    Roger Taylor aged beautifully! He was not that noticeable during their heydays but now he is the most handsome of the 4 members minus the lead guitarist, Andy Taylor. John Taylor was the coolest with the way he carried himself--so suave. Simon Le Bon's voice is still as fresh as the day they became very famous.

      @tylerskiss 3 года назад +2

      Nick has only just started showing the slightest hints of aging. When I was a teen I thought he was the prettiest man I ever saw and I'm sure that caused more than a little confusion with the old sexuality. Almost as confusing as when you were told that all the members of the band Poison were actually MEN!!

      I so agree Maria lourdes Vitales. I think that it is so incredibly funny that the most overlooked guy in the entire band (Roger Taylor) ends up being the best looking 40 years later? Hysterical! But all joking aside he is actually the type of guy I have always been attracted to most of my life.

      Finally... someone else who specifically refers to Rog!!! In my humble opinion, he iZ one of the worldZ greatest drummerZ...ever! I feel like he iZ slightly underrated in the drum 🥁 world. But when it comeZ to this genre of music, no one else haZ the technique, style, finesse, and solidity that Rog displays 👍😆😆🥁🥁🥁

      I feel the same as you! I was about 12 when I was a hard core fan, and a friend who was a rocker made fun of me for being a Duran Duran fan and I changed up to being a metal/rock fan. Was I so silly or what? I am now 48 and once again a hard core Duran Duran fan! They never stopped releasing albums, so screw my friend who made fun of me, lol Best music ever!

    For years i didn't listen to this band, but i have to recognize that they came in a particular period during the thacherisme and after the punk crysis mixing differents genres from punk, to electronic being inspired by kraftwerk, from the funky-disco of chic and so, for me, they are an elegant and clever group which brought colours in the '80, and still today, and for a new wave/ pop band it's not easy, they give freshness and heart to the music...

    I love the bit about Steve setting little traps for Roger to play! I actually grew up learning to play by listening to Roger's drumming, and then Notorious came out and I was like WTF? How do i play this? The little turnaround fill on American Science still haunts me to this day...

    My favorite 80’s band Duran Duran! They’re underrated lyricists, not the usual “I love you, you love me.” They’re also vastly underrated rock musicians. Seven And The Ragged Tiger alone qualifies them to the rock hall of fame.

    As a Duran fan from the start - their playing is great here - but they might as well have no guitarist. That guitar is so turned down - zero contribution to the live sound. These are the not so subtle digs at Andy Taylor. If they had Andy in the band - there would be no need for John Frusciante or any other guitarist on the Paper Gods album. Andy Taylor is the best!

    • @VanielDeeform

      Martin Taylor Yes one example of where he is really missed is when they play Rio. And his magic liquid electric melody is not there flying through the chorus. It just doesn't sound as good without it, which is real shame as it's where all their parts come together perfectly as one.

    In retrospect their best live song is their first, Planet Earth. I’ve seen them live enough times to know that when intro hits the crowd comes alive. It still slams with that disco drum beat and bass. Can’t wait to see them again.
