I feel like David Robinson of The Cars does not get enough recognition. Especially on the the first three albums. "You're All I've Got Tonight" is a perfect example of his take on riding on the floor tom. The dude never over plays but has a distinct style you can her in his fills.
This is a gem of a video. Thanks for the insights. Would you ever consider deep diving on each of the drummers you mention here. I'd love to hear you elaborate more on this tribal tom thing, its not covered much at all if at all at all. Great video.
I'm really enjoying your videos, Cobb! Not a drummer myself, but have been using drm machines since the early 1980s, and always open to ideas/inspiration for drum programming. I love all the drummers you mention here. Would be good to hear your thoughts on another of my favourites, Bruce Mitchell from the Durutti Column.
Hey just some info you might like to know, Robert Smith is actually the person who wrote the drums for the whole album Pornography. I don't know if he was the one who recorded it but he demo'd all of the songs for that album on his own at home, including bass.
Break this sucker down Cobb! ruclips.net/video/uNvdZcMU9QA/видео.htmlsi=LO3iSFJRaiw6jC6d Martin Atkins comes up a fantastic groove in his PIL days, and before going industrial with NIN

I love how you sit so straight up and relaxed at the kit when you're playing. This will help you have a long, injury-free career.
Once again a splendid video about drums the way I like them. A krautrock drum special once ?
I always thought it was interesting that the producer of Television's debut album was the producer/engineer for several Led Zeppelin albums.

Cobb, make a video about Hugo Burnham. His drum style (especially on second and third albums) is quite interesting
