That's called "galloping", one of the foundations and cornerstones of thrash metal genre. And in my opinion the most important part of it.
I like the galloping riff in 1:14 - 1:24 a bit more tho.

Around the same time I heard this, I watched the movie Not Without My Daughter (1991) starring Sally Field. It put into perspective a lot of the things that were described in this song.
normally I find thrash kind of boring but this is cool as hell, the guitar work is incredible

Neeh man, there are better bands than Artillery. They are not even in the best 4 Technical Thrash Metal bands (Coroner, Forbidden, Annihilator and Toxik). Sepultura is amazing but they are not pure Thrash Metal, more like Deathrash and Groove Metal

I’m sorry but the lyrics of the song are just so bad.
Iran wasn’t waging a holy war. It became a holy in the sense that it was a sacred duty to defend against an aggression by a US proxy (Iraq). Most Iraqis are Shiite, so Iran wasn’t waging a war against another Shiite nation just out of fanaticism.
