I don't think this is just a job for these people...Imagine all of the music they are enabling Generations of kids to create and change lives. What an honor.
All jobs are done for financial reasons. They are not altruistic endeavours for the benefit of others. Offer any of these staff double what they’re currently paid to work in a factory making baked bean cans, and see how many stay at Marshall
I used to go to the factory often when I was stationed in England while in the U. S. Airforce there in the early 80's. I became friends with Ken Bran. He was the one who made that first Marshall amp they showed. Jim Marshall was a drummer and owned a music store in London. Ken Bran worked at the music store repairing amps and he is the one who built the first Mashall amp, he deserves credit!
This behind the scenes is really cool. I know it's just another day of work for those folks making these amps and cabs, but as an outsider it's cool to get a glimpse at all this. Thanks for sharing this, Mia!
Fantastic stuff, Mimi. The OTHER story I heard was that, when Marshall approached Slash about doing a custom artist amp, he said ‘Just make more Silver Jubilee’s but call them Slash models.’ They told him they ethically couldn’t, as the SJ was a limited edition and an anniversary amp. It wouldn’t be fair to those who bought them as limited edition or as collectors. So, from what I’m told, his artists model is essentially a Silver Jubilee with some modifications-enough to make it ‘different’ (but still very similar). I DO know Slash collects the original SJ’s and buys them up whenever he can. I’m also told he does the same with original H+H power amps, and basically has a storage facility full of both. Great vlog, regardless!
And by the way, in the 80’s, Marshall put out a 2x12” combo (JCM 800 guts I think?) that is STILL the best combo amp I’ve ever heard in my life. It roars, with the guts of a JCM in more portable form. Its 100 watt, all tube amp with Celestions. I believe it was limited production, but if you ever get the chance, PLEASE try it. I found one for a friend and his and another friend’s are the single best amps I’ve heard. Look up blues legend Bill Durst and check his tone-he uses them exclusively and no pedals. Just an SG straight in. One of the best sounds you’ll ever hear. Incredible.
Mia, thank you for taking us along for this tour. I especially enjoyed going through the museum part of the factory. The construction of the amps was quite interesting as well. You have had quite an eventful 2023, and I was blessed to follow along via these videos you post. Wishing you a blessed Happy New Year and I know it will be a great one Mia! ❤
Mimi, for 20:23 you were all of us! That smile was just a little bit wider and eyes just a little bit bigger as you walked through those hallowed halls! Thank you for taking us along! Special thank you for asking - and finding - the Jeff Beck head! Bonus was the special Jeff Beck “Hendrix” Strat (which you said you wanted to play!!). Thank you, again, for taking us along!
Happy New Year 🎉 Princess!!! What a nice tour of the iconic amplifier factory. Glad you had fun. Keep playing and smiling with joy threw 2024!!! God bless you!
I love how cool she is I definitely look up to her for the confidence she has in the industry the videography everything aside from just playing the guitar.
HELLO !!!!I THOUGHT YOU HAD LEFT WITH SANTA CLAUS!!! AND THANK YOU FOR THIS TYPE OF VIDEOS, TO DISCOVER SPECTACULAR PLACES THROUGH YOUR FEET!!! AND AT SOME MOMENT YOU WILL START PLAYING YOUR MAGIC GUITARS!!! HUGS FROM BUENOS AIRES-ARGENTINA!!!!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR MIMI!!!!!!!!!✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨THANK YOU !!!
Jim Marshall was a drummer, and if I’m correct, he played in Pete Townsend’s (The Who) father’s big band. When Pete complained that he couldn’t get the volume and gain he wanted anywhere, Jim offered to build him something. And that’s how it all started. The originals had all 8 speakers in one cabinet, till the crew complained they were too heavy and cumbersome. And the stack was born. However, I could be wrong. Feel free to correct me, people.
Mimi, I enjoyed watching how the Marshall Amplifier is made. Great tour of seeing the inside company. The older amps still look fantastic. Hope to see more videos like this. Keep rocking Mimi 😘
Great video - thanks for sharing guys👍✌️😊💜 Kind of Marshall's to spare the time and open up like that too💜💜✌️ I remember Marshall's when working in and around Milton Keynes, iirc there was no museum back then though (circa early/mid 1980s) - or at least that I knew of🤔🤔 I never saw them in Hanwell, but I used to buy guitars and kit from various shops in Hanwell including Peter Cook's in the 1980s, I suppose I purchased my last guitar from the area circa 1992🤔 Many of the shops have gone now💔☹️ But even in the 1980s there was still a great vibe there✌️✌️ Where does all the time go✌️💜😀
Marshall was one of the first businesses in the “new town” of Milton Keynes back in the 60’s, amazed it’s still there because the rest of the town is a dump these days! I live about 5 minutes from the factory. Very interesting video 👍😬
I liked the Jaguar amp definitely looking the best, though i can't fault any of Marshal's Iconic amps and cabs, but that Jaguar, beautiful design, covering colour... and WOW 😮 that Marshall themed harley bike!! at the studio.. Did you guys get to try any of the amps and cabs there? the tour was cool i wonder if Marshall take on younger people to apprentice, it'd be a real shame if Marshall had to close down one day and be forced to find another country to survive just because its cheaper, manufacturing costs, and then lose its brittish roots because there's no one fresh to learn the trade skills in each department I love Marshall in my own way, much in the same way equally as in compared to Fender. They both have their own unique, distinctive qualities that make them so awesome! Shocker- Marshall drum kits.. wtfudge!??
Such a cool vid Mimi. I was messaging Chris asking when are you going to the factory. When actually was this recorded? I was there in may/June time. Love this factory, and going to see them again soon
Amazing tour - thank you. Didnt know Marshall were in Bletchley, definitely planning a visit (especially as my cousins live 5 mins away!!!). But didnt I hear Marshall was sold and the new owners are making major changes.....? Are we losing the old Marshall sound....
Still made in U.K Is a lesson to other brands that sacrificed quality over profits.go see yngwie malmsteen live ,he has a wall of marshalls behind him! What a sight even tho only 2 are used I believe?
What?! No samples when the tour is over?! All the best factories give out some freebies, like the Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory, Jelly Belly, etc.?! 😂😂😂
Hi Mia, I am just like you , I guess play guitar in my kitchen and feel really uncomfortable with playing my guitar in front of people but I can honestly say that my brother has told endless people that my brother has such a great talent and could have done so much with his guitar playing... But guess I've just got stuck in a Rut where all I do I play guitar in my kitchen hahaha... But Stevie ray Vaughan was a big influence on me as well as jeff healey and funny enough when I was young hank Marvin was my hero hahaha now looking back I laugh and think ? Huh ? Hank Marvin really Carl? Hahahaha.... Looking at you and the passion you have for the guitar is so very much like me and yes I'm a quiet guy with not much confidence and the song by Jeff healey called confidence man resembles me but in a way that I'm not that confident but I love my guitars and always have since I was 7 years old and me watching my brother playing his guitar and when he went to the toilet I quickly grabbed his guitar and tried to play it hahaha when he came back from the toilet I'd quickly lay it on the bed and pretend I was just looking at it hahahaha😂😂😂 But anyway I'm off now but i watch most of your videos on RUclips and think your a cool Girl with a great personality and lots of love for the guitar just like me but with me ? I'm in my kitchen and playing feeling bad blues hahahaha.... Please check out jeff healey and Stevie ray Vaughan playing look at little sister and in my opinion the best video on RUclips. Regards Carl. Good luck mimi.
Can you believe I traded a 60's 100 Super lead 12x8 100 Super Lead (snakeskin speaker cloth) for a new Les Paul Standard? I'd bought it from a guy who had it stored in a closet for years, complete with covers and casters... $560.. 1971. What he called the "original Hendrix"... that speaker CLOTH really is a giveaway. Clapton was using the same amp with the Cream. The thing FILLED my mother's VW Squareback station wagon. I traded it off after 7 years.
Idk what to think of Gibson. From all I’ve heard of them they seem a bit corpo. The heritage and pedigree are there but so is the desire to create value for the share holders. There’s so many small builders who are doing what Jim did back in the day. Cool video. They seemed nice
I guess not as many regulations in the UK! Got staples and pin nails, who knows what else flying around. And I don’t see anybody wearing eye protection. 😝🤘🏻🎸🇺🇸
I don't think this is just a job for these people...Imagine all of the music they are enabling Generations of kids to create and change lives. What an honor.
such a great way of putting it!
Yes, I’m sure they are passionate about their art.
All jobs are done for financial reasons. They are not altruistic endeavours for the benefit of others. Offer any of these staff double what they’re currently paid to work in a factory making baked bean cans, and see how many stay at Marshall

My hat off to all the workers making these amps, awesome to see this.
So cool that your youtube journey has enabled so many cool experiences for you. Very cool.
thank you! i feel really lucky 🤍🎸
Fantastic stuff, Mimi.

Awesome. Thanks for showing us this side of music most people don't normally ever see.
Amazing tour! My wife used to drive by there everyday on her way to school. Happy New Year!
Cmon!!! Just getting to see the Spinal Tap amp that goes to 11!!! Sooo f’n cool!!!
Mia, thank you for taking us along for this tour. I especially enjoyed going through the museum part of the factory. The construction of the amps was quite interesting as well. Mimi & Marshall are the best 👌 ! 🎸
Impresionante ...!!! Muchas gracias .
This fantastic Mimi. I' e loved Marshall amps I had a one with a Squire Fender Srat (cream colour) a few years back👍🙃🤔😘x

I am amazed at how small this operation is. I would have thought Marshall would have been much larger.
I love when Nirvana replaced the "Marshall" emblem on their amps with "Nirvana." They are Heavenly amps certainly. Rock on Mimi. 🤘🏻
Also, Kurt kept a mini red Marshall stack on stage for the In Utero tour as a joke
Mimi, I enjoyed watching how the Marshall Amplifier is made. Great tour of seeing the inside company. The older amps still look fantastic. Hope to see more videos like this. Keep rocking Mimi 😘

ALMIGHTY GOD bless you and happy newyear 2024.
It was almost Zen-like watching that fellow covering that half-stack.

Wow Mia! Lovely clip
The Blackstar factory is close to this one, do a video from there
Black star make some good gear but they are copy cats of Marshall really.
My dream job would be working there!!!
I love marshall amps
I'll bet Jimmy Hendrix never thought he would still be such a big part of guitar history.
Awesome ✌️ 🇬🇧
Early 1990's JCM 900's were the last great tube amp.s made by Marshall IMHO.
amazing never knew it was a Brit thing.
Great company to deal with particularly if you are in the UK, they once fixed an amp for me out of warranty for free!
Such a cool vid Mimi. I was messaging Chris asking when are you going to the factory. When actually was this recorded? I was there in may/June time.
Love this factory, and going to see them again soon

Seriously though, I love Marshall’s they have that classic rock tone that I love.

Come back to America!
