Next after that, hunt for every felix appearance in Todd McFarlane books
You blew my mind with this... I had no idea this was a thing. Is there any actual documentation of how many times he did this?
@@felixthecatcomiccollector not that i have seen, but these appearances are typically felix clocks and various other felix merch
@@wartscmort6199 This is fascinating... I will have to do some deep dives into this. Thanks for the info!
@@felixthecatcomiccollectorIt’s in pretty much in every cover / issue he did of Amazing Spider-Man / Spider-man. Often multiple times. He’s gone on the record to say if Felix is ever missing, he just forgot. (At one point he was doing 2 issues a month🤯) I’m pretty sure he stopped when he left Marvel and went indie.
@@wartscmort6199 He mostly just straight up hid Artwork of Felix. He added the clocks / merch more when he launched Spider-Man (leaving the Amazing Spider-Man title)
I just found out about this channel. Gotta say, I respect the amount of effort that goes into these videos and the idea behind it overall. Seeing someone cover Felix's comics rather than his cartoons is refreshing. Great work!
This is a huge compliment! Thank you so much!
as far as I know, the Brazilian writer Monteiro Lobato. he appropriated the character in his famous and cultural series of books from the beginning of the 20th century "Sitio do Pica-Pau Amarelo" including an entire book dedicated to Felix called "O Gato Felix". If you want, you can add these books to your collection.
Very cool information! Thank you! I'll have to look into this!
perhaps after australia, you can search out japan? he's pretty popular over there so you might find some stuff!
That would be a tough one! I very rarely, if ever, find vintage Japanese books! But maybe...
you are so good at editing to only have 871 subs
Agreed, this is crazy professional editing quality for a small channel that definitely deserves more.
A huge compliment! Thank you! Honestly, I'm just happy to have found 871 other folks who can appreciate Felix the Cat!
@@thatguymat865 Far too kind, thank you!
Never forget Felix the Cat!
Never!
Dude your stuff is edited so professionally I had to take a double take when I saw ur views and sub count
Really appreciate the kind words!
Clearly the next step as a collector is to become a creator. Make your own original comics based on the style of your favorite issues.
If ony I had talent!
@@felixthecatcomiccollector Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you're willing to practice, you can do as said by the late Bob Ross.
@@Anonymouthful This is a great perspective to have!
@@felixthecatcomiccollector you can do it. I wish you the best of luck. ❤😊
@@davysmith1934 Thank you!
I wonder how long it'll take til you get your hands on the comic adaptation of the Felix Movie
The German comic version?
@@felixthecatcomiccollector yup!
@@SpongeboyStudios I've come close! But haven't gotten ahold of it yet. I'll get it for sure.
For one second, I thought you were going to say collecting newspaper strips. I've been collecting Prince Valiant Sundays for over 40 years and have over 2200 of them. I also collect Zane Grey's King of the Royal Mounted (the first ever Sunday I have framed however of the back of one of them is a solitary Felix the Cat Sunday. One of these days I'll dig it out and see which date it is but the strips tend to be buried in boxes and I carefully handle them. I'm sticking with the USA Felix comics as my collection interests are too spread out to invest in the foreign markets, but I admire your tenacity.
Old newspaper prints are incredibly cool! The thing that scared me away from them was their size but also the sheer number that exist. I give you massive props for your collection! It sounds huge!
RUclips just dropped me here with no real reason. Other than maybe watching Linkara. But I'm interested none-the-less! Are there good scans of these comics? If not, do you plan to make scans of them? You seem to be in a good position to help preserve this legacy.
Well, I'm glad RUclips brought you here! The scans of these are limited at best, although mostly non-existent. Someday, I would love to scan the whole collection to preserve them! The delay is just a time/technology thing on my end
