I'm in the medical field and can offer a little advice! A1C measures the amount of blood sugar over the past 3 months. This means that your blood sugar levels have been high over the past 3 months. I am glad that you are getting this under control! Diet is also a HUGE part of controlling your blood sugar levels. Sugar (glucose) is in so many things, including carbs, which are in things like breads/pastas/tortillas/muffins/etc. I bet that the combination of Ozempic and lowering your carbs will have a big impact on your blood sugar. Look into keto options. I know that there are things like bread and tortillas that basically do not have the carbs that can spike your blood sugar but still taste pretty good!
Keep working at it Joey! You got this buddy. Everything will work out. Listen to your doc, exercise and follow instructions and itll all work out. I know what you mean about the authorizations. Sometimes it takes them forever to get things done. Hoping for the best for you. We are all on Team Joey!!
A1c Levels are a struggle. Mine was a good bit high but I am on metformine and Pioglitazone for Diabetes and that got my a1c in the 6's and lower 7's to the worst.
I have diabetes also. I wasn't watching my diet during the winter months and at my February checkup I was told to watch my diet. The doctor told me to eat more fruits and vegetables.

So far they haven’t authorized it yet. Looks like I’m going to have to say something about it when I go back in a couple days

I used to be on metformin but it didn’t work for me. Made me sick to my stomach and gave me diarrhea.

So far she hasn’t recommended a specific diet
