Thank You I enjoy your series. The Gaelic spoken in our house was from the Isle of Barra. I was told by a linguistic professor from Trinity Collage in Dublin, He said " Michael you speak the Tongue of the Kings, that has not been spoken in a 1000 years in Ireland. My mother who was made on Barra and born in Calgary in 1923, who.s first language is Hebridean Gaelic, has a hard time understanding the Main Land Gaelic, because it is a different dialect it has evolved rapidly and changed.
LOVE this! thank you. its so true. Many people won't like what I'm about 2 say, but I think it's important nonethless. I hope that those wishing 2 preserve Gaidhlig understand th/ they R not alone in the fight. There are many people of Scottish descent here n America that wish to learn & preserve Gaidhlig also. suprisingly, both those of highland & lowland descent are interested & passionate. Some people of lowland descent have chosen Gaidhlig over Scots, which I think tremendously significant.
Tha gàidhlig beò fhathast; cùmaibh suas leis a’ ghàidhlig! Na bruidhinnibh cànan nan nàmh ri gàidheil eile a riamh, na cleachdaibh galar nan gall!
Is aoibhinn liom Ghàidhlig agus is maith liom ag foghlaim Ghàidhlig freisin.
Thank you so much Murdo MacFarlane.
Inspired.
You see it is not only the language that is dying, our cities are becoming bogus refugee camps.
Indeed a good song.

The transcript is hysterical 😂. I was looking for the lyrics in Gaedhlig and English. I will look elsewhere. Would like to sing it ❤
The Gaelic from Barra has mostly not changed since 800 AD! When My ancestors came there from Erie to marry the Norse princess.
