time goes fast so I retired early. Glad you made it!

Thanks for sharing this kevin. And congratulations on you achievements. There are a couple of points that I am taking away from this but the biggest for me was exercise consistently over intensively. Can easily go out for a walk but not always up to the balls to the wall powerwalk. So that was very useful for me. It’s funny, I thought when I could become a full-time gardener, I am medically retired, that I would be the healthiest I have ever been because I would be growing my own food and lots of vegetables. I thought the work from growing that food would sustain A healthy physique. Not so much lol. A lot of the times it is difficult because I am tired or don’t have the stamina to do the gardening work and harvesting and preserving, I can a lot of food. I was watching another channel, a market gardener, and he said he exercises every day so that he can do the work of gardening and that really hit me too. So I’ve been trying to make changes and work on that. Good luck on your continual success.

I’m curious what some of your other hobbies or influences are outside the garden. You mentioned Sam Sulek in a previous video so I’d assume you’re interested in fitness, but wondering if/how any of these other interests, influence your approach to gardening.
