I went solo cross country in July on a MT-09. I went from Connecticut to Washington then back to Connecticut. 7386 miles. Couldn’t imagine doing it on a Grom. Great story thanks for sharing.
@@brysonwalker5465 the trip was incredible! Life changing honestly. It was such an adventure! I bought some saddle bags than one big bag that went where the passenger would sit off Amazon. Honestly thats one thing I’d change if I were to do it again. I’d get high quality bags that are made for the bike and can disconnect easily. Also, I’d pack lighter.
@@jpht.adventures I recommend it. I have a 2021. So far so good. Super fun bike. No real problems yet with almost 11,000 miles on it. My only complaint is that at high speeds, like 115mph+ you get some head shake. Can be kinda scary.
i jus bought my second grom. this is coming from a guy who owns a 2018 honda cbr 1000rr i love my grom more. i have a 2018 and now a 2023 and i love them cuz they arent fast their jus a good speed. but in that speed you have more time to take everything in and truly enjoy the experience. it is amazing. i would choose the grom over and over and over again.

I watched this video a long time ago, and this journey still comes to mind sometimes, just amazing the trip you had and you staying tough and going through with it.
Whenever I buy a Honda motorcycle, I take my seat apart by carefully taking out the staples and removing the vinal top. I then cut a long strip out of the center of the foam to relive the pressure of my man parts. It's amazing for long trips. Your tailbone and perineum will thank you.
i found this so insightful and the limitlessness of the honda grom. thank you so much for showing us your journey! i got my little grom not too long ago and looking into what and where i can take it to.
That little Yamaha YSR you checked out at the dealership, I had one of those back in the 80's when I was 12. Loved that thing. You are braver than me! I might do something like this but no way in hell I'd get on the freeway in San Diego in a car much less a Grom.
Riding through a sandstorm is a bad idea because the sand and fine dust is getting pulled into your air filter and will clog it, some of it might also get past the air filter and get sucked directly into your cylinders. Great video though.
Please let me share. In 1992 when I graduated high school I had just bought a 1987 KLR 650. I rode that from Tucson, Az back to Maryland. Many M/C trips later, in September/October 2019 I I rode my Honda Silverwing (Scooter) from Tucson back to Maryland using only back roads. 3000 miles, about 300 a day. I used google maps and just put it on bicycle route. I took 10 days as I was in no hurry. Not riding interstate is the best ever. 5 Years ago I did an actual bicycle trip from Oregon back to Maryland. I used to drive long haul 18 wheelers so travel is in my blood. Now I'm a travel nurse. Maryland is where I grew up which is why I always end up there on a trip. And, that road in Nm that you're standing on with no traffic, I have a pic of my current bike parked in the middle of that road. LOL Edit. Where you stop at the Honda place is where I just bought my last bike. Honda 300 Rally. Edit # 2. You stopped in 3 points. LOL. you weren't very far from me and my riding grounds. Edit # 3 Awesome man. Just finished watching. Its really good to hear how grateful you are to do this trip. BTW, motorcycles are allowed, it's " motor-driven cycles" that aren't allowed. Essentially a bicycle with a motor. No Bueno.
I ride my Grom 30 miles to work and that is a long trip for me. Surprised the Grom made it up those hills on the I-8 coming to SD, they are steep and it is a long ride to the top. Great video.
@@jpht.adventures trust me when I say you should've watched photogromer videos before you left brotha because your arse would be thanking you and there is a part you can get that will hold the throttle in place and other than that I do grealty appreciate the work you put in for this video ride safe and use the buddy system 🤣
Very cool video. I’m planning a trip from NY to Florida with 2 extra motors and cranks on a Buddy 50. Will be doing stops to fish, site see and and staying at motels. Real men do such trips. Glad you made it. Much love.
One question that has never occurred to me before - do Corbin make touring seats for Grom's? Cycling pants do help significantly with hard seats. You'd likely get better gas mileage with road tires. Those engines are very under stressed and will run flat out forever provided the oil is changed frequently.
Good day to you. I am a senior rider on HONDA Cross Cub from Japan. Enjoying touring ,camping and video uploading. This is so nice video! Awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Have a nice day my friend!!
Last October I road my Benelli tnt 135 from Chicago IL > Nashville TN (~500 miles) in a singular day. 13 hours of riding. Also had to make the trip back at the end of the weekend. True test of reliability with these tiny bikes
....Great video.... I'm going to try that...Note: when your exhaust pipes turn blue it means the engine is running rich, when the pipes turn gold the engine is running lean...
Thank you for this video u honestly just made me experienced a new level of what I really wanna do I want to meet new people and just explore this great country before we are 100% dictated and forced to drive electric vehicles and have to stop for 5 hours for a 120 mile range !
I haven’t even finished this video yet still watching but I LOVE your style of content/road trip video so far. Well done man. I’m definitely gonna be checking out your other videos!
thums up man! just to let you know in vietnam it is common for backpackers to buy bikes for $300 or less and then travel/explore the country going mostly from hanoi to hochiminh or vice versa, maybe a little over 1000miles on 100cc overly used and recycled bikes
Good day to you. I am a senior rider on HONDA Cross Cub from Japan. Enjoying touring ,camping and video uploading. This is so nice video! Awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Have a nice day my friend!!

Please make a video on how you mount everything on your grom! How did you get all of your gear on the back? Im really worried about carrying gear when riding so would love to see how you set everything up!
First of all, IDK why you are apologizing for the wind noise, if someone is getting irritated coz of wind noise, it's better they stay away from motorcycles and moto vlogs... Now to the main part what an epic fking journey, thank god YT decided to recommend this video, I am in a place that is the polar opposite from where the trip took place, and thank you for covering it and sharing it, enjoyed the whole thing, and of course those scenic roads and especially the sandstorm part was nerve-racking, and once again big kudos and thanks for taking country roads and back roads, I enjoyed the whole thing, subbed to see more epic journeys like this. Thank you.
I love doing big rides on a smaller bike I find you get to enjoy the scenery waaay more instead of concentrating on everything else. I have a 50CC Air cooled Derby Atlantis scooter with good mods a Leo Vince pipe bigger carb and jets it's been lightened lighter varriator weights and a modified stock air box. On flats with not much wind I do 93-95 kph and I'm a pretty big guy. I would much rather ride it then either of my big bike's. I'd imagine that ride on the Grom would have been absolutely beautiful and awesome. Cheers
Fun video. If you do more travel vids, please provide more information on the route you take. Maps are great, but referring to the highway numbers is good too. Have fun, and stay safe.
I did my first big trip on a bike this fall. 2,000 miles solo from Chicago, to Badlands National Park, to Rushmore, Black hills, back to Badlands, then back to Chicago. I had a lot of the same problems going far. Lesser gas than I thought, longer than I thought, Places where gas was far away. Ass hurty. I didn't google what badlands even looked like. Just heard it was pretty, planned what I needed to bring, and put it in google. Straight up no planning really. Decided on a Saturday, left on Monday. Cannot wait to go back though.
Badass video bro! That little Yamaha motorcycle you saw at the dealer is a Yamaha ysr50 (50cc 2 stroke) they're air cooled and top out at around 50 to 60 depending on gearing and fully street legal, used to have one to put put around back in the day
If you ever want to save money on water for a long road trip, go to subway!! I have a half gallon water bottle that I use, and 13 out of 14 subways will say yes to letting you fill up!

Amazing man, u gotta have balls to do it on a small bike and that too in USA where bikes aren’t that popular, I live in India and bikes are the primary mode of commute here, I have a 160cc proper motorcycle with 5 gears but always think it might be underpowered for me to go long like 300kms etc , u cleared my doubt
Awesome videos man! I just bought a 2023 Grom couple weeks ago but it's still cold here in PA so I need to wait till I can really get riding. This is my first "bike" and am super excited to get riding. I have watched this video multiple times now and want to take it on a road trip once I get better and more comfortable riding. It won't be as far as you did but I want to go to my favorite store in Connecticut from PA. It's a 3 and half hour trip one way in a car so it will still be a haul for me on the Grom. I can't wait. Thanks for the awesome video!!!
Mmmmmmm beer! 😋 Great video man! I'm touring Cambodia & Laos on my 2018 Honda Dream 125cc, SE Asia edition.Putting around the country at 40 mph. Bike is running great and so am I. Lots of Groms here in Cambodia. Popular with the guys.

Dude, it looks like you are from dallas. Me too! I’m thinking of doing a similar trip. Just feel the need to get out on the grom with some visor time. I bet this was a purge for you to find some isolation!
Man if you take 287 - Amarillo - I40 west to N Arizona (S from Holbrook) going East of Phoenix to Gila Bend, w on 1-8 to San Diego. Did it in Sept 2022 on a Burgman 400 Maxi Scooter. Can't imagine on a 125cc was thinking you would go Route 66 due to speed limitations. Even my Burgman 400 struggled to keep up with 75 mph Semi drivers...
Sweet man I’m from Yuma and while doing my research on buying a grom I ran into your video lol. I know exactly where you exited to Mexico and where you entered back into the country this was a fun video to watch
Next time slime your tires bud! I put tire slime in all my motorcycle tires! It works on tube or tubeless tires! It also balances out when you ride so no need to worry about wobbly tires. Awesome video by the way cool trip!

i went to big bear during the summer and rented a grom ans went up there. it was so scary being 7 k feet up on a cliff on a little bike but my god it was pretty. im living through you in this video. one day i wanna go cross country on a chinese daul sport. this deserves so much more thank you!!!!

I'm getting ready for California, to NYC and back trip 6 months from now. Its been raining all day here in the bay area. But I feel like I'm on the road. Great video. Can't wait to check out more!
I'm soon to head to Alabama from the Bay Area. I initially came to the Bay a few years going the opposite direction. Cross country is an awesome trip !

I am quite a bit older than you and I have been riding motorcycles most of my life. I was just at a big Buc ees for the first time. Very cool. Some where between Austin and San Antonio. I had a blast riding around San Antonio for a few hours about 4 or 5 days ago. I am from Oregon and this is the second year in row that I have traveled from Oregon to Ohio and than south to Texas and west to Arizona I am in Tombstone Arizona right now. If I am able to do it again next year maybe we could meet up and go for a ride. Keep up the good work maybe you'll be famous someday.
Check out the latest Grom Roadtrip!

And here I am, worried about driving from Georgia to California and back in October on my Yamaha V-star 250. I think I'll be okay after all.
You'll be golden! Lmk how the trip goes!
Your patience is legendary to ride a 125cc for so many miles is legendary.

Have a nice day my friend!!
Great storytelling of a trip you'll always remember. Thanks for sharing! I'd love to see more!
i found this so insightful and the limitlessness of the honda grom. thank you so much for showing us your journey! i got my little grom not too long ago and looking into what and where i can take it to.
That little Yamaha YSR you checked out at the dealership, I had one of those back in the 80's when I was 12. Loved that thing. You are braver than me! I might do something like this but no way in hell I'd get on the freeway in San Diego in a car much less a Grom.
Bro, subbed... thst was a crazy ass, fun, and self fullfiling adventure. Much props to you for sticking it through.
LOL
Edit.
No Bueno.
I do appreciate your beer review!
I ride my Grom 30 miles to work and that is a long trip for me.
Surprised the Grom made it up those hills on the I-8 coming to SD, they are steep and it is a long ride to the top.
Great video.
do you ride on the freeway?
Congrats on your trip!
Thank you! Had to follow in the OG footsteps 😎
@photogromer I wish you could make more videos brotha, you are one of the main reasons why I have a grom.

I finally put the Coleman Maddog seat cover on my KLR650, and it makes a huge difference in butt comfort. It was pretty cheap, too.
One day I'll visit and do that myself!
Enjoyed it! Love that you took one of the least highway oriented bikes ever on this trip. Grom 🔥
Good day to you.

That sand storm is a sick story to tell😂 gotta exaggerate the story for the kids lmao
That sand storm was insane! And aint no way you just casually swooped by mexico! Insane hahaha definitely wanna do something like this once in my life 😂😂
Subscribed! Amazing adventure, rain, tires, sand storm, border crossings. This inspires me to do something like it. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you.
Thanks Gautham!
Randomly got this vid recommended and knew I’d love it and I was right
I love doing big rides on a smaller bike I find you get to enjoy the scenery waaay more instead of concentrating on everything else.
Cheers
Love from the UK brother! Watched the Throtl vid on your truck and switched over to this video. Loved it ❤️
Fun video.
If you do more travel vids, please provide more information on the route you take. Maps are great, but referring to the highway numbers is good too.
Have fun, and stay safe.
I agree as well!
Sounds like you planned your trip exactly how I did haha. 🍻
Fantastic video. Cheers to you 🍻🍻 epic epic journey, was happy to watch it!
amazing, makes me want to go buy a grom today! you got some guts going into Mexico with everything going on. Glad you made it!
What kinda stuff you bring for flat tires? Whats the best tires for the grom in this situation?
Regular street tires are probably best since the roads would be 95% pavement. And I just brought a reg flat tire patch kit.
At 60 seconds I felt that wave bye, you really don't wanna but it's your calling 😂 good job bro. 👏 live your life 🤙
Balls of steel!!!! Salute to you
Great video! I watched this over a couple days. I need more long range grom trips.

Nice video. Looked like a good time. Man that dust storm was a trip. I never thought of a Honda Grom as being a touring bike. A daycruiser yes but not multi state.
what an adventure! im from sierra vista, just a heads up that dust storm is called a haboob. pull off the road far and dont use your lights
new favorite bike youtuber
I’m from Lewisville/Carrollton area and will be taking my lesson for M endorsement. I’ve been eyeballing the Grom. Thanks for the video
Amazing video! I haven't rode my grom in over a year and this makes me want to jump back on it and go out and explore! Stay safe
Hey man, every chance I get, I have to ride my Grom even if it’s around the block a couple of times.

Groms still a proper motorcycle lol just smaller tyres still a full size bike lol 😂
I live about 15 minutes from the white sands, a beautiful place! & great video
Congrats on the Grom! Whenever you do your trip, let me know how it goes!
That’s so dope! Peace and blessings
That's a cool trip. The sand storm part is crazy, it's like driving in Forza Horizon.

Dude, it looks like you are from dallas. Me too! I’m thinking of doing a similar trip. Just feel the need to get out on the grom with some visor time. I bet this was a purge for you to find some isolation!
At first you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.
I feel for you riding in the rain like that, happened to me as on I-5 in Grants Pass, OR. I had only waterproof overpants and my jacket felt like chainmail, definitely a story to remember
Good day to you.

You were lucky when you passed through Mexico, glad you had a safe journey.
I did and still do long trips on Honda Groms. Getting a new 2024 soon, time for getting into 5th gear 😂
Hell yeah, I just upgraded as well. We got big plans for this year!
Best Honda grom ad
Now I don't feel so bad on my Navi when a 20 min trip takes me 40 mins due to me avoiding highways lol. DOpe vlog! Glad you made it back to Cali safely!!
Loved visiting my grandparents in Alamogordo and going to white sands that place is amazing
I love it brother! Great video from start to finish. I would sooo do this if i wasn't married with children. Wife hardly wants me to ride into town😂 but i refuse to give it up! Never again! Ride safe
Awesome video man, If I could bring my dogs along (2 of them) I would do these trips all the time hehe.
I was watching to see if I could do a 2 hour drive and holy moly I couldn’t even imagine all the effort you had to go through
i went to big bear during the summer and rented a grom ans went up there. it was so scary being 7 k feet up on a cliff on a little bike but my god it was pretty. im living through you in this video. one day i wanna go cross country on a chinese daul sport. this deserves so much more thank you!!!!
Thank you for sharing that story! Big Bear is on my list to visit

What a awesome video my friend! Thankful to the good lord your safe and healthy! I’m getting ready to purchase a 22 grom, and you have gave me an idea to do something amazing like this. Definitely will be following you! Stay safe and god bless👏🏻
I'm excited for you! Follow me on IG and let me know when you get it!
Yooo I was planning a trip by pushing A honda navi to the limit from WA to kyle texas. Definitely gonna have to carry a few small 1 gallon gas cans for back up. And maybe some other supplies.

Usually when they change color like that it's because they're running lean they're running really hot running lean
I’m a grommer myself… great video
Great video pal well done . Thanks for sharing. Can i ask are those tires you have big block ones?. If so what are they like on wet roads ?.
Thanks for watching! They're Maxxis M6024 Tires, I've had no complaints about them! I recommend them
I am quite a bit older than you and I have been riding motorcycles most of my life.
You can stick a rubber band in between the throttle and kill switch to act as a cruise control/ throttle lock.
Loved the video man! I showed it to the Cochise guys and they were stoked. We should totally do that Canada trip.
Agreed! 🍻
