**UPDATE: Hey everyone, if you were able to buy Smartchain BNB but your wallet still says 0, you may have to wait it out a bit longer.. it took me 5-10 minutes when I did it but it's been taking a lot longer since yesterday due to high volume. Some took hours and others took even a day.
This is the message on Simplex website:
"Due to a very high increase in volume, there may be slight delays in DOGE and BNB delivery. However, if your payment was already approved it will be processed and delivered. We are putting forth all efforts to rectify these delays as quickly as possible. "

You can swap other coins for BNB. There might be a simpler way to do it, but here's what I did:
1. Buy ETH on Coinbase.
2. Send the ETH to my Coinomi wallet.
3. Exchange ETH for BNB (it uses the "changelly" service).
4. Send my new BNB to Trust Wallet.
5. Swap the BNB to Smart Chain in Trust Wallet (Melissa explains how elsewhere in the comments).
6. Now you have Smart Chain and can follow the rest of the video.
The fees for the entire process (ETH -> Safemoon) was about 5%. Like I said, there might be a simpler way (maybe a way to exchange inside of Trust and skip Coinomi?) but I did what I know works.

What I did to solve this problem is to buy it on an exchange such as Binance and transfer your BNB to your Trust wallet.

I messed up I bought BNB instead of smart chain.

Another alternative is to use another app like Atomic then buy BNB and then transfer that to Trust wallet. When BNB is on Trust Wallet, swap it to SmartChain then continue the video on 1:30.. I know it's a long process lol.. and Some others use bitmart instead

try purchasing another crypto. Its unavailable either because either too many people are doing what (we) are trying to do, it's not supported in your area, or they temporarily disabled the transaction/conversions for another reason. I'm pretty sure its because there is such an influx of people trying to trade other crypto's with it. You can try buying Bitcoin and trading into BNB but I don't know if that will work, more youtube videos my friend!
