  • Here's a great example of the different tones you can pull out of a Nechville with a few strategic changes to setup. Any sound from modern to traditional is possible. Hear Rich Stillman demonstrate the Bluetone model that he dreamt up with Tom Nechville that has a very distinguished sound due to some unique setup choices.

Very exciting! The difference up the neck is very noticeable. Will there be a different price point for the bluetone setup, or will it be standard on all Nechville models from here on out?

Will the new Bluetone setup work on the wooden Nechville tone ring? Great sound thanks!!

The no-hole metal tone ring is central to this sound. We heard a big difference swapping in the no-hole in place of a 20-hole metal ring that was pretty much identical except for the holes. We didn't try a wood ring, but my guess is that it would sound very different than either of the metal ones.
