Nice story but an error in a name. Magazine and a clip is not the same. Antique handguns have a few that use a clip and I don't know of any modern handgund that use one. Walther and S&W both have always used a magazine.
The 1896 Mauser broom handle semi auto used a clip to load, the M-1903 Springfield rifle and the M-1 Garand used clips to load, I'm not sure how many others but it wasn't that many 😊

Firing a semi auto pew pew from inside a purse or pocket is probably going to limit you to only one shot. The material of the pocket or purse will impede the cycling of the slide causing a jam. Also, the material will impede the ejection of the spent case, again resulting in a jam. If one intemds to fire a pew pew from inside a pocket or purse, a revolver is the way to go if you want more than one shot.
