Christian Banes I just can't help but be reminded of that scene from Boukenger(The sentai that became Operation Overdrive) where Natsumik(Bouken yellow) Demolished a horde of mooks in the Megazord!
That's because in Super Sentai, they don't mess around with stupid rules like that. If they see a threat, they eliminate it by whatever means they need to use to do so (well, most of the time).
SBaby, yeah stupid. Um...using a giant robot seems like it would come with a certain amount of collateral damage no matter what, kinda similar to an airstrike. You don't need to blow up a neighborhood to take out a single guy usually.
The end is actually one of the things I love about Linkara. His storylines do contain stuff that should be stupid or embarrassing but he's having such a good time, it doesn't matter. Though I suppose some of those jokes are still pretty easy XD but jokes like "the minions are useless" could be said about a lot of shows.
Even though I'm 27 I still love the power rangers. I lived my life by the three rules Zordon put forth, it was one of the reasons my mom wasn't freaking out with the rest of the parents at school about it being violent. 1.) Never use your powers for personal gain. 2.) Never escalate a fight, unless Rita forces you to. 3.) Keep your identity a secret, no one must ever know that you are power rangers Now this comic on the other hand sucks! I've seen some bad comics before, but this is just bad. I know it's a parody, but it's like all those movies making fun of other movies. Disaster Movie, Super Hero Movie, Epic movie? No you needed to summon the power of one of the greatest power rangers to defeat it.
1 and 2 I can understand, but how exactly do you apply Rule 3 to common life? The closest I can come to an everyday application is "Don't brag about the things you are good at," but that seems like a stretch.
To be fair, this is better than the "Da Movie" trilogy. This at least tries to be funny whereas those, albeit to a lesser degree Date Movie, try to ape pop culture and be hip and trendy. Failing to be funny is one thing but those movies don't even try.
I was always proud of the Black Ranger being of color too. I never found it offensive and still don't. The only racist part I see is that people are offended because a "black" person is the Black Ranger even though we aren't LITERALLY BLACK. We're shades of brown.

"Never escalate a fight unless you are forced to." You know, that's actually not bad advice. If you were to bring out the giant robots first, forcing the enemy to turn the monsters huge, that puts it on you when there's collateral damage. Plus, I recall there were a couple of times when the rangers destroyed a monster without it going huge. Also, the original Japanese show the stock footage came from is now available to watch for free. It happens even more often then. Also, the Japanese version is insane and I love it.
Not only that, but if you compare that to the plethora of OP main characters in Isekai anime, using the giant robot to end regular enemies and not giant ones, would make both the fight scenes, and the show itself extremely boring.

The artwork for the intro/title (with linkara & lord zed) is so much better than the comic's cover art which is shown second later. That juxtaposition right there really says it all. And the fact that the title card artist accepts commissions starting at about $25 says even more about the the so called professionals behind this book.
that song "you've lost that loving feeling" maybe a nod to the film top gun where tom cruise sing it to a girl at the bar he just met and somehow this makes her fall head over heels in love with him instead of pulling out a can of pepper spray.

Ok, but why was it in a parody of Power Rangers then? Yeah, it's a joke but it's a joke that doesn't fit with what the comic is supposed to be making fun of.
Ok, but the "observe, an arachnid! Ick!" joke was actually funny, but probably not for the reasons the writers wanted. It unexpectedly breaks a pattern of repetition with a ridiculous yet still technically correct statement. *That's* what's funny. Your complaints are still legitimate, though.

I’ve gotten back into MMPR in a way, thanks to the release of the Rita’s Rewind game, which I really like. The original show debuted when I was 15 and I didn’t watch it but I saw the first movie but never the second one. I haven’t seen the 2017 reboot movie yet. You know, I've watched through most of the episodes 1-2 times, I'm doing so again trying to complete a watchthru...and this is the FIRST time I realized that the Glitch storyline started HERE. In the end credits, a single glitch and "You've seen my bones before". THAT is narrative pacing.

This video reminds me of something: isn't it weird that a professional props department for a hit TV show couldn't afford to make a shield for the green ranger, but almost every other person on the internet can make one with just the common items found in an arts and crafts store?
Arthur had an episode about the title character being the only person to not lose his baby teeth, that featured a PR Parody where the rangers were all about the importance of good dental hygiene and they had a 'tooth-brush' power. 18:49-18:59 Thank you, Mightily Murdered Power Ringers! You have opened my eyes. May I please shut them again, so I don't have to keep reading?
You do us all proud Linkara. May the power protect you.
So... Was there any battle or team-up between Green Ranger and Black Critic Ranger?
Sorta. Check out Nostalgia Critic's review of Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie.
Charles Barkley was in a Nike commercial where he states that he wasn't a role model. It's another reference to early 90's commercials featuring Charles Barkley.
Michael Leoanrd he acknowledges it in a later video.
I KNEW I RECOGNIZED THAT ARTSTYLE! Freaking Tatsuya Ishida! Oh well shame about current Sinfest, but enjoyed his earlier run.
I REMEMBERED THE NAME NIGEL NG FROM THIS VIDEO AND NOTHING ELSE AND I THOUGHT UNCLE ROGER WROTE MIGHTILY MURDERED POWER RINGERS
10:49 All these years later. And I find this extra goofy knowing there's a Scooby-Doo cartoon (Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue) where ole scoob gets superpowers from eating magical Scooby Snacks (Also wish one of the zordz was a parody of Grimlock since he created the Technobots. Who are an Autobot combiner team in the G1 season 3 episode Grimlock's New Brain)
You rocked that Green Ranger suit!
18:25 this gets worse when you remember in the episode"Green with evil pt.2" they formed the Megazord WITHOUT THE RED RANGER! While the zords can only be piloted by their given ranger, that same ranger doesn't have to be there to form the combinations.
I'm also a huge Power Rangers fan, but I have to admit, I actually got a sick chuckle out of those post-mortem one-liners.
By the way, if anyone's wondering, the song Goldarn sings to the Golden Ringer is "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling" by Hall & Oates.
Linkara, keep the suit, I'm 23 and I still LOVE the rangers. hell I hope to get a suit like that too one day though maybe the white ranger
Eamonn Deane not too shabby actually
Eamonn Deane now there's the hard part. honestly I like so many of them its hard to pick one
hey linkara it was awesome to see you at pmc last week. i was compelled to rewatch this episode as it was my first linkara video....incidentally i am wearing the "because poor literacy is kewl" tshirt i got from you. keep up the good work. may the power protect you
I actually thought Goldar was a cat creature
I'm sorry, but the Peace Conference thing actually ended me. They got me, that was killer.
Love that Linky ended with Ron Wasserman's "Go Fly Win!"!!
"I KEEP GLARING AT IT, BUT THE COMIC WON'T SHUT UP!"
I think the "positive thinking" joke was supposed to make fun of Captin Planet. In that show, the guy with the yellow ring got the power of heart, while everyone else got the cool stuff.
Also, I thought the peace core joke was funny.
um..... no
Ok, but why was it in a parody of Power Rangers then? Yeah, it's a joke but it's a joke that doesn't fit with what the comic is supposed to be making fun of.
Funny, ma ti's ring allows him to read minds and control animals. Who's laughing now?!
Comic: What kind of loser watches a kids show all the time?
Me: Oh hell no! GET IT! GETIT!
*The entire brony community charges into Linkara's apartment*
Comic: Oh shi...
All I could think during the ending
1.) I want that morpher and communicator set.
2.) I want that costume it looks awesome.
3.) I think my friend lived in that apartment in college.
actually Charles Barkley said he wasn't a role model.
Okay, As sick and mean-spirited as this comic is, that ending legit made me laugh my ass off! Kudos Linkara!
I’ve gotten back into MMPR in a way, thanks to the release of the Rita’s Rewind game, which I really like. The original show debuted when I was 15 and I didn’t watch it but I saw the first movie but never the second one. I haven’t seen the 2017 reboot movie yet. I’m really only a casual when it comes to MMPR, I’m definitely not hardcore about it like you, Linkara. But I do like some things about it, and I like coming back to this video every so often because it’s still one of the funniest ones you’ve ever done, IMO!
You know, I've watched through most of the episodes 1-2 times, I'm doing so again trying to complete a watchthru...and this is the FIRST time I realized that the Glitch storyline started HERE. In the end credits, a single glitch and "You've seen my bones before". THAT is narrative pacing.
"Red Ringer Under-Roos"...Spider-Man anyone?
I used to have those when I was a kid.
Iron Man: "UNDEROOS!"
*Jason shows up* "It's Morphin' time!"
*Spider Man runs onto the set* hey guys, sorry I'm la-
Iron Man: "yeah... We already found someone else"
Jason: "hey"
Alex Ander I have Deadpool boxers.
???
This video reminds me of something: isn't it weird that a professional props department for a hit TV show couldn't afford to make a shield for the green ranger, but almost every other person on the internet can make one with just the common items found in an arts and crafts store?
Arthur had an episode about the title character being the only person to not lose his baby teeth, that featured a PR Parody where the rangers were all about the importance of good dental hygiene and they had a 'tooth-brush' power. Also I would have called the smiley face rangers Mighty Meh-ing Power Ringers.
Wasn't there also an episode of that show with a sequence animated in the style of South Park?
@@Rabbitlord108 Yes, it was the one where they all submitted stories for a contest and one of them was one a South Park parody.
for some reason I really like this episode, I keep coming back and re-watching it even though this comic sucks
The kills in this comic feel more like rejected Nightmare on Elm Street kills.
"No you're not high right now, this is really happening."
Me, smoking a bowl: Well, ACTUALLY
How funny it is to know that Brad did end up finding a MMPR porn lol
Holly- Zeo Crystal WAll-man, it IS the house of the Book!
Believe me, Linkara, Samurai Pizza Cats is JUST AS BAD as Mightily Murdered.
Although the original Japanese version was actually really good.
Green Ringer would've been funny if it was the Power of Marketing, since Tommy was the ultimate PR tool for... Well... PR.
This came out before it became "The Tommy Oliver Show, featuring the Power Rangers"
Unfortunately this was to early to have not Tommy make a joke about "Giving new ringers the power of thunder"
Gonna be honest ,when I first saw this,I chuckled at the Piece Conference joke
Wow, was this a bad day to upload this.
Since this is PR related, I hope you are enjoying RPM. I liked it, although I am more a casual fan of the franchise.
26:58 Bad comic: What loser watches a kid show all the time.
Me: LINKARA KICK THAT COMIC BOOK’S BUTT!
I think having all the ringers get killed and replaced with another team was a parody of how zordon always makes new teams.
9:43 I think it’s supposed to be Jurassic Parks logo
This Comic Sucks, but this is one of top favorite reviews, so YAY!
I'm sure positive thinking and attorney were just jokes on 'the power of...' phrase. Also, I believe the Spielberg zaur was the skeleton from the Jurassic Park logo. Also I'm surprised you didn't make any Captain Planet jokes, because I'm pretty sure that's where the rings came from.
Whoever wrote this seemed like a total DOOOOOOOOSH!
It's amazing - a-MAZ-ing - how inoffensive and quaint this thing llooks now, compared to the garbage the artist has been churning out for the past six years, and in particular the last six months. Do NOT look up Sinfest now.
Yuuuuuuuuuuuuup. @_@
Mighty Morphin' Huggies. Because apparently, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers is for babies.
To quote CeeLo Green: Fuck You
+New That Toku Guy Ooo Ooo ooo
This was a great review thanks Linkara good luck getting in shape for the movie.
27:22 Dammit Linkara, those words are So true and Yet so funny that I couldn't stop laughing about a minute! Awesome stuff.
Man, this was like the first AT4W episode I have ever seen, I think
Really is a nostalgic feeling to be had here
Why didn’t they have a scene of them questioning why explosions happen every time a punch is landed
You... have... a... GREEN RANGER COSTUME!!!??? YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!! I was REALLY beginning to think you didn't actually have any costumes and then THIS!!!!
Linkara... I bow to you. I am not worthy... I am not worthy... I am not worthy...
:D :D :D
Oh... btw... INSTANT SUB!
Say Lewis, what was the title card based off of? I know I've seen something like that before.
Couldn't say for certain, myself. This is actually a rare occasion where someone else asked to cover the title card for the episode, so you'd have to ask them.
+Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall which power ranger track was playing while you were fighting the comic before the "go Green Ranger" one that is
+Sasuke Uchiha "Go Fly Win" from Power Rangers in Space.
Wait a minute - was this drawn by the creator of Sinfest?!
Lol, the ringers getting ripped apart is pretty hilarious when they are "1-D".
A thing we missed: “Morphin” is also a word for morphine. It got bad enough that the merch occasionally became “Mighty Morph’n Power Rangers”
I believe that was a UK thing. Kinda like Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles.
The Mighty Morphine Powered Addicts were my favorite. I could really get into that. Then Lord Zzzz goes full on evil by forcing Methadone on them.
