I've been following you for many years and seen your live videos of your process, and I will never not be amazed by how you bring people to life on paper, and you don't even really use sketch lines to guide you, which always blows my mind.

@@rahulkannan4755 I never said he doesn't sketch. I said he doesn't really use sketch lines to guide his colouring. And he doesn't. I am both a digital artist and traditionally I use watercolour pencils and pen/ink, and I could never colour without having outlined what I am about to colour.
@@aesaphyr don’t you hate to be misunderstood? We see exactly what we see as artists and with experience know 100% that anyone with the drive could learn also could learn the fundamentals of sketching. It happened to me too and I admire other artist’s work and if it were a conversation amongst those of us who know then people who would be willing to learn and have that drive to know then would not see these things as insurmountable. I also love the original some of the first cp art produced because some were those perhaps began in watercolor and oils and knew the value that a set of 24 could do anything also. It doesn’t change how we might admire other work but surely explains the history and how some knew that they could achieve something closer to the look of an oil painting with many layers. It doesn’t diminished or put down any artist. We are always challenged to expand our horizons and move further out of our comfort zone to be able to do what some see as “god like” when it is practice, experiment, practice more. I believe that the artist could respond to share with the subscribers that principle, that he isn’t trying to talk over anyone and explain that even with just RUclips tutorials and fundamentals they could be doing the same work or whatever they desire. Thank you for your comment as a fellow artist. I sometimes feel that people don’t think that they are capable of learning how to do this and it makes me feel sad for them.

How about a full on botanical with realistic greens involving layering and including the flower pedals and the background, mid ground and foreground in realism. Challenge, larger sheet. Hello from a fellow artist. With the use of only the most lightfast colors because as an artist myself I would rather blend my colors than use ones that would change in the sun and ruin my work. Lovely work.😊

There is obviously an underdrawing that is too light for camera to catch. I don’t want to underestimate anyone but this is definitely not freehanded.

That is why I presented the challenge of doing a full composition, then his artistic abilities and blending abilities would be challenged but in a good way to grow and show that talent is learned by blood, sweat and tears and sometimes many mistakes in creating compositions which is what I do.😊

Hello, can you please tell us the individual colors you used for the skin? again a great video. Thank you. Greetings from germany
He was using on the face specifically Caran’de ache Luminance colored pencils. They are the % ones of burnt sienna, % of raw umber, the ochres, honestly the % of the darker tones are the most helpful of that brand. Each individual’s colors can be unique so that brand has more lightfast variety. They blend well with Polychromos, Prismas, Derwent Lightfast to other colored pencils in those same companies. Sometimes a bit of odorless mineral spirits helps to spread out the color and fill in the white or Zest it or use a couple of tones lighter of the pencil to blend. The white, ivory and light greys of the Polychromos do very well with the Luminance. When I started they were my go to ones the Polychromos) One can achieve so much with even smaller sets or pick them open stock through Jackson’s in your area. Caran’de ache Pablo’s have a great white and cream as well as Derwent Drawing colored pencils Chinese white. Holbein’s regular white is great. Many like Prisma white but the tips break more than they did 45 years ago. It would be great if the artist would respond to the questions of the format
