- After a failed Maiden Flight of the Albabird due to wrong board orientation, here is the successful re-maiden. This bird is tough and easy to repair. Needs some more fine-tuning and a HD cam.
My setup:
Motor - Sunnysky 2212 980KV with 8X6 APC props
ESC - Airbot Furling 40A ESC
FC - Matek F405-wing with Arduplane
RX - R9mm with PRODRONE tuned dipole'
Camera - CADDX Ratel
Pan Servo - Lego technic 270 degree servo (with resistor mod)
Servo - EMAX 9g digital MG servo
VTX - Partom 800mw 1.280ghz with PRODRONE inverted Vee antenna
Battery - 4S3P 9600mAH Li-Ion

That is an amazing efficiency you got from that motors...i didnt expect them to be that good

Thanks! I have now 3 osd screen to switch inbetween. One is clear without OSD so I can enjoy the quality of the Ratel. Amazing cam . Thinking of putting another one on the vertical stab and a cam switcher. Happy flying! I Love your albabird and the decals. Amazing videos.
Ratel is my current favourite too...What power levels were you running the R9M at...?
It is on Auto>1W. For some reason, I am experiencing shorter range on the R9mm. Currently researching if I can flash the new OTA ACCESS R9Slim+ with old firmware if it will work with my old R9M module (non ACCESS)
@@MyRazerZone Yes, well running 800mw at 1280mhz on your plane won't help your R9MM reciever...I can easily do in excess of 6kms using just a 200mw vtx at 1280mhz... Trouble is, they are getting harder to obtain these days....If I use my EZUHF, it can handle an 800mw vtx easily...Guess you are running 915mhz on the R9?

Hi. It was stock arduplane diff before autotune. I'll take a screenshot of the new diff when I got home from work 😉

Initially, I got it flashed with Inav Changed my mind and continued it with arduplane 😁

I have a low esr capacitor on the ESC and power leads on the VTX 😁
Great video, finding recommend 1300kv motors, Do you think you have enough thrust to hand launch ? And what’s the minimum cruise amps?
Definitely! 2508 or 2807 1200-1300kv and pair it with dalprop 7x5x3 or 8x4.5 and you will have more than enough trust to hand launch easily. 60-70kph cruize Amp should be aroun 5-8A
Sorry my question was about the motors you’re using the sunnysky 2212 980kv , that’s what you are using right ? Do you like those or would you use different ones?
@@rodeopilot7495 they are just spares from previous builds. Used them on the albabird just for the maiden and a few flights. I have already replaced them with brotherhobby 2510 1030KV with 8X6 APC props on 5S3P Li-Ion
