Imagine the focus and diligence to write this continuously, beautifully and near perfectly. It must be hella tiring, mentally. He probably have messed up, a single kanji, a number of times, and had to redo and record the whole thing again. お疲れ様でした 🔥🔥
常用漢字 2136 kanji in a year, that’s less than 6 kanji a day. Or 10 a day with free weekends and holidays. That would be the most beautiful series ever.... for eternity. The most watched playlist by all Japanese learners around the world.
As a Chinese learner, it's interesting seeing how I can read all of the characters and understand the names, but only a few are pronounced similarly. For example: Hokkaido: 北海道/běihǎidào/"north sea way" Tokyo: 東京/dōngjīng/"eastern capital" I can understand the meaning of both names without knowing any japanese, but only one of the pronunciations is clearly related across both languages.
@@NUSORCA The same exact thing was said when a Ming official visited Ryukyu: “(They have a weird way of pronouncing characters). The village ‘泊’ and ‘to stop’ a boat are both called _tuma’i,_ which is three syllables to a character; the village ‘喜屋武’ is called _kyang,_ which is one syllable to three characters. Whenever they receive some writing from China, they will add marks to make nouns (?) at the top and the rest at the bottom, and pronounce 5-6 characters as 1-2 syllables.”
@@NUSORCA I assume that's due to the Chinese characters being used semantically to represent a word that existed in japanese before they had a writing system, rather than taking both the character and a new word for a concept that they already had. Like how 道 can be pronounced "do" which is clearly from the Chinese "dào" or "michi" which is the word japanese had for the concept of a way or path before they encountered writing from China
@@weijiafang1298 that sounds like a fascinating read, do you happen to know/remember the source of that quote. I'd like to learn more about pre-japanese annexation ryukyu as it's an oft overlooked topic.
